  1. According to this article the whole thing could have been avoided if she had simply brought him a beer when he asked her.........

According to an incident report, Ford is accused of attacking his girlfriend after she refused to get him more beer and, while angry, stomped a puppy's head with his foot, killing the animal.

I know it was bad....... I couldnt resist though....

    • Reject the loan and immediately cease having enough money to pay creditors, putting most if not all of your sizable debts in default and triggering a massive credit downgrade and run on your assets?

I understand what you're trying to say..... however, this option was not that black and white. We still would have had more than enough revenue to pay our debt obligation. The cuts that not raising the ceiling would have required would have been the choice of the president. To avoid a world economic collapse it would have been wise to pay the debt and make the cuts to entitlements. The big worry on the right was that he may do the opposite (pay the entitlements and default on the debt) and collapse the world economy, especially ours. The Tea Party's point was that there was a viable option. The cuts could be made..... its just that nobody wants to actually make them. Politicians know how to get re-elected by spending money.... none of them are sure it works as well by cutting back on what people now believe they are owed........

A sad day is coming, I've seen the numbers and people can cry all they want about foreign aid, military, etc. etc...... but there is no way around cutting entitlements. They are the big pieces of the pie. It doesn't matter how we got here, who spent the most....... this is where we are and something has to be done. We have much harder days ahead........ there is just no way around it.....

  2. Ironically, passing the increase is the bulk of the reason that S&P downgraded us. Had we followed the Tea Party's advice and not passed it, it would have forced us to cut spending. That simple act is seen as pro-active and sets limits on future spending that would have been more in line with our revenue. The downgrade would not have happened. The Chinese agency that downgraded us did so immediately after the limit was raised and they cited the same reasons......... our inability to get our financial house in order.

I like that the Tea party wont compromise on the spending issues. A compromise means more spending beyond our means. Its time to stop compromising and get serious about our future.

  3. tax at equal ammount

    cut military spending

eliminate forign aid Its cut to the bone now, it was cut under Bush before he left and cut again under Obama. Its still just a drop in the bucket of whats needed.

make it cost companys MORE to move out of the lower 48 states

The reason they move out now is because it cost too much to operate here. The choice is move or go under. We need to make it cheaper for them to operate here than anywhere else.

if you want to give out tax breaks to some one.... try the lower middle class & lower

It sounds nice but most of those folks dont pay any taxes now. Dont you think we all should contribute something?

I still have never understood why its cheaper for honda & mazda to make thier cars here but GM is in mexico & canada.....

    UNIONS

Tax imports, Give breaks to american corporations.........

  4. Tax increases on the wealthy and or business do not work. It is simply passed on to the consumer in the form of higher product cost or lay offs. And whats even worse if the product cost is pushed above that of a foreign competitor then everyone at that factory gets laid off and they go from paying taxes to drawing unemployment......... a drain on our total revenue.

The rich already pay the vast majority of total tax revenue, the poor pay none, in fact they draw on the system making things worse.

We need tax breaks for the wealthy and a tax increase on foreign products being imported. That would raise the price of imports to the point that american manufacturers could make the same product cheaper and compete with foreign manufacturers. That would create tax paying jobs here in the US.

  5. Good to know Magley The set of ideas that many have fought and died for that our flag represents have given you that choice. Many other places do not have such choices.

Likwid...... There is a vast difference.

Those children are being forced, they have no choice but to salute and pledge their allegiance to a flag, to a party that does not believe in individual freedom or liberty. A party that oppresses its subjects and punishes those that disagree with it. It tells you what you may or may not watch or read

Here, the pledge is presented not forced on you. You are pledging to a set of ideas that includes "liberty and justice for all" It secures your freedom of choice and thought and your ability to argue right here. If you hate choice or freedom and wish to be controlled by others I can see where you may want it hidden away and not presented to our youth.

To argue against its presentation or to repeatedly insist this legislation forces children to recite it when it clearly does not is ridiculous.

  6. The CDC.

(My son's pediatrician always hands me a flyer of CDC "home safety tips" that explicitly states that you should never have guns in the house)

Well thats just silly. I could leave them on the porch but then anyone could just walk up and take one. Besides, they would get all rusty!

  7. I find this entire thread hilarious... if this story was about how in China forced it's students to pledge their allegiance to the chairman you know everyone would be crying over it.

And there is the FAIL in this thread.... The article clearly states that administrators would be required to include it as part of the schools instructional program. No where did it say that children would be forced to pledge their allegience to anything or anyone. Yet its misinterpreted time and again by those who are opposed to it as such......

  8. Whole new DNA doesn't just appear out of thin air.

Hmmm, if that were true then progressive evolution wouldnt be possible, only regressive. (losing the ability to do something) Like losing eyesight but if you never had the DNA for eyes then you couldnt gain the DNA. Damn....... all these years punting that theory around and it turns out it was just this simple.

