  1. If you want the most well-designed helmet for any street oriented riding on any motorcycle, just get the RF-1100. I work at IP and will tell you that it's the best full-face helmet out there, unless you want helmet stability at track type speeds (then you want an X-12.)IP's in store prices on RF's: Black & white are $359.99, other solids are $377.99. Any graphics are $449.99. I won't try to tell you how much your head is worth; you know better than anyone else does. There is a big difference between an effective helmet and the best you'll ever have. Just sayin...

  2. I have two Shoei X-11s, size XL. Both are used and have been worn, probably less than 2000 miles on each. In excellent condition. The EBoz feels a little bigger than the Kiyonari, but even the looser of the two stays put perfectly on my dome. I'll sell either one right now; the other one I'll probably be willing to sell in the fall or winter, after I receive my backordered X-12.   3. I just installed my PCIII on Friday without difficulty. My only mods are a Scorpion slipon and a K&N. I chose a setting for a Micron slipon & aftermarket filter since there wasn't one for my exhaust. It seemed to be working better, but not perfect. Then, today I was riding at about 75mph for 20 minutes or so when my EFI light came on. Needless to say, I was a bit freaked out. I got off the freeway asap and shut it down. I checked all my connections, all was good. I restarted and took it easy on the way home and the light didn't return. I searched a lot of the Bandit forums without finding much useful info... apparently all of us Bandit owners must be idiots:confused:. I need more low range fuel (I think) so I've adjusted accordingly. How much tweaking does a PC need? I hate gadgets; all I wanted to do was install this thing and be done with it. What can you guys tell me about your experiences? Thanks.

  4. It would be interesting to know what the shell material was on that Icon you were hitting. If it was polycarbonate or thermoplastic, those materials will flex a lot before cracking. Fiberglass, on the other hand; is more likely to crack upon a significant impact. The cracking actually helps to spread out the force of impact which allows the EPS an easier job.

With all the threads about BRC's being so full, I thought I'd let everyone know that of the six classes scheduled at ODPS in the last two weekends, there were so many no-shows that none of them had more than nine students AFTER all the walk-ins were accepted. I can't speculate the why; I just thought it was worth posting. So if you still want to take the class, try walking in! The recent statistics give you an excellent chance.

  6. Jporter is pretty much right on. The BRC is curriculum provided by MSF and offered to Ohioans through Motorcycle Ohio. An independent dealer such as Hinderer or Rider's Edge still uses the same workbooks and range exercises but may stray from the tight schedule used by MO. The skills you can acquire are exactly the same and any class you take can potentially save your butt. For as long as you ride and remember what you learn, this class will have value. So if you have the cash now, take the class when it's available!

  7. I'll do ya one better Scruit: I took a class about 7 years ago with an Ohio Chief instructor teaching. This guy is an excellent rider with probably 300000 plus miles under his belt. He locked up the front brake as he demo'd the quick stop and literally stepped off the bike as it crashed. It was awesome! He picked up the bike and did it again to perfection. No shame or embarassment, just an excellent instructor who stayed focused on the goal of teaching people how to ride. Tons of respect for the man!

  8. I guess I've been lucky but I've only taught a dozen classes so far. I've had a few crash-happy students but no injuries. Most of the time when people have crashed on the range it's due to braking while turning/leaning. It's an honest enough mistake for newbies. As far as late students in the classroom, I heard about the total meltdown in Delaware but haven't had a problem yet. When I am in the classroom, I am the dude looking out at the parking lot at 5:59 to see if a straggler is coming. ALL of us are fanatical about being on time.

  9. As an instructor who teaches there, I can attest that the lottery system is in place at the Broad Street location. Just be there 5-10 minutes before the class starts. Most instructors prefer a check (would you trust a stranger with your $25.00 cash?) Having your temps is not mandatory for the classroom, but you MUST have them by the time range activities begin on the weekend. It is true that minors get first prioirity if there is an open spot. I know that there will be at least one student who won't show up for his scheduled class on 6-15, 19, & 20. Best of luck.

  10. It would be worth looking in at IP to check if you could buy a large headliner for your extra large helmet. I know there are 5 shell sizes for the entire size run, XXS-XXXL. If the L & XL use the same shell you could get a better fit in the crown, which would in turn force the already thickest cheek pads (I think 41mm) to hold onto you more. Good luck!

  11. Wow. the much-hyped Rashad vs. Rampage fight was just that: hype. It was a fight that showed total discipline and control by Evans. He looked fast and confident. He only caught Rampage right at the start, then just did what he does well: kept Rampage on the fence and on his back. Rampage gassed out and looked slow and clumsy. I was hoping to see some fireworks what with all the trash these guys talked about one another. No question about it, Evans earned that victory. I doubt that same game plan can be effective against a guy like Shogun. That will be a fight to watch. It's a good thing there were some other entertaining fights on this card!
