  3. Two officers one citizen equals a fine. The reason, I'm so smart I got stopped by two state troopers in Wapakoneta, OH last month. They stopped me for going 35 in 25mpg zone. Like you I had no idea the speed limit was 25, I thought it was 35. The officer that came up to me while I was in my truck ask me why I was not wearing my seat belt. I had the belt under my shoulder and showed him I had it buckled. The other officer comes up and started giving me attitude about why they stopped me. Long story short the first officer who was a nice guy said he would let me off with a warning. To my surprise the first officer comes back hands me a ticket for not having my seat belt buckled. I told him I thought I was getting a warning. He said for the speeding not for the seat belt. I considered fighting it because my belt was buckled. I would have to make two trips to Wapa so I just paid the $80 fine. 2 officers equals a fine. Since you have to make a court appearance, I would point out the errors on the ticket. You might win or get a reduced fine. Good luck.
  4. Jeff Beck, Rock n Roll Party. Mr. Gary US Bonds lead vocal on this track New Orleans with Mr. Leo Green on sax.
  5. Rolling Stones, Exile On Main St. Rocks Off. I was living in Detroit in 1972 and went to The Stones Concert with my Ex-wife. She fell asleep during the show, we were separated at the time and were trying to work things out. We didn't work things out and I could not wait to put her on the first flight out of Motown.
  6. The fourth annual British Car & Bike day was held at the PUB in Beavercreek, OH on Sunday 8/19/12. A splendid time was had by all.
  7. Traders World, there is a booth called Monkey Business, and I think the flee market on the other side of 75 has some booth's that sell vinyl as well.
  8. For those living in the Dayton, OH area and you want to check out a bike night, the Quaker Steak & Lube might be worth a look. My wife and I had dinner there last night and the food and service was excellent. I had not been to the Lube in about a year and haven't been to a bike night in over three years. The Lube use to be the place for bike night until Jack Arse Flats started their bike night on the same night. The Lube moved their bike night to Thursday night and to be honest the ones I went to weren't to hot. The Lube has moved their bike night back to Wednesday night. A fellow Dayton RAT Pack rider attended a couple of the Lubes Bike Night's this riding season and enjoyed it. I spoke to Polly Luttrell, Marketing Activities Coordinator and suggested they start promoting a Euro and Japanese bike night as most of the Harley crowd goes to JAF's. She said she thought that was a good idea and would consider doing it. FYI. The Lube servers are very nice pretty young ladies. I will be attending their bike night tonight and see how it goes. __________________
  9. This is the 4th year that our RAT Pack has put this raid together. Triumph used to do this raid but stopped in 2007. I don't feel the Dragon is overblown but it is too crowed on the weekends and has riders who in my i m h o need to use some motorcycle manners. Slow riders please move over and riders don’t cross the yellow line. I've found the local motorcyclist in that area will show you some great routes and tell you abut good places to eat, visit, etc. Ohiomike, if you want to learn more about this. Please vist britrider.com, www.TheDragonRaid.com and see raid photos at http://photobucket.com/2011DragonRaid .
  10. JC, did you make it to this years raid?

  13. My Triumph Bonneville, is 10 years old and my Sprint ST is 5 years old.
  14. Smoking, doo rags, riding slow, loud pipes and riding from tavern to tavern. Priceless.
  15. The Wheels Through Time MC Museum is a must vist. Plan on spending some time there. There is a great French restaurant in Franklin. Hope you have a good trip.
  16. His picture was posted at the Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort in the area where you buy shirts and other souvenirs. As stated I don't know if he still has it but according to the notation on the photo he did have it at one time. Bud
  17. James, at one time the fastest time through the Dragon was held by a Goldwing. I don't know if that is still the case. Don't kid yourself some riders on Cruisers can can handle the Dragon. Last September during our Triumph Dragon raid it seamed to me that more autos and slow moving bikers moved over or pulled off. On the other hand some of the riders in our group complained about the slow barges not moving over. The main issuse I have is the barges crossing over the yellow line into my lane. Our Triumph Dragon Raid this year is 9/12/11-9/17/11. I put a post in the Event Forum and you can go to Britrider.com for more info. All type bikes are welcome to join the Raid.
  18. Iron Horse Motorcycle Lodge Stecoach, NC. Telephone 828-479-3864 Email Info@ironhorse.com Good place and great people. Have a good trip.

  20. Thanks guys for the comments. I tried to post 4 pictures but was told I did not have enough space. Here is my P for the game,
  21. Sometimes you plan a riding route which looks great on paper or GPS for those who are in the 21st century, then you ride the route and it SUCKS. I planned a route to Parkersburg, WV to get the letter P for the Triumph Go Your Own Way Game on Britrider and I am happy to say I got this route right. I wanted to get on the road at 6:00am I missed my goal by 20 minutes. The thing about getting an early start on a Sunday morning is you have most of the road to you and your bike. Not a lot of cagers out at that hour. The route is as follows. Route 35 to Washington Court House to route 22 and needless to say this was slab city. Routes 22 to Circleville to route 56, things are starting to get better. There are some nice sweepers on route 22. Route 56 to Laurelville it is now time for breakfast at the Old Town Diner. The only problem with stopping at the Old Town Diner this time of day is that it is too early for their fried chicken dinner. After a ham and eggs breakfast I pick up route 180 to 33. 180 is a fun road and it has fresh asphalt “virgin pavement.” Route 33 is boring but I’m not on it long. I turn on to route 550 and start having fun again. Route 550’s pavement is a little rough but it’s no big deal for the Sprint’s suspension. I take 550 to Chesterville to route 555. The Triple Nickel is a great road with a lot of turns, warning a lot of the turns aren’t marked. I guess the state of Ohio ran out of road sign money or the crew putting up the turn signs just got tired of putting signs up. Route 555 to route 50 to Parkersburg where I try and find a sign that has Parkersburg, WV on it. I’m in downtown Parkersburg and the only sign I find that has Parkersburg on it is an old auto dealership. I head out of Parkersburg and pick up Ohio route 124 which runs along the Ohio River a nice scenic ride. I stop at a convenient grocery for a PPS ( pee, pop & snack). Four riders pull in for a break one is on a 2001 Sprint and he has a mesh riding jacket like mine. I tell him nice jacket and we start talking bikes and roads in the area. He is retired like me and has four bikes. I tell him about some of the roads I have been riding and the way I am going back to Dayton. He shows me a different route and I tell him I will ride it. I take route 124 to route 144 to Stewart where I take route 329 to route 550 to route 690 back to route 50. This is the change suggested as I was going to ride 329 back to 50. This cut out about six miles of slab time on route 50. Route 329 and Route 690 are good roads. I take route 50 through Athens and pick up route 56 back to Laurelville. I take a long look at the Old Town Diner and think chicken but I’m making good time and I want to get home in time to see some of the World Cup finals. Needless to say it was a great way to spend a Sunday.
