they blend it differently. So yeah it would be great to run stabil in the winter months without worry.

no, it had some gas in there... maybe there was just stale gas in the line?

when you put it away for the winter always use stabil fuel stabalizer.

fill the tank add 2 ounces and run it for a few minutes.....no worries come riding season.

Did you run it empty before this fiasco?

it's electrical most likely.there is no fuel regulator on carbed bikes.

hard to tell from here obviously but i remember a guy i know had a 92 and the recitifer/regulator went bad.

i would check the Stator and all other electrical compnents with a ohm meter.
