id start it up for 5 mins, let it run, turn it off, then hose it down with that orange gunk engine cleaner. then blast it with a hose.

actually not a bad idea...after the hard grime is taken care of by degreaser of your choice (purple power, etc etc) move on to Honda Spray Polish or Original Spray Cleaner & Polish

Look into smooth-on products, used to be a company down off alum creek that carried there full line. Edit: shell shock brushable plastic (from smooth-on) is teh shit u want.

BMW E46 touring....but finding a manual AWD is likely impossible (they're out there but extremely rare in that combo)

you can rather easily find a manual RWD E46 Touring and if you're worried about winter performance, a set of winter rubber is easily better than AWD, all things considered

if anything though, I would eschew BMW AWD......they seem to kill front axles A LOT and it's unnecessary weight

manual RWD E39 528i (straight six M52B28) or 530i (M52TUB30) can be found too

if you decide to go BMW, lemme know if I can assist you in looking and if local enough, examining the car

Safelite quoted me $200 to replace the glass on my 97 M3 coupe.....or (on their suggestion) 60 bucks to fill in with epoxy the blemish that made me go to them for a quote........not sure why I never fixed it

in any event, a guy I helped replace struts on his M3 in Dublin and who works at Safelite told me Safelite gets their glass made by PPG.........AFAIK, PPG has great QC so I wouldn't mind them replacing a busted part............this is all hazy in my mind though since these discussions happened in mid 2010

I thought the later models simply have software to fix the trans issues from the 1st model year

please confirm if that is the case, OP....if it is so, there's no reason to not buy an '09 and just flash the transmission software (at dealer or on your own)

aside from the transmission problems, the later cars updated engine software for more power
