hell yes I'm mad! When they announced they were going to go to the 1200 I was pretty much leaning of selling mine and going with a 1200 until the pictures came out. My biggest gripes are its looks and its comfort level. It has a much more sport oriented seating position that makes it less comfortable as well as the gas tank being very tall making it feel awkward to me at least. The CoG seems higher and thus makes it feel even more top heavy than the 800 is. Did I mention its ugly? I know a lot of people don't think the 800 is appealing though I think the styling is great and they totally ruined it on the 1200. There were a few other technical items that I'm seemingly forgetting that I hated about it

If you need to save room, you probably dont need chairs or the easy up Like MT said, there will be several different groups of rides. I personally always end up in the same group as IP and usually I had a fat kid partner in crime in Likwid to complain about not having a lunch stop but he's on a diet now so I've lost his help. I usually do end up finding somewhere along our route to bitch enough to stop and get some BBQ as thats about all I eat down that way. Definitely good to bring plenty of fluids and snacks though if you dont wanna buy them at designated gas stops. Our group tends to really only stop for gas. Yup, I'll be joining you this year. I'm on a liqour ban also, as you know its one of the few places I got cell service I too have Verizon. Last year the gas station area as well as the general store were where I got service. Once you started up the hill towards the cabins it cut out because the gas station has a Verizon hot spot. If I recall correct, closer to the lodge and IN the lodge rooms you can just barely get service

I might use it as an excuse to bring the bike to work. Rarely ride to work though, no point in paying for my own gas for the 90 mile round trip
