  1. I also would like to be a part of the Motorcycle escort. Was a part of it last year and look forward to helping out again. RA0029 is my volunteer number. Let me know and keep me posted. Moving my vacation around to be able to do this. I can help both days.

Is there going to be some pre-meeting or something in advance possibly to discuss some of this stuff and get some face time with everyone? I have a camel back and can likely handle the heat and can do whatever is needed so just keep me posted for what we need! Thanks

What is that I need to do exactly to make it official as an escort for the group?
  4. Am thinking of heading out that way myself. Is there a meeting time and place set up yet? Seems it is likely to be a cold one to say the least!
  5. Any other people planning to head out for this event? Seems like its gonna be a chilly one to say the least. Is there a place people want to try to meet to make it a ride? Let me know....
  6. Have been thinking of a summer cross country trip out to cali and back via Vegas in the summer of 2013 and this is good info.

Count me in as well. Was thinking of actually doing the bike part...but one with a motor sounds so much better but can still be a part of it all...win...win...lol
  8. I just signed up and hoping to make it out there on Thursday. Let me know if anyone is meeting up somewhere. Tentatively planning on camping but if weather looks bad may change that part. First decent ride of the year...cant wait!
  9. Alright..what are the banned Pirates and Squids? Just not sure of those terms...being retired navy, squids have a different meaning I am guessing...lol
  10. Sorry to hear that but glad he is still alive atleast. Nice that his wife thought enough to let us all know.
  11. OMG, sorry...terrible at checking my messages....just read your note. Nice trunk. Can fit 2 full size helmets with some room to spare. I took a trip down to Deals Gap and have special made bags for the trunk. If it fits in a bag, it fits in the trunk! So...had one full bag on one side and all my rain gear and misc junk spread out on the other side. Plenty of room. Had a little cooler style bag behind me on the second seat for water, sunblock and junk food for human fuel on the road. Was a great trip. Drove straight down 515 miles or so on thursday, rode around including the dragon a few times on friday (after whitewater rafting trip), then home on saturday. No problems and plenty of gear and space. Let me know and we can meet up sometime to show you the bike.

  12. Am thinking of heading up to do this ride. Its right up my ally and could use a break from Patriot Guard Duties and work for a bit. Let me know if anyone else from Lancaster area is heading up and if we are meeting once we do get up there. Is the party still on afterwards? Gonna be blazing hot for us it seems....but worth the effort for the kids. Let me know...will check post. Email me for a phone number to make faster contact... Checking around I believe this will be the address we go to for morning registration think reg starts at 0800 with the ride starting at 1000: 14111 Scottslawn Rd, Marysville, OH
  13. Let me know when your bike is up and ready. I dont mind cruising around that area. I am up in Lancaster and really not that far away.....have gone fishing down in clearcreek a few times and really enjoyed that. I like riding down in the hocking area, nice hills and beautiful sceneries (sp) anywhere in that area. I have some friends who have a cabin/house up in the area with some pretty cool features. Easy to get lost in the hills, but thanks to GPS we can always find our way home. Anyways...keep in touch once your up and running. While am not a fast bike, it is my ride and gets be easily where ever I want to go!
  14. Thanks for the fun time. Sorry for the delay in checking back in on this post. Met alot of new people (well all were new to me really) and was well accepted by all even with my Honda PC800. Got soaked to the bone, but enjoyed every minute of it. Alot of cool bikes and great peeps. I learned what a digi run was all about. Look forward to next years run. Hopefully can find a way to move up in the standings. If the owner of the team 2 pics can get a hold of me, I am interested in getting copies of those photos...especially of the horse and the Wal Mart Greeter! Ride safe....
  15. Hello peeps promoting a ride I missed it last year due to work but the year before it was a real blast. Lots of bikes and one of the best planned event have been on. Its an escorted ride so we only stop when it a designated one for breaks. Police/sheriff block intersections so roll right on thru. Lots of spectators when we go thru a town. Seems each year more and more bikes show up. Check out the website and past events to see if this is your thing. http://www.motorcyclemonster.com/events/ride-for-the-red-2011-08-13-Lancaster-OH.html I already signed up months ago when they chose this date...hopefully work wont get in the way this year! See ya out there!
  16. Has this been set in stone yet? Keep me posted.....
  17. Am on another forum for my bike type and we are meeting up down there the weekend of the 9th of July. Am planning to leave with a few peeps from the lancaster/columbus area heading down that way likely on thursday the 7th of July. All bikes are welcome but we are not a racing group really, mostly PC800's, GW and other cruisers. We are also not a group of thugs either so safe and respectful crowd. Lodging down that way is always an issue and even now am working out some details. I think for the most part everyone is on there own but there are alot of campgrounds around as well. We are planning to hit the dragon on that saturday. It will be a first for me but should be fun! Again...if anyone else wants to ride down that way let me know....
  18. I will keep checking this post also....hopefully weather is not an issue. So freakin un predictable these days.....
  19. I have been doing this for some time myself. Count me in and I will help out. Sooner we have some dates the better. Am down in lancaster ohio area and I know of a few caches already in the area. A few I have yet to find but have not looked this year.
  20. Did you sell your spot already? Where is this going to take place? I did one like this many years ago and it was a blast!!!! Highly recommend it to anyone who has the time.....I have to admit am a little interested.
  21. Yea...went on a ride to support troop housing this past weekend and we ended up roaming the back roads of the hocking hills where the "tar snakes" and such were everywhere. Its pretty common this time of year for cheap fixes to roads to use tar and light pebbles to patch up the roads...not very forgiving for us bikers. Keep your eyes out and give everyone a little more space....
