The only thing I learned from this thread is nothing.
  3. Sure, but why not do an NA-T car?
  4. I wanted to update everyone as to what we've been doing at BPA. We have completed a variety of projects, including everything from turbo kit installs/accompanying fabrication, to shock/strut replacement. 1994 Supra: fuel sending unit block off plate, driveshaft loop modification and install, Pro EFI tuning http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/14biggy/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG00446-20111002-1744.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/14biggy/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG00456-20111006-0621.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/14biggy/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG00465-20111006-0624.jpg Details: The block off plate is made of 16-gauge mild steel sheet. It was cut and bent appropriately for the project, and TIG welded. The loop was a universal piece the customer provided. We extended it and mounted it off of the rear transmission mount, keeping the loop no more than 6" from the front universal joint. The loop was TIG welded when needed. B6 A4: full exhaust construction http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/14biggy/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG00440-20110926-1658.jpg Details: This customer came in wanting to spend $1,000 on a Magnaflow exhaust. I explained to him that we could build him one for much less than that, and he approved us to do so. The cat-back exhaust was built of 2.5" 304SS, completely TIG welded, and exits with two 3.5" stainless tips. DSM Spare Parts Manifold: exhaust manifold built out of spare pieces we had at the shop http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/14biggy/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG00314-20110809-0159.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/14biggy/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG00316-20110809-0159.jpg Details: Some of you may have seen this manifold in person. It was built out of the pieces of the exhaust manifold I had started for my DSM. It utilized a mild steel head flange, 304SS schedule-40 primaries, a 1/4" 304SS brace, and a stainless T3 turbo flange. It was completely TIG welded. Excluded in the above pictures are the provisions for a 44mm V-band wastegate. 1992 SC300: T6 turbo conversion and accompanying fabrication http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/14biggy/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG00179-20110523-1504.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/14biggy/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG00188-20110529-1943.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/14biggy/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG00213-20110608-2355.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/14biggy/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG00233-20110620-1848.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/14biggy/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG00234-20110622-0043.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/14biggy/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG00241-20110624-1911.jpg Details: As most of you know, this is my personal car and one of our shop showcases. This is also the first time I've posted openly about the cars' contents. I bought a Bullseye Power S475 turbo from a member on here early this year with the intentions of using it on the car eventually. The car started dropping boost from what I later found was a crack in the intake manifold. I inspected the 70mm turbo that was on it before and found a small amount of shaft play. With that in mind, I made the decision to see if I could convert the then T4 turbo kit into a T6 kit. This proved to be an arduous but rewarding task. The turbo had to be rotated and tilted to fit by the remnants of the distributor. The T4 flange was cut off and the T6 was welded on at the appropriate angle. It was braced using 1/4" 304SS round-stock and welded using a combination of TIG and MIG welding. At this time, the manifold was modified to accept a 60mm V-band wastegate. The 3" downpipe that had been used with the 70mm turbo would not work with this setup, so we built a new one. The new pipe is a 304SS, 5" marmon-flanged unit. The wideband bung was welded 18" from the turbine exit to try and keep as much heat as possible off of the sensor and prolong its life. Next comes the rebuilding and fabrication of the rest of the exhaust, and then I plan to drive and race the car until it breaks. Other Projects 1967 Nova shock/strut replacement, electric fan switch Plymouth Colt fuel cell welding/install GTO oil change, brake replacement Kia basic maintenance package Cavalier serpentine belt replacement Turbo E36 BMW dump tube fabrication, diagnostic service 1977 Corvette valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, Accel EFI system tune In closing, BPA offers a variety of services from basic maintenance to advanced fabrication and tuning. I have updated our website with an updated list of services to allow everyone to better understand what we do. I look forward to communicating with you, and helping you undertake any projects that you may have.

    Tonight

Myself and a few others are going to Blue Ginger for sushi at 8. Blue Ginger Asian Fusion Bistro‎ 6234 Sawmill Road Dublin, OH 43017 (614) 792-3888
  7. From what I can tell, the crack is a result of the original welder (whoever welds for Boostwerx) not using enough heat, a flaw in the metal/prep work, or an odd stress being put on it. I repaired the manifold once and, while I thought I ran enough heat to prevent it from cracking again, I guess I was wrong. I re-welded it tonight, running enough heat for 3/16" material and using the thickest aluminum filler I have. If that doesn't fix it, I'll build a new manifold.
  8. Luckily we have an in-house mad scientist.

  10. Will this board fit somebody 6'2"?
  11. Is there senior member pricing for the D42 rental?
  12. 13.925 @ 110.41. Car's acting like it has another crack in the intake manifold. Was fun finally launching off the two-step though. Glad I could help. Get that RPS in so we can get you kicked out of the next track day.
