Piece of cake on the head! Make sure to take it to the machine shop and have it pressure tested for cracks and then milled to insure that it is flat. If it got that hot to pop a gasket I would be worried about a cracked head as previously mentioned. The timing is straight forward, just make sure to turn the engine over by hand a few times to double check that it is lined up right! The only thing you may need is a angle gauge for when you torque the head bolts.

I was taught to own up when you fu$ked up...that being said wiggle room only works if you know the system or pay someone that knows the system. Would I roll over and take the hit? Depends if I had liability insurance or full coverage and how many points I had at the time. Personally I would call the DA and ask a few questions and then call an attorney for a free consultation. By the way I avoided jail once for doing 100 MPH in a 45 and it only cost me 2 points and $500. That was 20 yrs ago and I sweated it the whole time I was at the court house. 300 miles from home, police escort to the county court house, car in someone else's name and no insurance! Luckily for me the Judge was at lunch and didn't want me to wait or deal with me. It hurt writing that check, but it was less painful than getting the car impounded and a jail cell. I was in a shit%y mood the other night when I posted....Sorry. So test the waters and see what the possibilities are and go from there. Worse case is you need to spend $500 on an attorney to get out of it.

On the V65's the issues are as follows: 1) Battery (if it is the battery test the charging system) 2) Kill Switch 3) Starter Solenoid 4) wiring harness that plugs into the Solenoid 5) Starter Now you need a multimeter and a service manual to test the components. What is the voltage when you starter button? What is the voltage when the bike isn't running? What is the voltage at 5k with the bike running? If it is the starter there is a guy selling rebuild kits on ebay. If you need help hit me up in a pm with a phone #!

Actually I did when I was 6-8 and it was down hill on the way home! We lived less than a mile from school. My point is that he has to figure out what the basics are and sacrifice to get where he needs to go. I went back to night college when I was 29. I had a family and other life interests. I sacrificed things to get the education that I wanted. Priorities have to be organized to accomplish what you want in life. Hard to do when your young. Some understand and most don't. Hell even at my age it is hard to sacrifice. The only thing that keeps me in line at times is my wife and her rolling pin! BTW I am not that old as the the first sentence makes me sound!

Just pay the ticket and take your lumps! The certificate from class is not an endorsement! It is possible for the Police Officer to look up your information while running your plate. The plate will return all the information on the registered owner. If the person operating the vehicle does not match the description, the Police Officer has resonable suspicion that something is not as it should be. Thus giving him cause to pull you over and ask questions. When he/she does this they are on a fishing expedition and YOU need to be the nicest person that you can be with out bribing them. How do I know this? I have a good friend that is with one of the local PD's and is high up in the food chain. He and I have had very good talks on subjects like this. He proved this by having an on duty officer run a plate for the scout group we took to police station. It just happened to be my plate. So when he ran your plate he knew that you were not a LEGAL operator for passengers. BTW did you happen to have your certificate from class on you? I would have pulled out my license, certificate, registration and insurance card and handed them all to him and said..." I was going to go 1st thing Monday morning! My girlfriend was all excited that I passed the class and we were just headed to the Diary Queen to celebrate." Good luck fighting it! Let us know what the out come is!!

Why did you stop? Never ever stop when someone in the group is getting a ticket! Call the DA or Mayor's office if it is a Mayor's court and ask to plea it down.

You know what......I worked full time, went to night college 3 nights a week, bowled in 2 leagues and was a single Dad. I did not set foot in my garage for 3-5 yrs, buy anything but books, pay the bills and groceries for the family. Dude your single right? If not get rid of the GF and sell everything you can, bikes included and find a cheaper place to stay. Find the nearest blood center and sell your plasma... The blood centers pay well for that! Life isn't a picnic or fair! Adapt and conquer!

With time the pain eases......the bad memories fade and the good ones return. These emotional painful times in life build character and strength in a person. They also help shape us into what we will become. I lost my Dad in a different, but just as dramatic fashion last year. In the process of taking care of my Mother and getting her through the following months, I lost my siblings through egotistical life long hate filled attitudes. I know how it is not to have family to fall back on, but you will survive. Stay safe and sane, your little one needs a Mom for the rest of her/his life!!
