Howdy and Welcome!

A real American hero! Rest in Peace.

I own nothing but Glocks (I have a 31, which is my duty weapon and a 19, my back-up), but can't do the sub-compact ones as they are too small for my hand. Been carrying Glocks since 1990 and won't own anything else.

Oh, I remember one.....Drive-in movies! Mom and dad would pile us in the car and we'd head out for a double feature.

Remember pay phones outside the convenience store that cost a whopping dime to use? I remember using them to call home to ask if I could stay outside a little longer over at a friend's house.
And playing outside consisted of BB gun wars with real BB guns pumped as many times as you could muster the strength to pump. always left a nice welt.
Oh, and building ramps with scrap wood from the construction sites we'd drag 10 blocks so that we could jump our BMX bikes off of. No one ever wore helmets as those were for motorcycles. Speaking of motorcycles, ChiPs is the reason I wanted to be a cop. Ponch and John always got the ladies.

I would be the first to jump another officer's butt for stopping someone to just check out their ride as THAT is a obscene abuse of power. Now, that doesn't mean I haven't pulled up next to someone in a cruiser and said, "nice bike" or "car".

Not siding either way (even though I used to be one of those "prick" GHPD cops, but here's the law.......no abuse of authority by definition. We all make mistakes too. I've hit the lights before on things like registration stickers that look expired (those damn 7's can look like a 1) only to notice it wasn't when walking up.
4503.21 Display of license plates and validation stickers or temporary license placard or windshield sticker.
(A) No person who is the owner or operator of a motor vehicle shall fail to display in plain view on the front and rear of the motor vehicle the distinctive number and registration mark, including any county identification sticker and any validation sticker issued under sections 4503.19 and 4503.191 of the Revised Code, furnished by the director of public safety, except that a manufacturer of motor vehicles or dealer therein, the holder of an in transit permit, and the owner or operator of a motorcycle, motorized bicycle, manufactured home, mobile home, trailer, or semitrailer shall display on the rear only. A motor vehicle that is issued two license plates shall display the validation sticker only on the rear license plate, except that a commercial tractor that does not receive an apportioned license plate under the international registration plan shall display the validation sticker on the front of the commercial tractor. An apportioned vehicle receiving an apportioned license plate under the international registration plan shall display the license plate only on the front of a commercial tractor and on the rear of all other vehicles. All license plates shall be securely fastened so as not to swing, and shall not be covered by any material that obstructs their visibility.
No person to whom a temporary license placard or windshield sticker has been issued for the use of a motor vehicle under section 4503.182 of the Revised Code, and no operator of that motor vehicle, shall fail to display the temporary license placard in plain view from the rear of the vehicle either in the rear window or on an external rear surface of the motor vehicle, or fail to display the windshield sticker in plain view on the rear window of the motor vehicle. No temporary license placard or windshield sticker shall be covered by any material that obstructs its visibility.
(B) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.

David, we need to take the advanced class for shits and giggles.

Recon, how about those that tailgate bikes or you watch in the rearview come up on you at 40 mph when sitting at a light? Morons.
I actually watched a guy on a bike get rearended a few years back when the woman behind him tried to time his taking off and her slowing down for a light that just changed. the front tire went perpendicular to the ground as he went over the roof. Luckily he was ok. Again, I stress - morons.

R.I.P.......be careful out there!

"so DONT NOT email me"??? Um, nice grammar, Ca-chi.
We should all do it and say that he told us to.

Hmmmm, it's obvious that their previous parenting skills have not worked, so I'm betting this doesn't either.
Some folks should just not procreate.

Sad. If traveling southbound on Olentangy towards Goodale (about 100 yards to the north of the intersection), there's a huge dip in the road that can launch a car traveling at the posted 45 mph speed limit. Be careful there (and everywhere)!

I ride to work most nights (weather permitting) and I work 3rd shift. I typically avoid riding in on Friday nights though as I am leery of being on the road the same time as those leaving happy hour. I also take a "back" route in lieu of my normal freeway route and I've been riding for a few years. Not a big freeway rider anyway as it isn't as enjoyable. With gas prices as they are, I may ride in more often.

There's quite a few down off McKinley Avenue here in Columbus.
And, yeah, been dealing with that type of stuff for 20 years and still never ceases to amaze me.

I'm lazy and didn't read each post all the way through, but can tell you that out of my MCS course, 6 people didn't show the first night out of 12. So, give it a try.

The Columbus Dispatch
LONDON, Ohio -- A Springfield man died when he crashed his motorcycle in Madison County today.
Police say Brandon Wilt, 20, was eastbound on East High Street near Keny Boulevard in London when a tractor-trailor in front of him slowed to turn into a private drive. Wilt crossed the center line into the westbound lane and lost control of his Suzuki motorcycle and it slid into the semi's trailer.
Wilt was wearing a helmet but died at the scene, London Police Chief David Wiseman said. He said the speed of the motorcycle was a factor in the crash, which occurred at 12:47 p.m.
The Dayton Freight semi was driven by Dennis Dreisbach, 62, . Dreisbach, whose address was not available from police, was not injured.
The crash closed the road for more than an hour.
