  1. I was going to take the bike to dayton performance cycles today but didn't end up having the time. Still looking for any help around the area though. I'm not trying to have go anywhere far with a bike thats running purely off the battery power. Alex, I contacted your friend via facebook but he has yet to reply. With all the rain we are supposed to be getting this week I doubt I'll make very much progress with it this week. I'll update though if anything happens.
  2. Ok I really don't want to make this a wall of text, I'll try my best... refer to this thread http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=92438 There are 2 main issues that have prevented me from doing anything more than riding around the neighborhood. As well as various small electrical things...I may be able to fix those myself though. 1. Sometimes if I take the rpms up past 4,000 either full or part throttle the bike will bog down and die. Other times it will bog and then "catch" and then its like oh shit hold on tight! Also...I'll do my best to describe this...sometimes the rpms will ramp up unnecessarily between gears. An example would be on a slow shift between 1st and 2nd. 1st gear...pull in the clutch and rpms fly up to 4,000 (thats an estimate) and stay there. Shift into 2nd and let out the clutch and the rpms settle back to where they should be once in gear. 2. Simply put...the charging system is not charging the battery. I got some help with this on another forum and I bought a new regulator/rect and a replacement harness (factory harness was melted) from OMP. Those parts took about a month from the time I ordered them to the time I got them at my doorstep. Hopefully those parts will fix the problem once installed. The other small stuff is like the factory headlight switch not working...its wired to a makeshift automotive switch currently and the constant on brakelight doesn't work. Small stuff I think...I just haven't been motivated to fix anything with the other problems going on. I went to joes and they said my bike was to old and its a HONDA . Someone help...I wanna ride my bike outside of my neighborhood before the summer is over
  3. Thanks for the comments guys. I said fuck it and drove a cage out to competition accessories for my first time today and bought a black joe rocket phoenix 5.0...pretty happy with it so far. I'll try what was said about the cables...just another thing to add to the list to fix.
  4. Some of you may remember me making a post awhile back saying I would be getting a bike soon. Well..."soon" turned out to be alot longer than I expected. I originally had my heart set on a CBR F3. I still like me some sportbikes but I was looking at pictures online one day of different bikes and the old school bobber style really caught my eye. Plus I think its different that a younger person my age would get something like this instead of sportbike...especially around dayton. Without further delay... 1976 CB 750 Supersport Less than 25,000 miles Thats about it yall. No major issues except the throttle sticks every once ina while. I don't really know exactly what that would be but I'm guessing either fuel system/carbs. Also...I'd like to find some short term field armor type gear (vests, armored shirts) in the dayton area until I'm able to afford a leather jacket. I refuse to get on the highway or any busy roads until then. Any riding buddies out there link up with me. peAce peAce!
  5. Update. Just got mine. December and january 2012 issue came together in the mail yesterday
  6. I've been seeing alot of bike/deer accidents of late...almost more than other kinds of bike accidents. I'm wondering what can be done (mods) to a bike to prevent a deer collision? Loud pipes? Deer whistles attached to your bike? etc? My housing area is known for having alot of deer. They just run out at the PERFECT time almost like they are trying to run into me!
  7. Not much. Got my temps and I learned on my friends older suzuki 550. I'm gonna go the BRC > waiver > written test only route to get my full endorsement. Whoever wants the seca can go ahead. I'm not ready to buy exactly right now but want to this winter season. Also give me time to buy my own full set of protective gear and stuff.
  8. Fuck that dude in the suit. Usually when people are in shock they have to sit down, tunnel vision, incomprehensible. He was walking unassisted just pacing around looking like he was more worried about his car or getting his clothes dirty than to help save a life. Fuck that dude.
  9. Well I registered july of last year and this is my first post, WTF right? Oh well I've spent my time lurking and learning. I've got a cousin and about 5 local friends with sportbikes so it was just a matter of time before I got on the bandwagon. Anyway don't wanna ramble... I plan on pulling the trigger on a bike this winter season. I just want suggestions on the bikes I'm considering as well as any that might not be on my radar. I've been looking for something used, on craigslist and such. Looking to spend around $1000, no more than $2000. My top interest so far is the cbr 600 f1 generation hurricane. I like the looks of it and I'm a honda fan already (I drive a DA integra for any of you honda heads). I've also considered the 1st gen gsx 600F...but its a bit heavier than the cbr. Lastly the early 90s gsx-r...but from what I've seen I don't think those will be in my price range. Correct or not? So yeah just tell me what you think, especially if any of you have dealt with any of these bikes. I'm not looking to have the fastest shit or be a idiot and get myself hurt. I've always had a slight interest...just never jumped in. I only plan modding paint and doing a HID retrofit cause I like HIDs....I just wanna have some FUN.
