We have a 2008 Z1000; I love it, but it has some weak spots. The suspension is the part I like the least. It's really comfortable, but I have not been able to adjust the dive out of it under braking. The power and the brakes are amazing though. You can gain some additional power by swapping in ZX-9 cams/double spring valves (and be able to increase the RPM range).

I rode the scooter to work. Just got back about an hour ago.

Lane splitting FTW

Iron pony has a used (duh) 1974 yamaha. Didn't catch the price sorry.
It's just sitting there waiting to be reborn. It's not in bad shape either.
I think it is $1800.

“The main changes we have decided on are new rules for the MotoGP class. We will have four cylinder engines, 4-stroke of course, with a 1000cc maximum, and the bore of the cylinders will be 81mm.
Aw, let them build a 1000cc 2-stroke if they want to. Should be fun to watch though.

I will in about 45 minutes to go to work. But I've been riding the whole month.

Use Linux. Mac=BSD with an ugly purple theme...
+1
Ubuntu 9.10 for me.

Columbus is nice. I like having seasons, but we have wild winters in comparison to the north-east. I lived in New Hampshire/Mass. for 8 years and loved it, except for the winter. Southern California is a nice place to visit, but a crappy place to live. The cost of living, the traffic, taxes (9.25% where I lived) are all why I don't regret leaving, also after 8 years.
I do miss being able to lane split legally though.

That's pretty nifty! Are they built significantly made for your electrics? I'd be interested in adding a light bar without modifying the switches (aside from what you have)
They make a BMW/H-D version and a standard version, both require tapping into the wiring harness. Your idea should work, I just used the kit for fog lights. What kind of light bar?
-
I've been wanting some fog lights for the Bimmer for a while now, so the_silverfox bought bought me some for my birthday. Just generic ones you can get at Autozone, but the cool part is the switch she got me. The lights turn on and off by holding down the turn signal cancel button for one second.
The little LED on the controls turns green when the lights are on.

you go scooter boy and ride safe that things is evil
I'm still working on it. I think Ruckus wheels will fit on it, so I'm going to try to find some this spring. Then it will no longer have tires that came off a 6 year olds bicycle.

No way it's over. It's time to ride the scooter equipped with dirt bike tires.

If this passes' date=' which it won't, it cannot be enforced. Ohio doesn't have the budget/manpower to enforce a law like this. They can't even keep drunk drivers off the road, let alone catch all the speeding motorcycles. Ohio just had an 8th, or 9th, DUI violator kill someone with their car. He was in between convictions and was waiting for the courts to suspend his license. [/quote']
I do like the yellow "Plate of Shame" Ohio issues. But I think we need to bring back the firing squad for people like that.

I got 87,999,821 plays. 87,999,820 plays, no matter which they started with (run or pass) would take them just to the outer end zone line. They would need one more pass play to take them 1.5 yards into the end zone (backwards). Keeping in mind that starting at the 20 yard line it would be the distance around the Earth minus 90 yards.
For some reason, I doubled my answer. It's late.
And I think I did the distance around the Earth minus 80 yards. Oh well.

You must work for the Chiller. How is that guy? I heard he got burned pretty badly.
Yeah, the one at Easton. They didn't tell me a whole lot, just that he's still in the hospital. I closed the rink on Wednesday, so it must have happened Thursday morning. I should know some more by the end of the weekend.

...it's time to go riding. Apparently someone made an electrical mistake in the compressor room at the ice rink I work at, which consequently turned both of our ice rinks into swimming pools. It looks like it's going to be nice out all weekend, anyone else going for a ride?
-
Nope - they ain't 'zactly forks. It's a paralever suspension. One of BMW's best features - no dive under hard braking and loads of adjustment and travel.
I love it.
-
Awesome. Too bad it will probably cost more than 20k.

Everybody knows that Guzzis top out at 350.
Checkered flag decal adds another 38mph.

Eenteresting, well if I go the way of the challenge I saw it as more of a comparison to a DR or XR. I see more potential to throw sporty tires on and do a track day or something like that, but I may be way off base with those hopes. The badge is worth a bit to me, I like the Rotax motor and BMWs are different which is something I like in a bike. I thought the Xchallenge was significantly quicker than a KLR? Not something I'm worried about trail-wise, but just trying to get away from traffic.
Hadn't considered the F800gs, seemed like the extra price and weight weren't worth it.
The F650GS, IMO, would get boring. The F800GS is the most heavy, but it makes good power. Two-up wouldn't be an issue. If you're looking for a track bike, I'd try to find a X Moto.

A lot of fun stuff for that bike.
I rode this one in MI one time (on the street). I enjoyed it, but you would need different tires for sure if you wanted to do some serious off-road riding.
I think the F800GS would better suit your needs.

Oh man, there are times I really do miss having a "for fun car"... especially AutoX
Nice 6er. 635CSi? That's one of my favorite BMW's.
