1. Since the track day starts at 3:30 on this one I'd be there at least an hour early for tech. I'm not sure if it's on track at 3:30 (sounds like it is) so they will have their riders meeting first, probably at 2:30. Intermediate will goes out first, followed by advanced and then novice. No charge for spectators. I'll probably be there on Saturday in "I". It's a great time, but be prepared for a hot day!

9. Definitely a good day (or two) of riding. Glad everyone came out mostly unscathed and hopefully we'll see you guys and gals again soon! We need to try and get a few people together so we can split the cost of a garage or 2 next time...
10. Looks pretty nice! I just upgraded the brakes on my CBR954 with Galfer lines and rotors on the front and ceramic pads. They made a big difference in the feel and control. I'm 6'5" and 260 so the 954 has enough power to haul my butt around and enough size that I don't feel cramped. Glad you found a nice track bike, see you at the track!
11. Sorry... Yeah, listen to snake...! That thing is hardly worth $250 now. You'd be robbing him!
12. Glad to see your ok man...Sucks to have that happen after a track day and to get a ticket on top of it. (and failure to control is a 2 pointer as well as a pretty hefty fine) Did you have frame sliders on it? They are a really good investment, but don't go cheap. The cheap ones will break apart. This pic was from M-O, 2 years ago when put it in the gravel at turn 10. GRAVEL broke the $30 frame slider I had on, so I know the pavement would've ate it up. I bought some good ones after that just in case I go down again. Sliders are a lot cheaper than replacing the engine case. Don't listen to twowheelsnake, I got $3000 for my 03 CBR954, 2 years ago when I wrecked it. They wrote it off as as being totalled, I bought it back for $700 and used the rest to turn it into the track bike you see.
13. I wondered what that thing was that she was riding. I wasn't sure if it was really slow or if it was just her. The tires I'm sure didn't help and it's really a good thing that it wasn't fast in case because it had drums on the front and the back! It reminded me a bit of this guy, tho he was really fast in the corners.
14. Man that was a seriously great day today! I should've checked the forum because I know I saw a bunch of guys there. I was in garage 15, black/red CBR954 #13. Not too many crashes either, though that R1 did get wadded up pretty bad...
15. Glad your ok and that the customer service was great but that doesn't say much for the durability of the Alpinestar boots. I would expect better out of a $400+ boot (and Alpinestars!), though if you didn't get hurt I guess they did their job well enough. I would be REALLY concerned about the zipper failure though, especially in a low speed crash. Last thing you would want to happen is go down at 100 and lose a boot or have them wear through, IMO.
16. If you are just running in novice I wouldn't worry about getting a set of leathers right away, the only thing (with any of the two piece suits) is that they have to be 50% circumference zip togethers. They generally don't tech your gear. I'm not sure what M-O charges for rentals. If you plan on making it a habit, and it is addicting, Iron Pony had AGV leathers on sale for $300 for a full suit and they seems to be pretty good quality. They also have a lot of things on close out, so it's def worth a look. As for tires, the only thing you need to make sure of is that they are at least 75% new. Again, unless your tires are worn or more than a year old, I wouldn't worry about getting a new set for novice. You generally don't push too hard until the afternoon anyway. If you check out MidOhio.com they have all the details on bike prep and gear. See you at the track!
17. But seriously, if you're going to ride that you have to take it to full dork.
18. That's the kind of stuff that pisses people off enough to take action. All it would take is one of the cars to change lanes or open up their doors, also I'm pretty surprised the cops didn't take a few of them down with their cruisers. It doesn't make it any better for those of us who ride somewhat responsibly either...
19. During one of my more delusional moments, I thought I ran a 1:43 at M-O, but after further review, I think it was probably closer to 1:49. Hard to tell off of video footage only.
20. I honestly think I've dropped and/or crashed every bike I've had. Dropping is far preferable. Probably the most embarrassing was at Mid-Ohio when I dropped my 954 at a track day, my right heel got stuck on the footpeg just as I was coming in after a session. Far worse than when I got a ride back in the crash truck...
21. That's a great buy... too bad I've already got one. Almost thinking about doing just because!
