    Pd13

Check around Youtube or Facebook for some good links and video. It doesn't get a whole lot of advertising. Last weekends was the 30th anniversary and the 51st PD13. Cool thing is to see all the boats that people arrive by.This year someone flew in with a float plane and parked it on the beach. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0gM6s_xB3Q

Friday the 13th....any Friday the 13th in Port Dover Ontario. It may not have the big name bands and attractions of Sturgis but if you're into motorcycles, this is the place to be. While Sturgis gets 600K bikes over 10 days,Dover gets 100k in one day and by Saturday noon you wouldn't know there was a rally. Haven't had so much fun in a long time.Arrived Thursday and left Saturday.Plenty of bikes, beverages and babes (a few topless ) We met people from NY,KY,MI,Oh and even a group from New Zealand. Those that had been to Sturgis said they enjoyed this more. Billed as Canada's largest motorcycle gathering.Estimated at 85000 bikes this year. Not bad for May and the weather forecast. It actually was amazing.Partly sunny and in the 80s.Literally miles of bikes. Looking forward to July next year. http://www.pd13.com/content/8/Friday-13th-Dates

  4. When you visit the HD forums, stay away from the "showdown" forum. You might not get out of there for days

    Scam?

Ah,but that's what multiple email accounts are for <edit> I've used CL many many times in the past but always use a secondary web-mail for correspondence. Only been tagged by spam once.

    Scam?

If I was still riding go fast bikes and in the market,it certainly couldn't hurt to email the guy and request a looksee.

    Scam?

I agree the pictures are out of date but it's an Ohio tag on the car in the background.

    CL fail

Look at the pictures of the bike. Now check the background. Hint: the house has more wheels than the bike.Nuff said.

Holy Hell i hope English isn't his first language. No Child left behind? That guy didn't make the start line.
  10. My wife was terrified of guns even though she grew up around them. Last fall she took the First Shots course and has never looked back. They start out with 22cal Rugers and if that doesn't work then at least you and her will know. In fact we just went out last week to the range.Looking at a Kahr PM-9 for her and a Kahr P-9 for moi. We're both left handed and the clip release on the Ruger LCP 380 is a little suspect. I'm leaving again in a couple days but when I get back it'll be for a while and we'll take the CCW class.
  11. I work away from home quite a bit and it sucks to leave the wife alone but that little Ruger LCP in the bedside drawer gives me a little more piece of mind while I'm away. I've explained that to a few antis and they usually can't come up with an excuse as to why I shouldn't have it there. The missus and I haven't taken our CCW....yet.(She's a better shot than me ) When we do,I predict twins
  12. Knew my wife was a true biker when she laid the bike down in loose sand in a corner. She and the bike slid a good 50 feet and her first concern was her "baby" and never mind the bruises on her.
  13. That was great. Thanks for the link. A shame they are no longer with us and those were the days as superstar you could do pretty much as he pleased as long as no one got hurt. Today they couldn't fart without it making headlines and it would be a scandal.
  14. Flashing your headlights to warn motorists of speed traps has been a ticketable offense in Canada for decades. My Dad got a ticket over 30 yrs ago and my sister,10 yrs ago. They call it obstruction. Just a HU for anyone traveling there.
  15. No need to "hate to say it" Close your eyes and listen (A little loud for my liking) and the sound might throw you if you didn't know it was a Yamaha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0Ar513pKIY&NR=1
  16. Hehe I can see where my post could be misconstrued. Nah the GW wasn't the go fast bike. The go fast was a '87 Honda 600 Hurricane I rode for about 6 months until back problems forced me to reconsider my options. Went the cruiser route and bought a '84 Virago 1100 that the wife and my back appreciated more but a move to the USA forced me to sell that. After a couple years of spring fever without a ride we bought a '84 CB Custom 1000. Loved that bike but made the mistake of taking the wife for a ride on a GW and trying to please her I traded the CB in on a GW. Rode that for a few years but never had any real connection with that ride. Rode a friends HD Deluxe.....end of story My wife now rides and has a '84 V30 Magna. Great little bike but she's ready for "her" Harley
  17. Harley owner here too. Finally got to an age where the speed demons have left me....for the most part and the wallet could afford one. Sold the GoldWing and haven't looked back. First thing I noticed was how much more plastic the non Harleys I owned had in comparison.
  18. Ron505. I'd love to hear your Raider in action. I used to ride a '84 1100 Virago many moons ago.The Raider is another Yamaha got "right" IMHO. The two into one looks great on yours. Sound like this? : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1UeH3OrVMc&feature=fvw
  19. Sorry for the late response but I'm working out of state and been away from a computer for a while. While it may be true "we" Harley riders may get defensive,if you read the thread with an open mind, you might see a trend and realize why. And just a reminder,I've owned many bikes over the years and in fact still own a Honda. The thread is about loud pipes and no one mentioned anything about brand until the "Harley" rider posted. First it was a "Ban" post from one and then a specific point made against shitbags on "Harleys". 5 pages of guys posting that their rides are loud but the first Harley poster gets everyone's ire up? Glad the guys I ride with who still ride bikes other than Harleys aren't so quick to judge. Or maybe it's because most of their bikes are louder than most Harleys.
  20. Ummm before you guys start making assumptions and painting everyone with the same brush,I'll let you on a little secret.I never once said I like loud but I guess because I own a Harley you assume I do? We're all riders but the superiority complex of some is staggering. Not all Harley riders (just as all Rice burner riders) rev the snot out of their bikes to impress themselves or annoy others. FWIW my ride has Kerker True Duals with full baffles. I've owned all manner of motorcycles in my 50 yrs on this planet and the Harley is the closest I've come to being one with the bike. I guess I'll go back to being a lurker since it's obvious no one who rides a Harley will make you guys think otherwise.
  21. If this isn't music to your ears...well I'm sorry http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYt0Eu8b7yc&playnext=1&list=PL7ACACDB66DB75513&index=24
  22. Thanks.Back at ya. I won't miss your scoot and you'd probably recognize mine as well. Teal over black.
  23. Saw the aftermath of that wreck. The bike was down in the eastbound lane 1/2 way down a mile long straight stretch. Speed may have come into play as we passed a pair of broken shades a few turns before the wreck site but I'm calling BS on the story that he lost it in a curve. My guess is a cager pulled out in front of him. BTW.Hi from a noob.Been riding 35 yrs.
