  1. First I took my nephews pw80 into motorcycle maxx on 23 to get the rear tube replaced and the carb adjusted. They told me it would be 5 days. I gave them 10 days then called they put me on hold for 20 min then I hung up because I had to get into work. I was pretty pissed at this point so I gave it a few days before I called back on day 15. They answered and said they would get to it ASAP. Were at day 22 now.

Last Monday I dropped my stratoliner off at iron pony to get an insurance estimate and repairs. They told me they would get me an estimate in 3-4 days, then wait probably 3 days for the insurance to check it out then order parts about 3 days then repair it. I took it to IP because I've heard great thing's about them lately and I assumed they would be fastest due to their large service bay and parts availability. Well I called them Friday day 4 they said they hadn't got to it yet but would have the estimate done Saturday night. I called today (day 8). They said "uhh we haven't got to it yet but will get to it tonight."

Now I understand these places are busy but don't tell me its going to be 5 days when its actually going to be at least twice as long. Then when I call don't bullshit me about the time it will get looked at. If I don't hear anything by tomorrow I'm going to go visit them in person before work and try to come to an understanding about when it will be done.

  2. We've made several pit stops Harley guys no where to be found. We also lost a squid.

The reason no harleys were seen was we stopped to help my squid friend lol. Glad yall had fun. Thanks to the guys that took over the sport bike group I did not expect that big of a turn out, I was a little overwhelmed.

  3. route update, leave Marysville McDonald's on 31 around 845 900, 33 to 270 to 70 east to 33 east to the business route, top off gas at sunoco at coonpath rd + 33, arrive at ihop around 1015 eat. Take 33 to fairgrounds street to 37 to 555 follow detour 555s to chesterhill stop for a rest/water/regroup at 555+377 then 555 to 550 to Athens, go through Athens to 56 get gas at marathon then take 56 to jimbos eat then 56 to 23n ( people split off where they need to now) to 270w to 33 back to Marysville

  4. Ok so ihop doesn't take reservations. So if someone gets there first or is willing to get tgere early and reserve a table for 20 that would be awesome. If the waiting too long we can grab some fast food after we meet up.

  5. I'd like to make a reservation at ihop so we don't have a long wait here's who I have as coming and where they plan to meet. If your name doesn't have a number beside it it means I haven't reserved a seat for you because I'm not sure your coming. If there is a question mark by your name it means I don't know where your meeting up with us or if your still coming.

  6. I won't be going because of my bike's newest problem, but I do have a rant. OR seems to be the only place where group rides (just from reading the forums) still get separated into those who like to ride fast and then everybody else. Aren't all inclusive group rides supposed to be an enjoyable ride for everyone to ride together? If you want to ride fast, then just organize a ride with people who like to ride fast. From reading other threads, it seems like every opportunity to get together is a dick measuring contest.

I'll be honest and admit that it makes me second guess going on rides just because I know I will be slower. I wouldn't want to damper anyone's style and ruin their ride because they have to go slower because of me. Last thing I would want to hear once the ride is over is about how so and so wanted to go fast and do twisties, but couldn't because of the cruisers or certain individuals.

I'm not sure if people are joking around or if they are serious when they discuss these things. All I know is that it doesn't seem like it would be much fun if not everyone rides at the same pace and enjoys themselves regardless. End of rant. Should this go into rants and raves?

Well I'm all for riding your own pace if you don't its a little too dangerous. When I organize a ride I'm not a ride Nazi as long as everyone is being safe. I tell people at the start if you think I'm going too slow go ahead and pass me just make sure its safe to do so. When we get in the curves a ask that everyone goes single file in the twisties so no one feels crowded. I don't wait at every stop sign for the slower riders if there are a lot but I don't make a turn onto another road without the whole group being present. I try not to leave anyone behind but I dont care if people ride ahead when it comes down to it were all adults and people can do as they please.

Yes I think a more appropriate place for this should be the rant and rave thread, not the middle of the ride thread. Sorry you can't make it.

  7. Ok,

I'm not seeing anything as far as the start point being changed from Mcedees in Marysville. I also only know of the one that is just off 33 / 36, hopefullythis is still go.

I plan on being there by 8:30 for the hook-up. If this is still good, no reason to respond, but if different, please poist.

See you all in the morning, ride safe all.

    Greg

17781 State Route 31, Marysville trust me its there.

  8. that why you should pre-ride the route. furthermore, if its a 555 run, why not meet somewhere on 555? for example, zanesville. meeting 50miles from where the ride starts seems like a waste of time. i'll be riding 555 tomorrow. zanesville to barlow. then heading back to capital city by way of athens and the hocking hills. hopefully i'll cya guys along the way. g-luck and ride safe.

You asked where on 555 does the ride start not where does the ride start. I took that as, where are you planning to get on 555?. Heck the ride starts at my house for me. The reasons for meeting in Lancaster is its central to myself and my friends that are going, ihop is awesome and there's not many around us, the route to zanesville and the north side off 555 is boring and a waste of time. Lancaster to 555 by 37 is a good route (my preferred route) so the ride starts here as a group and goes to 555. No need to pre ride the route its not a race and its never set in stone you can always adjust it as needed. It's about the ride not the destination. This was an open invite for people who want to meet up for some good riding, good food, good friends and fun. You don't have to join us, but be safe have fun and enjoy.