  9. As I understand it, The scientific community has documented multiple examples of a particular species that lacking a particular ability or appendage in its DNA, was able to develop the necessary DNA and gain the needed abilty in order to thrive in its changed environment thus propelling a new species forward through evolution.

At the moment though, I cant recall any of those examples where DNA was added to ones make up....... Could you help me out by citing some of those example?

  10. Seriously though, anyone who reject the process of evolution is too scientifically ignorant to run a country.

    Thats fricken hilarious!

Duh.... A great big bang happened and everything was formed out of nothing. Then later on earth when earth was a vile volcanic acid rain kinda place totally void of life, all the right stuff just happened to fall together in a puddle somewhere and life began...... oh...... and also in another "one in a billion shot", in another puddle somewhere else, the same unlikely events took place creating another life but this time it was female and then just by chance, those two left their puddles and found each other (by chance ofcourse) and one screwed the other and VIOLA!!! Life on planet earth was on its way! Through the years in this violent inhospitable place all life forms flourished and evolved into every species of plant and animal that ever existed eventually turning the earth from that barren wasteland of volcanic ash and acid into a lush green environment perfectly suited to support life. And stuffs been going extinct ever since!

    LMAO

Faith in a higher power or faith in real crazy BS? I'll stick with the higher power.

Oops, got off track there..... lol :D

Ron Paul.... Cant say too much bad about him other than the liberal media will bash him too much to get elected. I'd rather have a GOP "yes" man in the whitehouse and Tea party folks in the congress and senate.

  11. Apparently one of the liberties for all isn't the choice to swear your allegiance to whoever or whatever you choose.

The US constitution, the ideas that it stands for, the freedoms and rights it protects, is a unique thing in this world. As with any freedom though,if you abuse it, your right to it ends when it impacts others. Anyone who wants to use their freedom to overturn or swear allegience to another government or even a set of ideas that desires to overturn or limit the constitution that protects our citizens is a treasonous act and should be treated as such. Thats just my humble opinion ofcourse. :D

  12. How is the value of the POA more important than the value of the First Amendment? Granted' date=' I would never encourage Isaac to not recite the POA. However, if he didn't feel like reciting it, or wasn't sure if he understood it completely, or.. GOD FORBID.. he decides he doesn't believe we are "One Nation, Under God"... then why on earth would I push that on him? I certainly don't want the State telling my son he has to repeat the words, "One Nation, Under God".. or any other child, for that matter.

Kids absolutely need to learn about the history of this most excellent nation... and they should do it by paying attention in Civics class. Teaching my child goose-step propaganda is not why I pay taxes to the state.[/quote']

There is nothing there that would supercede the first ammendment. Your child would not be required to recite it but administrators would be required to include it as part of the schools instructional program. I for one want more actual american history taught to our children. I want economics taught...... simple stuff like: its good NOT to spend more than you make! I'm tired of hearing how teachers just choose to leave parts of history out because it doesn't fit their idea of political correctness.

Maybe legislation like this is required to teach a minimum to our children..... sad...... but required.

  13. Just sayin'... :dunno:

Kids need to learn a bit about our country, its founding, our constitution, their God given rights and the recognition of such by the constitution. We have too many people trying to make the constitution, your rights and any form of patriotism dissappear. They hide it away like its a bad thing. If kids are never taught what they have and why they have it...... the men who died to secure it for them..... how are the supposed to value it?

The pledge is part of that process, it tells a story that needs taught.

To rebel against the establishment is sometimes good...... it just doesn't need to be against everything. somethings have value. This is one of them.

  14. A lot of things are grandfathered in. Some mags, if they are original(made before the ban) are legal but if they are a recent reproduction they fall into the illegal non-grandfathered area. The fact that they may be identical doesn't matter.

  15. however people seem to be placing the blame in the wrong places. Instead of putting all the blame on bush (who I agree is mostly an idiot) put it where it belongs on the jackass's that bought a house they couldn't afford. It is not up to a bank to be a babysitter and tell people what they can or can't afford they only decide if someone is credit worthy.

While I agree the individual should ultimately be responsible for his own actions. There was collusion between progressives and business that led to the housing bubble. In 1933 the Glass-Steagall Act was made into law and it forbid the mixing of mortgage finance with other aspects of financing. In short, it required mortgage holders to retain the mortgage they wrote by making it illegal to bundle them and sell them as one investment. In 1999 Bill Clinton repealed the Glass-Steagall act and made it legal for banks to bundle the shitty mortgages they knew would not be repaid and sell them to investers. They found they could make serious cash by doing this and suddenly they needed more mortgages to bundle so they relaxed their requirements on who was eligible knowing they wouldnt be stuck with them..... some un-knowing investor would take the hit..... A few years later and a shit-ton of forclosures later and suddenly they cant find a buyer for those bundled shitty mortgages..... The housing bubble popped!!! here we are....... so..... Thank Bill.
