So next question, what is ACC, or where is ACC?
-
Clicked on the link, but was expecting track info, and only saw info on GPS devices, timers, etc. So I googled sportbike track time, and still didnt find what expected. Didnt realize they were a sponsor, as opposed to a track like Putnam or Mid Ohio.
Thanks for the info

Do it on the 12th or 13th with the rest of us and its only 125 and will be more organized and more geared to imrpoving your skills.
Dont see this day listed in the track forums. Am I just missing it?

I added you idodishez Just show up, it's a good time meeting new riders and being part of a HUGE group that you NEVER see around Ohio much when it comes to sportbikes or hell Harley riders unless it's some charity event. It's pretty damn amazing seeing all these bikes together riding. I'm sure many people that see us have something to talk about during dinner because of us. "Damn, you wouldn't believe how many bikes I saw at once today!"
Gettin goosebumps:)
So far since Ive moved to Ohio, I've only ridden w Cruiser riders from church. will be nice to be among fellow sportbike riders.

Forgive the possibly obvious for a non newbie, but exactly where is STT located? Im looking for a track day, and have been looking at Mid Ohio, and have been to Putnam. Is SST similar? This thread references Memorial day weekend. Is there a track day planned for that weekend? If so, I dont see any location, time, etc. Just that if you show w an Ohio ID you get a discount. Where can I get more info on SST and/or the Mem day weekend track day?

Put me down (its OK, I can take it) as a maybe.

BTW....theres a trackday I'd love to do at putnam may 30th....
Slight derail... Ive been to Putnam, bit not to Mid Ohio yet. Are they similar? Looking for training/teaching right now more than an "open track"

*waving hiiiiii
Matter of fact, the dayton-area people are putting a ride together Memorial day weekend... look in the Southwest category, hope to see you there )
Think I just might try to make it to this.

Not sure if this is the right area, but I just wanted to introduce myself. Im from Springboro, and ride an '06 ZX10. If anyone lives nearby and has rides planned, please feel free to post.
Newb track rider question

Ive had a ('91) ZX7 for almost 10 years. I bought it as a salvage, and rebuilt it. Never did feel totally safe on it, as there was always something wrong w it. Antifreeze leaks (THAT'LL make you fill your shorts on a turn), slipping chains (yes, I said slipping), crappy carbs, head shake, and the list goes on. So I never really felt safe even remotely "pushing" it. I finally got a newer ('06) ZX10 this year. Finally feel safe riding now.
Now, I plan on going to either Putnam or Mid Ohio this year. Ive been to Putnam, but only as an observer, while a friend rode my ZX7. (I Didnt have leathers or the funds) Problem Im facing..... Do i take the ZX7 and not feel safe (and do as much as I can before I go to make it as safe as possible until the next "issue") or do I take the ZX10 and feel totally safe? If the ZX7 goes down, its not a huge deal. Its an older bike and I wont be heartbroken if it goes down. The ZX10 is near flawless, and I would HATE for it to go down.
How routine is it for riders to go down on the track, esp as newbies? My friend went down at Putnam when riding my ZX7, so Im inclined to think its not that uncommon. (Only broke the clutch lever)
Thoughts?
