Real racing and being fast is not in a straight line, and once again even great riders on many Harleys will get smoked by much lesser bikes probably 95% of the time. The only nice thing about Winter is the peace and quiet of not hearing loud obnoxious Harleys and the likes.
I have seen many a Harley rider smoke a squid in the twisties. I know a guy on a fully loaded Goldwing that most people couldn't keep up with.

Most Harley riders have never ridden a fast bike. Or one that can handle. I often hear them say Harley Fast. The younger riders think a 1200 sportster with a little work and straight pipes is fast. A true Biker knows the facts. Last summer two of the guys I work with who own bobber style, rigid frame, straight pipe, and a head job were talking about how fast they were. I told them we could start at the light and I would race them if they put up lunch and I put up a $100 for each of them against my Concours 14. I also told them I would start in 2nd gear and not shift past 3rd. They laughed at me. Well you know the outcome. It was not even close. My Wife got mad at me for wrecking there fun and said it was wrong to bury them. They think they can beat my almost 40 year old KZ900. Free Lunch time again. I have raced a lot of Harleys on my KZ900 including V-Rods on the street and never lost. I actually think a V-ROD could come close to or maybe beat the KZ900 in the 1/4 mile with the right rider. But it is rare to find a Harley rider that knows how to get off the line. I suspect the ones who do are no longer riding Harleys.

No weight or chip. Just the facts. Do you think the fine and punishment would have been the same if you were texting and hit a Cop on a bike? Do you think you would receive a $150 dollar ticket. Did they even test the Cop for drinking or drugs? You can bet your life you would be tested, cuffed, arrested with force, questioned for hours etc....

The good ones are few and far between. And the good ones never call out the bad. They cover up the ones with the God Complex. Somewhere along the way they stopped protecting and serving and think we must do what they say and its their way and you are in deep shit. Out of control pensions, wages, and lawsuits have turned them into meter maids writing tickets to support the corrupt system. Speed traps, quotas, and double standards have become the norm. Then when they cannot write enough tickets they beg for a levy and threaten us if it is not voted through. Little or no respect for the rights of the people. Show me one Cop that has stood up for the peoples rights they work for and I will show you a hundred videos of them taking advantage of your rights. They abuse the Badge today more than ever because they know they can. And if they do get caught all they will get is a paid leave of action. I did not say I hated Cops. I just said I couldn't stand them. When was the last time you saw a Cop do something good?
I got an 8mph over ticket by a camera the other day in Parma speed trap and it costs $200. Thats $50 dollars more than he had to pay for destroying two peoples lives and leaving them in pain for rest of their time on this earth. So where are the Good Cops calling out this idiot? Which Cop stood up for the victims? Where is the remorse from the Reckless Cop? All because he was texting or doing something other than paying attention to the road as he plowed thru them. I hope it was really important because he really fucked up their lives. Why didn't the Cops start a fund for the victims? They sure as hell would have done it for a Cop if it was the other way around And the driver would have had the shit kicked out of him and landed in jail with a $20,000 Lawyer bill and lost their license for well over a year. Not to mention a long time in jail as the one who hit the Cop. Sorry if the table was turned and you hit the Cop instead of the Cop hitting you it would be way different. YES I CANNOT STAND COPS!!!!

Different standards for terrible reckless driving. The speeding ticket for that would be higher than $150. I hope they sue the Cop and score big even though they will be injured and in pain for te rest of their lives. Then they will want a new Levy. We The People Will pay the millions they end up getting and the Cop will pay $150 while he is on paid leave. I can't stand Cops!

what i was told..
they cannot match online pricing of stores like motorcycle superstore, or revzilla, or even match their own online pricing because they have to pay their staff, and operating costs. Its called overhead. which i completely understand for the most part.
I know the markup in products on a small scale, and the larger quantity you buy the bigger the profit margin.
with that said, there is also a MAP pricing policy they have to obide by. which since they sell EVERYTHING at MSRP, they are for sure doing. but MAP pricing and MSRP are 2 different things... MAP 5%-10% below MSRP... hence why you see much better deals online.
Tires on the other hand have no MAP Pricing policy.. so the game there (for online retailers) is how cheap can you go and still make a buck. Pony should match online pricing on tires, that would give buyers an incentive to get the install done at there facility. you may not make a ton off the tires, but your gonna make your money in service. Otherwise your customers will buy online and get them installed elsewhere. (thats where i come in
)Iron Pony can only do so much. they can't give things away, they have staff to pay, building and utilities to pay for, and they still need to make money. You don't become successful giving things away, but you also don't get successful driving your customers away for one reason or another. its a balancing act.
to be honest, if none of us on this forum shopped there it would hurt their bottom line.
and i would say 80% of the people on here shop online, its easy to make a call to nate at RidersDiscount, get awesome pricing with no tax over the phone, and have your package sitting on your porch in 2 days.
i do shop at Iron Pony though, mostly things i need to see or touch to make sure thats what i want, or things i need in a hurry.
but a lot of things i want, they don't carry the brands that i like. I was so pumped when they started carrying Dainese, and now they don't.
also a lot of Bike specific things they still have to order.. unless you ride a common bike like a GSXR or something.

PR3 tires are way cheaper online and I can get someone to come to my house and mount them cheaper than I can at Iron Pony. I understand overhead and mark-up. I also understand profit lost due to competition. But when they will not even match there own online price ts tough. I am not talking about clearance items. When was the last time you walked into Iron Pony and bought just one thing? That is usually my intention but I end up walking out with much more.

You've obviously never met me, or read any of my posts on the topics of guns. I won't bother getting in to an internet forum gun owning/dick measuring contest, but I assure you, there's not many who have a bigger or fuller gun safe than me.
Where in any of my posts did I say anything about giving a rats ass about what he does? My specific comment was IN MY OPINION, there is way more negatives than positives that can come out of the situation, and the odds of needing it are so low, it's not worth any of the potential legal issues to bother with. If he feels it is necessary, I do hope he does more pre trip fact finding on the legal issues than asking on a state specific moto forum.
Now, you'll have to excuse me. They finally took the corn down around my in laws house. Our clear shooting range is now back to 1000 yards. I've got a buddy who wants to go sight in some rifles today. I'll try not to give him any undue advice.

I was out yesterday for an hour or so out in the area. Its full of debris, rocks, gravel, and dead animals. I also think some of the people in the area actually blow the lawn clipping in the road on purpose. Just a heads up.
