I personally look way better with a helmet on, darker the faceshield the better....
If you're gonna wear a helmet "for your son" might as well get a good one. You can find those eggshell 1/4 helmets for 20 bucks and use a sharpie to scribble DOT on it if you want or do you want something that will actually protect you? Honestly I don't give a rats ass who wears one or who doesnt, but the dumbasses that make fun of me for wearing one get an earful, if you ride with morons like that I suggest you stop doing so...I actually head-butted a guy once with my helmet and said "see if you had one that wouldn't have hurt" Anyway who are ya trying to impress? I wear mine religiously now partly because of my kids, so I can relate to you, and one of the reasons is because I NEVER want them anywhere near a bike without a helmet, preferably full face so buy something that actually works "for the children"! Set the example NOW!!!!
I dont actually get to ride with many people as most of my friends dont ride so its not anyone I know, just think the ones that are extra thick look weird. I am going to get something DOT approved for sure. I want a helmet that I forget I have on if thats possible. For the kids ofcourse.

Who's heading down there Friday night?

If you want features and "future" get the PS3. I got it with my big screen for $100 off.... good games, good Blu-Ray player..... and good software upscaler for regular DVDs.
PS3 > 360 in terms of "features"
Plus, PS3 online doesn't cost anything
If by future u mean for another 2 years maybe, than yes PS3 has the edge.
-
i voted ps3 not a fan of xbox controller plus gran turismo rocks
So does Forza 2
-
FTR i voted 360, and I don't have live, (2 second ping on my satellite internet makes online gaming a moot point) as soon as I generate, everyone on the map has moved, and i'm dead...
Yeah lag sux

I would like to come. Let me talk to the wife and see what our plans are for Saturday. Just can't make plans without talking to her first.

Not much done yet but give it time.

PS3 online gaming is worth every penny it doesn't cost you!
Yeah and the "sweet" PS3 Home thing is so great. I admit that the PS3 has its ups but can you admit that the 360 has more?

Should be at the meet and greet. Sounds like a good time and it doesn't hurt that the Pig Iron is the shiiz!

vesrah rjl brake pads with motul 5.1 fluid and SS lines.
also, not really a mod but fixing my transmission so i had 2nd gear again was also a HUGE improvement.
That would typically be a HUGE improvement.

Welcome to the best city in the world!

Alright so I need to buy a DVD player for the new house to go with the entertainment system
I've basically decided that I may as well buy either the XBox 360 or the PS3. That way it serves the dual function of DVD's and pass the time playing games.
So DVD abilities aside, b/c they both play DVDs (yes PS3 has Blu-ray), which one has better games and more functionality?
Thoughts, opinions?
XBOX is the way to go. Better games and more of them. PS2 had the edge inthe last gen but its clear who has it now. I love my xbox and the control is the best setup ever. XBOXLIVE is worth every penny make sure you get it.

Just my first post to say Hi. I've been looking around the forum and I'm glad I found it. Who's going to Mid-Ohio on the 17th? I'm riding so I can slip into the infield and avoid the ten minute dusty walk to the lot. This year I'm just going on Friday. No crowds, vendors all stocked, lots going on in the paddock and qualifying. See ya!
Welcome

I like it...
other people's opinions vary...
controller:
speakers
amp (under seat)
It sounds good, and looks okay... for a cruiser you may wish to go with the chrome ones
I like it well enough and I would go with the chrome. I might go with the smaller more stylish ones for a bit more money.

no prob, I got it hooked to an ipod on top of my tank bag, but you can use whatever source you want.
Did you get the basic set? 99$ is a good price. Does it look good?

:lol::lol:
I had a bad feeling I was walking into a trap there! I must be more careful!

Talk to me about helmets when we meet up. I've tried on about 100 in the past month or so. No full faces, but I've tried on nearly every 3/4 and half that is made, and have driven all over Ohio to different vendors. Pick a few you may like, and I'll let you know about them.
I ended up going with an HJC CL-33 with a clear shield for long highway rides, and a bought a separate visor for every day riding. Not the thinnest, but one of the most comfortable.
I also found out the only time you really notice a thin helmet is in the mirror. If you look at guys cruising by, you can't even tell a difference. Everyone looks like a dork in a helmet, no getting around it.
What type of helmet are you looking for?
It's funny, you're asking questions about all the things that I have just completed.
There are varying degrees of looking stupid and I am looking for one that is on the low end of the scale. I have not used one in the past but now I have a son and life seems a little more ...um... important. I liked the ones on the site listed above. I know I am not going to win any beauty contest anytime soon but I would like to not look 4" taller with my helmet on.

I hear ya. I have owned a $600 Arai and a $200 scorpion. The Arai looks nicer but the scorpion fits 10x better. They all perform the same function just get one you like to keep on your head.
Good call
