  2. http://www.salon.com/news/politics/war_room/2010/12/27/scott_brown_tea_party/index.html So the right wing rag Salon Magazine has identified the next Tea Party target in their "War Room" section. If Scott Brown goes down next, are they to blame? I could go on and on and on..... The political language, ( in my view the only protected speech) is full of references to killing, shooting murdering and targeting the opposition. And it has been that way since this country was founded and before.
  3. "Unnoted by Giffords then, or Krugman now, is the routine use of similar language and imagery by both parties in a culture obsessed with "battleground" states. Indeed, a nearly identical map, included in a Democratic Leadership Committee publication in 2004, featured nine bullseyes over regions where Republican candidates were considered vulnerable that year, and was accompanied by a caption reading: TARGETING STRATEGY. A smaller caption, beneath the bullseyes, read: BEHIND ENEMY LINES. The map illustrated an article on campaign strategy by Will Marshall of the Progressive Policy Institute." These are just words regardless of who uses them. Only a nut job would assume that means it is OK to kill someone. That is why I posted the most offensive thing I could think of. Glad to see that while some took offense, no one suggested my speech be shut down. Congratulations.
  4. now that she only has half a brain she will probably switch from being pro gun rights to being a gun control advocate - like Jim Brady

  6. Careful! He might be listening. I would never buy anything over the internet... too scary and I wouldn't want to shirk my civic duty.
  7. For example, I find with slicks that almost any oil will work. With knobbies you want something with a little higher viscosity to smooth out the chunks. Welcome to the forum.
  8. Depends on what kind of tires you are running on.
  9. Some of my best friends ride Harleys:)
  10. Next up is the valve adjustment and fluid changes. Need a day warm enough to at least warm it up for the fluid changes, but the the valve adjust needs a cold engine - that won't be a problem today.
  11. Installed new clutch and brake levers with reach and length adjustment in addition to being flip up in the event of a tip over. Very impressed with the way Guzzi designed the old ones. Bronze bushings in the pivot, set screw with lock tight to lock down the stroke adjust which was also sealed to prevent backing out. Top end components on this bike with careful assembly.
  12. The least she could do is send him one of those "If you can read this....." T shirts in exchange.
  13. On the negative side, the government is broke. The state run stores make money for the state. But the state needs to trade the steady flow of income for a big lump of quick cash. Selling off the future for the immediate, but right now, there isn't much choice. On the positive side, the state run stores don't generage nearly the positive cash flow they could because the burocracy is bloated with all the extra patronage jobs created to payoff the campaign supporters. Making it private will at least slow that down although I imagine the winning bidder will owe some big debts to his government benefactors.

Being a cheap bastard, I find them expensive. Like their motto says "When you want it now" (Whatever it costs.)

Last trip home, I got behind a mini-van that had a big script decal sticker in the window that said "Stuck in Ohio" I envy you man.
  17. Yes! Has a nice ring to it doesn''t it? Rrrrroooosssoooo moootooo gutzeee STELve-o
  18. Yep, they have a reputation for running forever and the more you beat on them the more they like it. I credit the dry clutch in part for keeping grit out of the engine oil. 1st one I had didn't even break in until 12,000 miles and I put 50,000 on it with nothing but routine maintenance. Still runs like a top.
  19. One of the testers on the magazines noted when he was testing a new electric that people and cars were noticing him even less. Maybe we should require all the bikes come equipped with 200 Watt stereos with sub-woofers.
  20. Yes, he came from a country founded by criminals... and he continues the tradition.
  21. Little Switzerland tops the scenic rides for me. Rt 147 from the Ohio River to Seneca Lake will give you a good sample of the different terrains Ohio has to offer.
  22. Can't say I stayed there but got a tour from the folks that run it including the crow's nest suite. Looked great and the roads were a relaxing journey. It was written up in one of the motorcycle mags. The "Ridin' Safe" training program wraps up its road class tour with a stay there.
  23. She likes guns and hates traitors, what's not to like?
  24. Welcome to Ohio Riders. Congrats on surviving the deer attack.