  9. Yes sportbikes are welcome I have 2 maybe 4 friends riding sportbikes on this ride.

As far as the route closure I'm too tired to look into it right now (too much overtime) but we can follow the detour or I can try to find my own when I'm more awake.

  10. Hey Cooter, do you have a route planned yet? We may have a group of us meeting at my house (just southeast of Lancaster) around 10-11 am. We could possibly meet up somewhere along the line, unless they would like to go to IHOP too. I'll find out and let ya'll know.

I edited the first post to show the plan.

  11. Well.. I suppose i will do my monthly log in.. Been having problems lately and its just easier to not see everyone posting, and having fun. You dont care about all that.. You care about ice cream!

From Westerville.. Head out past the zoo, stay along the East side of the river... And there is (or used to be) a really nice ice cream place out in Prospect. I havent been there for awhile.

Not sure of all the names of roads..from memory it would be.. Straight North down riverside/257. There are several little pull off areas down there.. Several are good for pictures, or picnics. Personally, I like the last one the best.. I believe it is Park P. Also, there is the Scioto Park, depending where at you jump on riverside from. It's always nice to get a pic in front of the Leatherlips statue. That thing is pretty cool.

Go Straight across Rt42 to Klondike rd. Not much traffic from here on out. (Sadly, since I have been very inactive lately.. But Cooter lived just a few minutes from there.. He still might. I won't name the actual road due to his privacy!)watch for rough roads from here to prospect. Nothing to worry about unless your trying to speed.

Take that all the way to rt36. Turn left down 36 for a few hundred ft.. And then turn Rt onto... warrenrd (name might be wrong). You will come to a stop sign about 2 miles down the rd. There are some nice orange flowers by the bridge there. Usually, the trees (some are Mulberry trees if you like those) on the other side of the road, can provide enough shade if you need a break.

Turn Rt. ontowarrensburg rd. Less than a mile, sharp right hander (15 or 25mph type), then a couple hundred feet up a hill you,

Turn Left onto Hodges rd. Another mile down the rd,

Turn Left on 37, for maybe 500ft.

Turn Right onto River Rd. The first mile there, is almost like you are driving through a tunnel of trees. It's probably my favorite part. There is a small pull off area for pics along the river.. Or often you can just park in the center on the rd. for pics.I wouldn't due to blind corners and traffic Anyways, you get to stay on River rd for probably 10 miles now. There is a stop sign, you cross over Radnor rd, and there is a Y in the road, you just stay left. Real easy.

You run into a stop sign at 203/main st, you turn Left for .1 miles or so,

then branch off to your Right onto Elm St.

It's less than .5 miles down the road, on your left hand side. I don't remember then name off hand.

Notable mentions. Waldo is close to Prospect.. They have the semi-famous G&R tavern. Famous for fried bologna sandwiches of all things.

to get to waldo from prospect follow these directions to the y at elm after that turn right on 47, take it till it dead ends turn left. This will run you into waldo. There are 3 restaurants and 1 ice cream shop here, all worth the trip.

There is also a Blues Creek Preserve, (outside of ostrander) and a Galant Nature Preseve (few miles NW of delaware) both are a nice little quiet place to stop. They both have little hiking trails as well.

From Scioto park, to Prospect.. Going the speed limit, (which is under 55 in several places), I would guess it would be a 1 hour ride, each way. It is just a nice, easy, laid back, scenic type of route, with usually very little traffic. It is at it's best, during spring and fall, when the flowers are blooming, and the leaves are changing. Women really seem to enjoy that route from my experience. It's also a popular route for bicycles. Last I was on those roads.. There was some gravel in a couple of the curves, but going the speed limit, I had no problem avoiding any of it.

If I managed to screw up the names of the roads.. I'm sorry.. The turns should be accurate though! If you can't figure it out on google, let me know. It's a good way to spend a couple hours, or could make a day of it if you wanted to stop at some of the parks. Blues Creek Presere is a pretty nice place to stop, but the bathrooms are horrible! Galant Nature Preserve has normal bathrooms, but not as big of a place as Blues Creek!

If you need one.. It is within my current mileage range, and I could play tour guide.. Or I'm sure Cooter knows all those roads too!

    :busa:

I added some input. If any of yall are planning on coming out this way give me a shout I may be down to ride.

  12. so, is this going to still happen?

    I live near 42/33.

Yes this ride is still going on. But we may be meeting up off of 31 probably at the McDonald's at about. 8:45. Then ride to ihop in Lancaster and eat about 10:15. I'd like to get a head count of who's going so I can try to reserve us a table.

  13. Does anybody know where I can buy a clutch kit for an 83 kawasaki ltd 550. I would like a local place that may have one in stock. We used to have a great shop in town but they shut down I think. They are never open. I'd order online but is like to put it in before Saturday night and shipping is never reliable.
