Ya dude i found a scorpion stinger perf leather jacket for 150bux. Its in red and black so it'll def match my bike. I saw an alpinestar too which was 180 but was red/black/white, didnt match as well. I heard the scorpion quality is pretty good too, so i think ill go with that one since it matches better.

Thanks for all the advice guys... Obviously my first choice is to get a leather jacket, Im just seeing what my options are. If i can find a decent leather jacket for a good price then ill get it. And if i see a textile jacket i like, i just dont wanna regret buying it haha... ... That being said, you guys prefer any brands? Any brands to steer away from?

Well my question isnt leather gear or no gear... My Question is would mesh/textile suffice at those speeds.

Oh ya i have no prob spending that much more on leather... but when i see prices like 300+... im like whoa i dunno if thats all that necessary for me yet. I dont think ive gone past 45mph haha

Is there any difference between a name brand jacket and gettn a generic one? Or is it just preference and the technology is all that matters?

Thanks for the insight guys... ... Well ive been lookn around and any leather jacket i find is always 250-300+. Plus i want one that looks good with my bike haha

My buddy is offering to sell me his mesh joe rocket jacket for $140... One catch though, he's been in an accident which wasnt severe. He sent me pix of the jacket and they look good. I heard that mesh are only good for one get off and lose their durability after that. I was just seeing what you guys think... Because his accident wasnt that bad, so I dunno if its even worth getting a used jacket like that. I want to invest in a leather jacket but its a lil out of my price range for now lol... Hey everybody. Just puttin up a small intro cuz my buddy recommended this site... Im a new rider, just bought a 2005 yamaha R6. Im 23 and live in dayton area. Most likely be moving to Athens, oh for school this late summer/fall. My bike is mostly stock, has a yoshi pipe, roll cage, and some super bald rear tires. So if anyone knows a good place for tires and where to get them replaced im all ears. Anyway Im excited about learning new things through this site and look forward to advice/comments!
