  1. i would love to tag along from woodsfield area down. those are definately some nice roads and are in good shape right now other than 800 south out of woodsfield its pretty banged up. not being pushy but you might want to 145 out of lewisville down to lower salem then 821. ends in marietta. brand new black top and amazing! no matter what route i am in.
  2. View image in gallery im still working on getting the pics to appear so please be gentle
  3. got a short ride in today to blow out few cobwebs and check out how new crg shorty levers would work. took a few stops to tweek the adj on the clutch do to it not being hydralic but few twists and we were up and running. beautiful day cant wait for a full day to enjoy but not going to complain for the middle of febuary.

  5. in response to the statement that i will be dead before i get to my gun in my tank bag. i dont ever plan on needing to shoot while i am actually riding, never taught that in the academy lol, so havein the gun in my bag which sits with me where ever i go off the bike always seemed to make sense. im possitive that i could draw and fire from the bag,as quickly as trying to get a tight fitting leather coat either up out of the way or reach into a very small interior pocket.plus i dont think i could fire a weapon with my alpinestar gloves on. like i said i have thought of carrying on person mainly then i wouldnt have to worry about removing tank bag at ever stop. as someone else mentioned i have wondered about shoulder carry i have a galco jackass holser for the kimber but that would rule out removing my jacket which in the summer is the first thing i want to do when i am sweatin my ass off.honestly my biggest reason to carry is for protection in some of the not that classy hotels and motels i crash at when out riding far from home . there are some scary places in eastern and souther wv lol yes lots of banjo music lol thanks for the replys i love the input.
  6. i am a new member and have to say i am very impressed to see the amount of pro carry members on here. i have carried a side arm for many years as a police officer in my younger days and as a private citizen now. i have brought up gun questions on some sites and get blasted by anti gunners who avoid the question and just give me their view on the 2nd amendment. its great to see some like minded ohioians. also since someone might ask lol. depending on what i am wearing and riding or driving i carry a tactical pro kimber in 45 and /or a taurus ultralight snub nose 38 special. one thing i have argued with my self and love some others opinion is how any one feels about carrying on the body when riding? some worry that it would be a damage to the body in an accident? usually i carry in my tank bag, which goes with me when i leave the bike.
  7. i have ran modulators in my last three bikes and i had more than one person tell me that they said it was annoying . in my reasoning that means they noticed it alot more than a regular solid tail light but who really knows i just figure it cant hurt. on the other had i was told that they were illegal to run in ohio by a police officer?
  8. thank you every one for the warm welcome have to admit i am rather surprised i have been on many sites and most are rather unfriendly to say the least. thanks again and just hollar at me when you need any road advice. i will keep you posted best i can.
  9. lower salem ? lol well they just repaved 145 and 821 from the exit in marietta at the pit stop to the monroe county line in staford so lower salem is where to be this summer i actually lived in staford when i was married years ago and got to know lower salem pretty well.
  10. hello everyone, my name is Brian. i am very lucky to be born and raised in woodsfield ohio,as some of you know its the starting point for some of the best roads in ohio. 556 536 800 26 255 145 all great roads to ride. i have rode since i was 8 yrs old and was 20 when i got my first road bike.i just bought a bmw s1000rr two months ago and am dieing for spring. my last three bikes were hayabusas. the bmw is a total change. i do most of my riding near the river and spend lots of time riding wv.i ride and drive most of the twisties near here daily so if any one as questions on to the road conditions dont hesitate to buzz me and i will help out. i hope i get to meet and ride with a few of you soon. thanks
