Just like a friend down here from Columbus, a guy who is a huge buckeye fan ( and longtime Columbus resident) said, "Ohio didn't earn a #4 ranking".  I agree.  That being said, since then they have done very well.  But this Oregon team is proving to be a defenses' nightmare.  I expect the Ducks to win.

Ohio State did earn the #4 ranking and all the sports analysts will agree on this. TCU lost to Baylor so their out of it. Baylor only had wins over 3 teams with positive records while OSU had 8. Baylor had a weak non conference schedule while OSU did not. Baylor shared their conference championship with TCU. Not Baylors fault but the Big 12 will change that. OSU beat the number 1 running back in the nation and beat the number 2 defense in the nation 59-0. You have to understand that OSU was the underdog in that game. The whole OSU did not deserve the number 4 spot is an invalid arguement. Baylor played a division 2 team. OSU won more games. Baylor lost to MSU which Baylor said they would blow out of the water because big 12 is better than B1G ten. Just wanted to clear that up. Also Virgina Tech beat Cinci and went positive for the season. Also Virgina Tech is just having an off season. VT is one of the only teams with 20 plus positive seasons. Also VT helped OSU a lot because they improved so much. Also OSU was starting with 4 rookies on the o-line. 3 of those linemen are starting in the pros from last years team. Also would like to say OSU won with the 3rd string Quarterback. Also OSU beat 2 heisman canidates and the Heisman trophy winner. Back to back games and that has never happened in NCAA history. OSU proved that a 4th seed team can win the National Championship game. OSU is in the history books as the very first true undisputed National Champions. Go Bucks.

When the confetti settled - The Ohio State Buckeyes are in the record books.

Again, cranky old woman, but I've always just thought it was kinda weird... I also don't really get the importance that people place on sports.  I just remember my first quarter at OSU, OSU lost to Michigan and people's moods were effected. People were sulking and at least one of my teachers was visibly upset the monday after the game.

 

Anyway, go bucks!  I hope we win!!!!!

We won. I'm with jbot on this. I can say "we" won because lets face it no team would even be anywhere without the fans. The fans pay for their gear and the coaches salary. If you want to say the unversity does it then I can counter that with the students pay for it. So yes in fact we did win.

Like I told you before. Different coach and different team. Never underestimate Urban Meyer. Only Urban Meyer and Nick Saban have won National Championships at different schools.

You could not be so wrong. 8 National Championships (3rd) and 7 Heisman trophy winners(tied 1st). I would say it does not happen so rarely. Also we played in 4 National Championships since 2002 while most teams don't even make it.

Correct. Urban is one of the best coaches in NCAA history. He is ranked 4th in FBS for coaches and the list goes on.

Well just came back from the store with/out the duck. The Chinese is a great idea, but the only thing duck my go to Chinese restaurant serves is the duck sauce. I tried to find a TurDucken. That way if the duck doesn't go over well there's turkey and chicken. There like $70 though and the local Kroger was out of them. Might just have to go with egg rolls and duck sauce!

Talked the wife into Duck dinner for Monday night's NCAA Championship game.  Looking for any recipe tips. I've ate this one or twice as a child, and from what I remember it had a wild taste to it similar to rabbit's. Want something that will taste good and appeal to the kids as well. So I did a fitness test in December and I need to lose some serious wright. I'm 5' 7" and 190lbs. It said I'm 24.2% body fat. I'm joining a gym this Saturday and plan to lose weight. I'm going to start running and and also start weightlifting. I'm excited.

The Buckeyes shouldn't be at this point. Not a hater, just think they're a year ahead of schedule. So, I've doubted they would win either of the last two games. This allowed me to watch in a relaxed way and be pleasantly surprised.

Still not expecting a win, but want it to at least be close. So far, they've won the Big 10 and beaten the SEC Champion. That's a helluva good season!

Urban did say it would be a year or two away. Either way I'm proud the buckeyes made it this far.

Yup I too am very proud as well, proved without a doubt they deserve to be there. Trying to be an unbiased Buckeye fan, but I believe they will win the game, I would imagine they are in Oregon's head quite a bit right now. The Ducks have most of the pressure on them to win because they are supposed to win, if OSU can pull this off it will be one for the ages in many aspects.

Its going to be a great game. Oregon does not have their top 2 wide recievers so should be interesting.

I've lived in Florida and places hotter. After the first year, you will think 40F is freezing. They sell Winter clothing in Florida for a reason, and people buy it up. It sounds weird, but it's what happens.

That's amazing and this is a true fact. It was 60F when I was their in January and people were freezing. I was so happy because Ohio was -20F lol.

Comcast bought Time Warner which is to say they bought Roadrunner. Comcast has long advocated a policy of "Pay to Play" for content providers such as Netflix. Last week Netflix and Comcast reached an un-disclosed agreement regarding peering and bandwidth costs.

 

Netflix has complained in the past the Comcast was slowing their traffic down as a deliberate tactic trying to get Netflix to pay more than the going rate for traffic over the Comcast network

Rumor has it that Netflix was their first target to get the other content providers to fall in line. With the recent FCC ruling regarding "Net Neutrality" Comcast is free to charge content providers anything they want to deliver their services to their customers. They can legally put Netflix out of business with the recent FCC ruling. Which they heavily lobbied for through various lobbying groups that they support.

 

 Watch for a price increase from Netflix in the near future.

 

Meanwhile back in Road Runner land. Their "Build-out" or network capacity for local areas is rather famous in the industry for over selling their bandwidth. They have been accused of grossly over inflating their claim of how fast they really are.

 

From my personal experience with them their service is rather spotty.  One area the speeds are fast,  a mile or two away the speeds are not so good. Their customer service hasn't been consistent giving me the feeling I was often talking to the "New Guy" who didn't have a clue. Often they refuse to believe that the problem is even theirs referring to virus and malware activity on the users end as the problem. Getting a real tech on the line is often so difficult as to make you want to cancel the service entirely and start over again. Pro-tip: When calling them tell them you are a Unix Sysadmin. Blows their minds and the will boot you the next level often getting a better tech on the line.

 

WOW by comparison has lower rates, faster speeds and doesn't nickel and dime you to death for every little thing such as extra IP addresses.

Looks like I will be switching internet companies soon. Comcast is a bad company. They already charge people in Georgia for GB and if you go over it they charge you a lot like a cell phone. Guess thats the way the internet company wants to go. I will switch to another ISP. Time warner is a bad company as well. So far my internet has been down a total of 46 days since they took over from insight. Also their tech support is horrible and I knew what the problem was and it took them 8 months to resolve the issue when it was the modem. I told them the modem needs to be replaced from the beginning and they would not listen. Had several tech visits and nothing was ever done. Thanks Time Warner Cable for being yet again a horrible company. I would like to go with WoW once they move into my area.

Thank you. I will not be able to get an adult male/female as my family does not trust German Shepherds that are not trained when they were puppies. Dog will be around kids and other animals. Does anyone know where I can find a good breeder for a German Shepherd or a Border Collie in the Columbus area? I am interested in buying a puppy from a breeder and don't have much knowledge on breeders in Ohio. Im looking for a white or black German Shepherd or a Border Collie. Border Collies seem to be cheaper but Im not sure. I want either one. I already did my research on both dogs and I like both of them. If you know a breeder can I have their website link or their phone number. Thanks for your help. I am also willing to travel to get this dog if its not in Columbus.
