In high school, I had a72 Olds cutlass Supreme. Later on I owned a 1951 Mercury with a V8 Flathead. My wife said I loved the car more then her. After years of that, I sold it. Then got a 1950 Dodge 4 door. My wife started nagging again. Sold it and bought my Shadow. It stays. Machines dont nag. And when you treat them right they take you where ever you want to go.

Im a father of a 24 yr old daughter and a 20 yr old son. I ride and they dont. If they wanted to, as their parent I would naturally be protective and warn them of the dangers, and (dont do as I do...) but I would also respect their judgement and it might even be cool to ride with them. But as parents we are naturally protective because we love our kids. Its just that sometimes it comes out as "Your going to kill yourself on that dam thing" And then we think to ourselves,OMG I sound like my parents.

Hello. New to all of this. Im 52, and decided one day I wanted to ride. So I went and bought a 2004 Honda shadow aero 750 about 1 1/2 years ago. I havent gotten a license yet. Figured I will take the dmv course this year . Once I am legal, I plan to do a lot of out of state trips. Till then maybe make some new friends here .
