  1. I asked jonni the same question a while back, the following thread on assfault junkies is a result of that:

    http://www.assfaultjunkies.com/showthread.php?8608-racersedge-likes-dislikes

I never ended up dealing with them, but I know when I was trying to buy an '08 cbr 600rr they had parts from 06, 07 and 08 to make it look back to stock and never damaged. That kind of turned me off from doing business, its possible I will look in the future though.

haha yes i do remember that. and if you check my last post in this thread i mention exactly what you are speaking about. parts from other wrecked bikes to make one complete bike. regardless of year.

the worst story i have heard of racers edge is about someone who got a 600rr with a rear axle bolt from what they thought was either from a 250 or 500. after a few thousand miles of riding they pulled the bolt and it had bent from not being able to handle the 180 rear. it could have caused some serious perhaps even fatal results but the rear tire vibrated so much that they were able to catch it and replace it before the bolt broke.

  2. i know of a few people that have got some real bargains at racers edge. but then i have heard horror stories too. things such as when they have rebuilt a bike they use parts from other bike that may not be a perfect fit or what the oem calls for but works to some extent.

just be an informed consumer and have a mechanic with ya to check out the bike you are interested in. and dont be afraid to walk away.

  3. Lets set a meeting point to meet up with dayton and or cincy guys. and we up here around columbus will decide what time we need to meet to get there.

the cincy people normally meet at the shell station off of 275 the wilders/AA highway exit. the first right when turning right out of the shell is 915.

  4. after market parts are covered on the bike if you elected the purchase the aftermarket parts coverage when you started your policy. i am assuming since they are giving you 7k for a bike listed at 5k that you did so.

mine is an additional 60 bucks a year and i am covered for an additional 5k in after market parts above the nada value and kbb value of my bike.

  5. i have the honda shop manual if you would like to service it yourself. i can send ya a pdf of it. not much involved at 8k other than an oil change, visual inspection of chain/sprockets (if you are running the steel stock ones you are fine). air filters and valve adjustments arent required till almost 20k.

as far as the leak goes, when they replaced the stator are you certain they used an oem gasket? many times people will try and use silicon or epoxy to seal it and it will almost always leak. also was it replaced because the original stator cover was damaged from a crash? if so it may not be fitting properly.

  6. i use a green dot for all of my online purchases. been doing so for about two years now. dont have any complaints. refill is as easy as a trip to walmart, cvs, kroger etc.

had an issue with my CC's numbers being compromised a few years ago. i will never again use my debt card info or cc for any sort of online purchase.

  7. oh yeah, this is sold.

Will be selling my 2004 Aprilia RSVR Factory next.

  8. you can take the MSO to the bmv for a title. but between the two 09's i would be more so leaning towards the black one. it seems like that one only has a 1k miles street duty. the track miles are unknown on the red one because they disconnected the speedo. they could have beat the hell out of that one on the track for an entire season. the black 09 has been on the wera board for some time. he bumps it often. i am willing to bet if you offered mid 5k-6k he would take it. just my 2 cents.

  9. yea the Leyla is my 2nd favorite behind the Phoenix. The dealer near me still has 2 09 Phoenix's but won't budge on price. I don't like buying new anyway but the cheapest I've gotten them is 10.5k OTD so its easy for me to walk away. If I can't buy a bike with cash its easy for me pass

10.5k out the door in the off season?! wow that is taxed. i found a stealership in michigan that has the 2010 leyla in stock they said they would do for 10k out the door. i guess the ones in your area are contempt sitting on their inventory through the winter.

and i know 9k is much for a 600rr but i have never owned a brand new bike. i have never done the broke in procedure for any if the bikes i have owned, and i guess i am willing to spend the extra coin to have a brand new one.
