  1. Super gangster dude! Give me a call if you would like another set of hands to help with the bazzaz install, when I put mine in it helped that my GF has tiny hands lol. I'll probably be giving you call when I come back to Ohio and have you educate me on tires for my 1kRR.

  2. Went to the iron pony with my girlfriend yesterday (she was buying a helmet) and she surprised me by buying me my birthday present. So I decided to go with the sena smh10r headset/intercom system. First impressions: very very low profile, easy to use buttons (I wear thicker teknic full gauntlet gloves), and sound quality is great. I had her get next to me in her car and spun the 1000 north of 100mph for a breif second and kept asking if she could hear me and to my surprise, she could! I couldn't hear anything other than the majestic sounds escaping through my arrow gp pipe however. Might switch the system over to my rkt101 carbon helmet though and see how well the quakity works as that helmet flows a massive amount of air. Its currently put in my scorpion exo1000 and I hate that helmet but, its warmer on cool nights.

  3. I wouldn't recommend NESBA for someone who has never been on the track before. Thereafter, I like their group structure and passing rules better though.

PIRC is probably cheaper than Mid-Ohio. Watch out for the kart track though. You wouldn't want to get in the habit of using a steering wheel or pick up some other tendency that will surely impair your ability to ride a full-sized bike.

cars, carts, bikes, and boats all make me smile.

  4. I see there are multiple opinions on this matter, and I can see from both sides.  I do tend to agree with Brian though, I am not sure I would ever want to track my couch at CRP....but a mini bike would be a completely different story.

  5. I did the corner 9 suite package deal thingymajigg and it is worth every penny, just as an FYI for people reading this and have already started planning out next year.  Free breakfast, lunch, snacks, and of course, drinks.  It was also nice to have a nice A/C to cool off after spending majority of the day in the sun, and then they also had a free gear check so your stuff didnt need to get left on your bike or burden you by making you tote it around all weekend.  We also had corner 9 grandstand seating(right next to the Ducati tent) and it included paddock passes and such.  I will have to get my pictures put up when they are off the camera(s).       Sorry about the hijack!

Edit: also gets you the ride on the track ticket!  And they dont care to much about the 30mph limit written on the back of the ticket ;)

  6. Oh it's fun.

Don't ride like a total yahoo, listen to what your coach says, apply what your coach says, don't ride out of your comfort level, you'll be fine.

You guys have me convinced! I am going to try and get into one of the novice days in September, who knows, maybe the woman will get it for me for my bday coming up...

  7. I did an STT day (my third track day ever) where Craig was one of the coaches. After the 1st session parade laps, the novice leader asked everyone "who wants to go faster?" (We had barely hit highway speeds on the straights)

Everyone gave an enthusiastic "yes," but she was petrified. She had about 100 miles on her brand new GSXR 600, and didn't want to go any faster.

So they found an "extra" coach, and she rode 55 on the straights all day.

    You'll be fine.

tbh, 55 doesnt seem fun to me.  But I understand what you are saying.  I just dont want to let the speed racer part of my persona get the best of me and I wind up in the kitty litter

  8. You shouldn't ever get pushed into a pace on the track, you show up and ride your pace they will find a group to put you in that rides close to the same. I have seen riders with 100 miles under their belt show up so as long as you can ride it you are good.

sweet thanks.  I may try and get into one of the track days in september at mid ohio

  9. I have been thinking about doing a track day for a while now, and am curious to know about them a little bit.  I am not overly confident in my riding but it is my understanding that these will help with it.  How hard do you get pushed? I really don't want to take a chance on laying my bike down, but I want to enjoy the day.

  10. Had my bike tuned last night by Brian.  I have had my bike for a little over a year and this is the first time that I can honestly say that I am 100% happy about where my bike is right now.  He was able to get me into his shop for a tune last night despite me being available at a very inconvenient time.  Great conversation and he actually explained to me what was going on during the process instead of just telling me what time I could pick it up.  Looking forward to my next mod simply so I can get back in there.  Thanks again dude, words cannot show how appreciative I am for the work last night.

  11. I just purchased a bazzaz fuel managment system for my 2012 cbr1000rr from nathan at riders discount, excellent service btw highly recommend him for all your goodies, and was doing some lurking on fireblade . org and a few other forums and it seems like 90% of the bikes need an o2 eliminator to make it work right. But heres the kicker, I cant find anything on the bazzaz requiring it, just the pc3/v. Do I need one? Or is bazzaz a magical box that the gurus have bypassed the need for the eliminator?

    Thanks

  12. This?

    taser-27.jpg

    I love tazers

Unfortunately, that is specifically mentioned in the rules as a nono

I'm not allowed to carry at work either, but at any given moment I am ~150yds to my car to scoot out

    This thread is retarded.

    helpful(sarcasm)

Idk about Hondas but the timing retard eliminators on zooks are plug and play, they send a false signal to the ecu telling it the bike is in top gear so it doesnt retard the ignition in the lower gears.

Seems like you should be able to find a map editor fairly easily online or find someone on the firebkade forum who has a map you can flash.

    Helpful(seriously, thanks)

Thread fail. No mention of Magley. :nono:

    Ratards don't get mentioned

  13. I purchased a dyno jet ignition retard controller for my 2012 cbr1000rr under the assumption that a PC isn't needed to install it. Based on what I read on numerous forums, it wasn't needed. However I started reading the instructions to get it installed and it says I have to go into my map and add some factors in after 9000rpm. Ayone have any experience with this? I called DTM and spoke with Brian, but he was wrapped up in something and never got back with me though I left him my number.

    Thanks
