  3. Try some JB weld. I dont think it is under enough pressure to blow out cured JB Weld, and if it does, you are only out a couple of bux. Just make sure the area is dry and grease free and dont run it until it is completely dry. If it is a beater I would try this, otherwise, I would get it welded....
  4. You cant make a non lockup converter lockup. If it falling on its face at 60mph and you are thinking the converter in not locking up, it would be just the opposite. When the converter locks up it is a 1:1 ratio which would cause the vehicle to fall on its face. Without enough horsepower it is hard for the engine to pull the load, but at 60mph you really shouldnt have any issues....
  5. A 5 speed swap is not as easy as you would think. And the autos are waaaaaaaaaay weak. I swapped parts from a 5 speed car to an auto and it was a full 10 MPH slower in the quarter. To make an Auto run you DEFINITELY need a torque converter, and a shift kit at the minimum. I say just be happy with what you have, or swap to a 5 speed car. There are some fast autos out there, but they are few and far between....
