  1. maybe run your shadow next time? dont have to worry about power steering on it at least If i had known anything about autoX back when all i had was my silverado, i would've tried to run it too!!!! keep on rollin; shiny side up
  2. maybe one day buell's will stop looking like a two-wheeled pile of dog poo.... and maybe one day, they will start putting out the power / liter of late 90's jap bikes... buell really needs to get rid of their design engineers and product managers...the youngest of these guys must be in their late 80's. I'm not sure they have ever seen a YZF-R or a GSXR...and from looking at the crap that comes out of that place, i'm quite sure i'm right.... Any good competitive company will incorporate something called 'benchmarking'...if a competitor is doing something better, copy the competitor....buell / HD does not understand this concept as the jap boys sell 500 bikes for every bike that leaves buell's (read HDs) showroom...common sense would suggest that they are doing it better; copy them. But i suppose that buell will be buell, and we can continue to expect the same crap year after year coming out of that failed company. Now, let me sit back down on my rocker...i.e. SV 650...
  3. that will certainly be the last time i autox on 185 width street tires.... fun as hell though, there will be more in the future! I only need to take 6 seconds off to be competitive with the other SM2 car ....thats a LOT of ground Got lap times down to 46s by the end of the day.
  4. umm....i figured i'd ask before i got completely lost and ended up missing the event altogether.... where is the parking lot at? can someone give me a street intersection or something?
  5. Ty Ed, now I'm Registered LOL, BYOH (Bring your own Helmet) Or we can play on the road a bit...
  6. sms class for me too? 1994 miata 2000 miata head Turbocharged Street Tires
  7. yeah, i figured it to be a hard dog, lol on AARP comment.... would like to meet up with you sometime and sit it in to see how that thing works with a guy who's 6'2"
  8. *Note to self....get tires from Turbo* Ahh, another NA owner....looks like i can relax a bit now Regarding the paint, i think the car was in a garage and under a cover for the first 11 years of its life. Over that time, it averaged about 5500 miles/year. I've nearly doubled that in the last 3 years. Your paint looks damn good in that pic, esp for being 17 years/old. How long ago was that pic? What kind of bar is that and how tall are you? Any issues with it?
  9. I ain't sayin' its not for sale..... But you're probably gonna have to offer a good bit more than what its worth to IOT wrench it from my hands I do like passing the liter bikes when they park them in the corners on the road courses though This bike's seen Mid-O, Gingerman Raceway (Michigan) and Hallet Raceway (Oklahoma)
  10. Seeing as how i'm pretty much worthless to this board w/o rep, i suppose I'll make myself feel more important by putting up some pics of my other toys The toy hauler.... http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e311/morphout/DSCN0750.jpg It's a pain in the butt finding someone who wants to do some REAL jet-skiing...They all want to play on 3-person Barges.... http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e311/morphout/DSCN0749.jpg When i bought the trailer, someone asked me "what the hell are you going to haul in that thing?" I replied: "Whatever the f*ck i want" And here's the 2-wheeler; No flames on the multi-color thing plz, I'm waiting on paint. I just got her back together yesterday and got the full fairing kit on it...For anyone who's wondering WTF kind of bike is that? Its an SV650. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e311/morphout/DSCN0751.jpg
  11. Yes, me thinks whoever designed the original miata was confused on whether they wanted a magic mountain go-kart or a real car Parks like a glove in parallel spots half the size of most
  12. Here's the same tire; under daylight. Notice the shadow being cast over the wear bar by the tread. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e311/morphout/DSCN0742.jpg And a nice day-shot of the car http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e311/morphout/DSCN0745.jpg What sort of auto-x events are there in the area? I only know of the ones BMC hosts.
  13. LOL. I'll be putting snow tires on the stock alloys this winter, new wheels/summer tires should be springtime... Tires still have plenty of room before they reach the wear-bars as they sit. :burn:
  14. lol.... a little dirt never hurt anyone.... well, except that guy; and he had it coming anyways I'll give it a good washdown and snap some shots tomorrow, but as they say, "you can't polish a turd" The car is 14 years old, and so is the OEM paint job. Ive got refinish in mind for next spring, but there's a good chance I'll be deployed in september that'll put new paint off for quite awhile i figure. Wiper blades were put on the car a week after i bought it...in '05. And they haven't topped the priority list for replacement since...i suppose that time is coming quickly though. As for the windshield tag...sorry, it's stickin around for awhile...but if you dont want to look at it, ive got some pretty OEM tail lights
