  1. -Lowered the price, pipes have been freshly re-wrapped.-

Up for sale is my custom built GSX-R (mostly). This is my baby. I spent nine months rebuilding her, every day riding her, and hate to see this truly one-of-a-kind machine go. But, I'm starting to outgrow the sport bike world, and need cash to get my next bike project off the ground.

    The Short Story:

Bought the bike in 2005, which was originally a 2002 Suzuki GSX-R 600 Movistar.

Bought it as a theft recovery, therefore a salvage title. It was just stolen and dropped, which meant it had a scratch on one side, but mechanically perfect.

Torn down and rebuilt in 2009. The only original parts that were kept off the old bike was the frame, engine, fuel tank, and the rims. Everything else is different.

20,000 miles on the engine. Brand new Michelin Pilot Pure 2CT tires (maybe 200 miles on them max).

This was my daily rider. Mechanically in fantastic shape. Cosmetically, there are a couple scratches. Thinking about having it repainted, but will add to the cost.

Asking 5,000 as is. 5,600 repainted (and the decals will be gone).

    The Long Story:

I wanted to rebuild the bike, but had it be truly unique. I wanted to do some significant upgrades, while changing the body lines to have her looking a little more modern. I will start from the front, and move my way back.

I'm sure I might be missing a thing or two. Just contact me with any questions you might have (I'm sure there will be a few!), I'd be happy to discuss anything.

This is a custom bike, no other one like it. I built it entirely myself, and she is a fantastic machine, but it's a total one off. There are no manuals for the modifications. This would be better for someone who is really into motorcycles and knows how to maintain a bike. This one might be a little much for someone just starting out. She was my daily rider, so there are a few minor scuffs and scratches, she has her quirks, but overall extremely solid, and I have taken meticulous care of her.

Any questions, or to come and see her, just let me know, the pictures don't do her justice.

  2. Yea... This whole thing sucks. It was my wife in the Volkswagen. I have been debating for the past 2 weeks weather or not to post on this, the whole thing is just terrible. The investigators state that she had the green arrow, I guess he just didn't see the red light. I didn't know the guy, but everyone says he was a good guy. I haven't been able to ride my bike since. Everyone just needs to slow down and look out for each other.

    Everybody be safe out there.

  3. Actually meant to post a comment as I saw this at the Red Lobster in Ontario a few months back. One of the guys was wearing an Iron Pony pit shirt and thought that was weird in the Mansfield/Ontario area...

Anyways, looks great in person and a real eye catcher...

Yea, most of us worked there at one time or another. Just ended up keeping the shirts!

  4. I find it funny IRON PONY doesnt stock the majority of helmet brands... I mean, at least have floor models for fitment so people can try them on and order. It IS the largest Motorcycle supply warehouse. Why not have display models of new lids then just sell the display models discounted at the end of each season? :dunno:

You would be surprised how decisions are actually made around there. I was their Graphic Designer for a whole 3 months! (lol)...Still, no better place to shop though.

  5. I think we're all saying (or thinking) the same thing here. Its loving a machine, and that machine giving back that same love. The adventure, danger, seeing and feeling things that you cant get in a car. Being exposed to everything, feeling excited yet at ease at the same time. Being different that every other person around you in a cage, oblivious to their surroundings. Oh yea, lets not forget being on a machine that cost me 5K and being able to out accelerate most entry level supercars (juvenile, but still a valid point).

All I know is I have a shit load of work to do, and I cant stop dicking around on this site for the past 3 hours...

    what he said...

  7. I just caught a quick look at it last night and one of my buddies that saw you come in said " hey did you see that riced out 999 that just pulled in" LOL Once I got a closer look I realized it wasn't a duc at all. That tail section is pretty unique to the 999/749s though so it throws you off pretty quick. Either way, after looking at the pictures, that is a really cool 1 off design. Nice work.

You got any more detailed pictures of the transformation.

Sorry, that's all the pics I have so far. You can see all the detail you want at the next bike night.

I get allot of guys thinking it's a 999. The only thing that's Italian is the tail (seat, tail fairing, sub-frame, and exhaust shield), but the rest is Japanese. I know the headlights kinda throw people off too, and I was hesitant on using round lamps, because it would look like a 999.

And I was also hesitant with the Japanese on the tank for guys thinking it's "riced out!". Its kind of a good luck/prayer if you will. Translates to "Luck be with those fortunate to brave this saddle" You see all kinds of guys doing similar things. Cruiser guys have "trinkets" or badges on their bikes for luck. Track guys have "lucky numbers".

It's kept me safe so far.

  8. Yea, it's my bike. I wasn't trying to build a 999 knockoff. I just took specific body lines off of other bikes that I liked, and turned it into one machine. And believe me, what I spent on rebuilding it, I couldn't even buy a quarter of a Duc. I just wanted a totally one-of-a-kind machine.

Anyways... Ill be at most of the future bike nights if you want to get the full rundown. See all yas there.

  9. If you are a sci-fi fan, you will definately like District 9. I was very impressed. And I was also surprised at how certain parts "got" to me. But I think that was the point, to make you feel for the aliens and how desperate their situation was.
