  1. it's been a week or so and i've never recieved a call back from Brian, so i can sign up. dave
  2. yes, thats me. thx for that info, i'll contact him. dave
  3. hey guys, i would be up to try out Putnam. i was going to do Grattan that month, but i've already been there, and like riding new places. do i need to join any club or get a membership to ride on these dates above ? i live 15 minutes from Gingerman and rode it last wed. and wasn't to impressed with it at all. i was talking with some of you Ohio guys there this Sunday, and they spoke highly of Putnam. dave
  4. thx! looking to ride it later this week. suppose to warm up to a balmy 39 degrees later this week, i got to ride. dave
  5. thx, i only have around $125. into the face lift. the ugly thing wasn't worth spending any more on. dave
  6. hey all, really hated the looks of my Versys, but i love the bike. so i made some new parts from ABS plastic, vinyl wrapped some parts and painted a few. made my own rearsets, moved them back 2''. new lower bars, and went forward with them. i bet nobody will figure out what it is now. the one pic is the stock bike. just thought i would share with the class. dave
  7. yeah, thats what i thought too. especially with so many good singles out there. dave
  8. i stubbled across these last nite. http://www.mac-motorcycles.com/peashooter_black.html just love that simple, clean look. wish i had some of the old thumpers i owned back, i would be hacksawing on one already. got my next project to make now, i have to build something like this. dave
  9. i made some new side panels, fairing parts , and a seat cowl for my Versys. i''ve always hated the look of this bike, but it's the only bike the fits me good enough and let me ride again, and it was easy to make even more changes to make it even better. these parts will change the look alot. i'll post when he's done painting. ''attackpainter'' is taking care of me. dave
  10. hi, would anyone happen to have factory part # for the blue and silver base? thx, dave
  11. looking forward to meeting and hopefully riding with some of you next year. my significant other and i are heading to Ohio in the spring for a 10 day vacation. i'll trailer the bike and we will be camping along the way. i just got back from riding down around Brown County in Indiana, what a Blast! I have nothing around home for twisties, other then the track. can't wait to ride your roads, they look awesome from the pics i've seen. dave
  12. WOW!!! What a welcome. man, i wasn't expecting all these emails. glad to hear from you all. First, I'm not a Michigan football fan. Nice planes, thx for sharing. I really don't like anything about the looks of the Versys, but have to say i love the bike. now that i know i can ride again, i've been test driving about everything out there. they sure have improved over the last 25 yrs. :-) I bought it for my 52nd. birthday in Sept. had to stop riding bikes 25 yrs ago because of back pain. I owed 18 of them over about 15 yrs back then. One day I said after getting off the riding lawnmower, ''if my bike hurts riding this mower, then it can hurt riding a bike. so i bought the Versys the next day, really expecting i would have to sell it in a couple of weeks. to might delight, it doesn't bother it at all, life is good!!!! i'm been going at it like was 16 yrs old all over again. dave
