I am by far a track only rider and I probably would be dead if I hadn't started going to the track. I can now ride ON THE STREET at a much better pace and have way more in reserve. Riding a motorcycle is a constant learning process and the people you ride with can't teach you everything. The reason everyone says to go to the track is you can learn in a controlled environment, it has nothing to do with trying to turn them into a track junkie. As for you not liking the track, your doing it wrong.

Keith Code does the same thing. It really shows that you have to use both.

Not true, I have seen riders who get their first bike and bring it out and have no clue what they are doing. I wish I would have started sooner and not wait 3 years to hit the track. As long as you can get a bike moving, shift gears, and stop it you can do a trackday.

It takes 2 days to figure the place out.

No They split you into groups like MidO. They tend to let people run free the last session or 2. Instructors will still be out there to follow if you wish.

I don't think it is top secret as anyone who has taken the class could tell anyone. That being said, it will change probably by the next round. Most track orgs teach the same stuff just a tad different.

I don't think he is on here. I have talked to Todd on the instruction issue. They are working on have the class 20 min max then split into your riding groups to talk to your instructor with any issues you or they may have. They are revamping the instructional classes themselves to make sure they can stick to this schedule.
