  1. Great example of idiots on wheelie bars was in the Outlaw 632 class this weekend. Dude put the car on the wheelie bars (that were not set up right) drove the wheelie out to the point that all 4 wheels came off the ground, caused a MASSIVE nitrous backfire that caused the car to look like Truck-a-saurus sending sparks, fire, smoke, and hood parts everywhere. Wheelie bars help, but like anything stupid finds away...
  2. The idea behind taking away wheelie bars is to level the playing field so people can just throw everything they got into a tuneup and drive the thing like a pulling tractor on the back tire. I saw 2 cars end up in the wall this weekend because they went on the bumper or did not know when to lift. Ask Ray about when the car carries the wheels out past the 60 foot cone. The first thing we do after that shit is tighten the front end or add weight.
  3. No wheelie bars are supposed to be a way to "limit" how much power can be put down, but as you can see there is a slight drawback to not having them on a car... Wheelie bars are looked at as "sissy sticks" by some because they are a way to cheat. On the flip side, when a set of wheelie bars break the outcome is 100 times worse than this. I've seen them break and send a car shooting across the track with zero warning. Long story short, sometimes you need to know when to lift if you don't have wheelie bars, sometimes you are just screwed no matter what.
  4. Two perfect examples of why safety rules are in place at the track. I know it sucks to not be able to run your car all out, HOWEVER if something does go wrong that roll bar/cage, helmet, or neck collar will save your ass. I saw this one in person and it has to be the scariest thing I've seen at the track. http://www.dragzine.com/news/video-dewayne-mills-takes-flight-at-lights-out/ Flat out, this mother fucker is lucky to be alive. I've never been a fan of having a freaking catch fence that close to the guard rail at a drag strip... http://www.dragzine.com/news/video-ekanoos-khalid-mohammed-uninjured-in-terrifying-crash/
  5. I got a new click bang toy :)
  6. And that's the thread folks, good night, drive safe
  7. There is not a big difference between The Shadown, both Bad9er cars, and a Pro Mod. I might or might not have taken some pictures inside of each and they are just a stock body hung on a chassis with a VIN tag.
  8. I don't *think* Stevie went that quick, that might have been the black vette with the screw blower (this was their first race too). The first two days being so cold killed testing and any chance at there being a 3 second pass. With no real heat in the track its hard do turn the wick up. I thought Mills had the best chance until he put that fucking car into low orbit :lolguy: Glad he was okay, but that was one of the more scary things I've seen at the track. If that car would have cleared the wall it would have been a whole different ballgame as far as if he would have walked away. That car is already in the shop and getting fixed, their goal is to be at the 2nd NMCA race of the year and try to win the title :fuckyeah:
  9. The amount of tech that is showing up in these cars at the higher levels is just crazy. My bold prediction for next year is all the major players will move to screw blowers after Stevie Fast showed up with a brand new and untested combo and donkey stomped the field.
  10. I'm working on editing the rest of my shots now, wait until you see these...
  11. I filled up with gas outside of Knoxville TN and made it to Galloway OH on that tank with 33 miles to spare, with driving through some of the mountains. Based on making this trip a few times I used the handy dandy fuel economy display in the HUD to make sure I did not miss my pit window and cut it close to running out. The guy I was doing coverage with rode to and from the track with me and he even said "damn, these seats are not comfortable at all" and we were only driving 5 miles between the hotel and track
  12. I'm sorry if you don't like my real world review, wait, no I'm not. I've ridden and driven more fleet level trucks I would say than just about anybody on CR after working in the car rental industry for years. I think all the base model interiors are the same in Chevy trucks, cloth (until you step up to the leather), soooo that would also take the tater out of my comparison.... I've ridden in and driven more trucks to race tracks than most people do so I'm pretty damn sure I know a thing or two about what a comfortable truck feels like and what junk feels like The fact is the truck has a junk interior that is about as comfortable as watching your mom and dad fuck.
  13. Yes, feel was worse than the ergonomics overall. The material quality, fit, and finish were not bad but it was a base work truck model. For the money the truck costs new I would expect better. Dodge interiors back when I drove a lot of them were bland, but always comfy. I've sat shotgun and in the back of Ray's truck for who knows how many miles and was a nice ride. Hell, I've slept in that truck without issue, but could not do it in the Ford.
  14. I had a reservation for a tiny car lol.
  15. Chevy and Dodge. I have logged a ton of miles ridding in chevy trucks and never had my back hurt this bad. When I used to work at enterprise and drive about every kind of car known to man the Chevy trucks had the most comfortable interior, the dodge hemi was a close second, and ford was always terrible. It was a base model fleet type truck since it was a rental.
  16. So I got a free upgrade to an F-150 for my trip to Georgia this past week. After putting some serious miles on the beast here are my thoughts: Looks: Well, it looks like a Ford F-150, not to ugly, not to pretty, just a truck. Ride and Drive: The truck really did ride and drive very nice. It had plenty of rip when I mashed the loud peddle to pass on the freeway, did not beat me to death, and was responsive for a truck. Gas Mileage: I was able to get about 400 miles or so out of a tank of gas. Interior: I would rather be locked in a room with a screaming baby and a crossfitting hipster talking about his beard, craft beer, and workout than ride in the truck again. The lack of comfort spoils the amount of room and how quiet the truck was, just terrible. Another annoying thing is the cup holders or lack there of up front. The radio controls on the steering wheel also suck, but the sound system is actually good. We tested it by blasting Metal Church's cover of Highway Star. The two power ports and the USB port were also nice for charging phones, GPS, and erotic devices. Overall Wagner Rating: 3 out of 5 just because the interior was that bad. If you are looking at getting Ford Tough don't get the base model, you will hate life more than being hung over in a church pew on Easter Sunday. Happy motoring :fuckyeah:
  17. So I finally caught a second to update my gallery. http://www.dragzine.com/photos/event-coverage/drag-racing-event-coverage/photo-extra-lights-out-6-buzzin-the-tower/ I've got a ton more to edit and add, plus another 16 hours of racing to shoot today :fuckyeah: Make sure to check out out same day coverage. http://www.dragzine.com/race-coverage/drag-radial-events/lights-out-6-same-day-coverage-from-south-georgia/ If you get a second please also like, follow, and share these on social media. CR will get to see ALL the shots I am taking later on, and trust me I've got a few next level gangster shots I'm saving
  18. Its been cold, my face is wind burnt as hell, and I hate people with cell phones that get in my way while I'm trying to do my job. I don't know if it showed on the live feed but I straight dropped a guy with an accidental elbow to the junk on the starting line. Fucker was up there just taking video with his iPhone, not paying attention, I swung around to get a shot and blasted him
  19. There will be more breaking on this today from what I heard on our conference call today. Everyone here at the track is laughing at the NHRA right now. I don't think the NHRA knows what's about to happen next.
  20. I would be more worried about this being used as a test the waters type deal to see how much they can take or bend the law. Its just your standard end around dirty political play by a certain portion of our .gov, would you expect anything less?
  21. Not all lambo owners are like him, however his epic douche nature could be catching up to him in a major way soon.
  22. Yep, a track built by a racer, run by racers, for racers.
  23. That depends on mother nature, and as we all know she is a real cunt to northern ohio racers. The last I heard they want to get the track open ASAFP since there is supposed to be an IHRA National Event there this year. I have also been told they will do grudge racing and open track stuff similar to Milan on some saturday nights. If this track goes as planned it WILL rival Norwalk in quality and construction.
