  1. What would you expect? It is a stock 4cyl. car. All I'm doing to it is fixing the interior and beefing up the motor and getting it repainted down the road. I'm getting new seats and carpet in a week or 2. Next motor.
  2. Well for just starting my 1st real job 5 months ago tomorrow, having my car for 2 months and how far it has gotten in the time that I have had it. Wait untill next summer or so and I'll be able to hold my own ground as well, but I need to figure out for sure where I'm going as far as rb or built ka and fast.
  3. I was looking on turbo240.com. They had some pretty good deals on everything I needed to build the ka. It wasn't crap brands either. Most likely I would do the head work myself. My grandapa has all the tools I need to port and polish the head and over size the valve seats to .7 intake and .5 exhaust. All I was looking to do to the block is take it .20 over and be done. Maybe 350hp or so would be a better goal for me, but build the motor for it to handle more than that so later on down the road I could get more out of it. So in your opinion, what should I do?
  4. So maybe I should just go back to doing a built turbo ka24? I have seen the blue prints to build one to marks around 400-450hp for around $5500 in just mods(not including the work to bore the block and port the head) to the motor. And I could have the swap done in 1 weekend(because everything the same as what I got now).
  5. Thanks. It is green, juniper green. The 240's only came out with it for 2 years I beleave 93 and 94. At times it even looks black. I did do a little looking into the 3" exhaust thing and I did find a thing in modified mag with a 95 ka24de with a greddy ti-c 3" cat back and a 2.5" test pipe, and that's what they found to be the best way to go. I know what I got isn't a greedy but for the $500 price tag I'll just use what I got. Not going to pay that much for a na engine know what I mean? The bad thing is I don't know anyone that has done a swap in a 240 other than 240sxforums.com. Because befor the rb20 idea came along I was just going to do a built ka-t.
  6. Yes, we have done got it in that I own a ricer!! It's ok now...........really...it is. Not a comment on how clean it is for the year Nissan?
  7. Pic's of the body. http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g255/thrilz4u89/sx%20pics/shawn004.jpg http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g255/thrilz4u89/sx%20pics/shawn003.jpg http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g255/thrilz4u89/sx%20pics/shawn002.jpg http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g255/thrilz4u89/sx%20pics/shawn001.jpg I picked up some wheels for it last night. I will post pic's as soon as I get them on the car.
  8. When it comes to spelling I will be the 1st to admit that I am a spelling dumb ass. The reason I was wanting to do the rb20 is because everyone does sr20's and a rb swap forum on 240sxforums.com said that the rb20 did not take custom mounts and stock driveshaft would work. I did also think about the whole parts problem. I figure by the time I get done doing all of this it's no longer going to be my daily driver. So l'll have time to wait for parts.
  9. I admit, a lot of the reason behind getting the gauges was for looks. But on the other hand I also thought that it would be nice to be able to see a vacuum leak rather than listen for it and maybe never even hear it. Sorta the same thing with the volts if the it was to jump around then I would have kinda a warning as to the altinator going south. With the exhaust, I orderd 2 and a half but they sent me 3. I'm not going to complane though because if it holds up then I'm going to use it for the RB20 swap.
  10. Beleave it or not, I do all the work on my car. No one beside me will ever touch it, if I can help it. But any way thanks Kevin. BTW what year mustang do you have?
  11. I don't have a cat but it's not really loud, it's got a nice deep tone to it. Trust me I would have ripped all of it right back out if it would have sounded like all the Hondas and Acuras that you see running around......like a ticked off bumble bee, if that's how you like to put it.
  12. Well, consitering I have only had the car about 2 mounths I haven't really been all that worried about the motor. It runs great and will get me back and forth to work untill I get the inside of the car to where at least I can stand it. And most people don't have $1,300 they can throw around right away. It takes some saving. As for the ricer thing. Oh well at least it don't sound like a Honda.
  13. Everyone has there own opinion. I like my car, it's don't sound like a ricer, but at least wait until I get the RB20DET in it and tell me if it's a ricer then. I'll post the pic's of the body when I get home from work tonight.
  14. Hi, my name is Shawn. I own a 93 Nissan 240SX coupe. It's all pretty much stock right now except for a cold air intake, 3" cat back with resonator to replace the cat. Gauges, and a few other little things that don't matter much. Here's a few pics of it. I have a few more of the body that I will post later. I'm planing on doing a RB20DET swap hopefully sometime this summer. After that I'm going to paint it(maybe put a body kit on it) some nice wheels and fix the inside up, because it looks to me like Freddy Krueger got my dash pretty good . Sorry these pic's ain't all that great. I took them with my sidekick. http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g255/thrilz4u89/shawn097.jpg http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g255/thrilz4u89/IMG00004.jpg Took a few pic's while I was changing the valve cover gasket, thermostat, oil, and spark plugs. http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g255/thrilz4u89/IMG00024.jpg Rep'n the Royal Purple(a.k.a expensive crap) http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g255/thrilz4u89/IMG00025.jpg http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g255/thrilz4u89/IMG00021.jpg http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g255/thrilz4u89/IMG00022.jpg http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g255/thrilz4u89/shawn121.jpg
