  1. I have a Kendon trailer if you want to try it out. It is the 3 bike model: http://www.kendonusa.com/trailer_sport_bike.html#prettyPhoto Not sure if this is what you are looking for, we carry my Aprilia Tuono and my wife's CBR250R with no issues. I'm in Johnstown so it would not be that far of a ride, although this weekend's weather is supposed to suck. Shad
  2. First bike was a 1975 Kawasaki G5 100cc on/off road that I trail road. I got it when I was 12 years old. http://www.cyclechaos.com/wiki/Kawasaki_G5 When I turned 16 I put turn signals on it and a mirror and then road it on the road for a number of years. Then I took 23 years off from riding. In 2008 I bought a 150cc scooter. 2009 Purchased a 09 Buell Blast 2010 Purchased a 09 Buell 1125CR And a week ago I bought the 2012 Aprilia Tuono V4R.
  3. I have never riden a motorcycle at Mid-Ohio but I have driven a formula car there for many years. Trust me when I say you will never get bored with M-O, the track is techincal and fun to drive. I cannot image that this would be any different on a motorcycle. The other thing that I really like about M-O is seems to be one of the safest tracks in the area. Just my .02. Shad
  4. I agree it was a great ride and the weather was beautiful. Shad
  5. I should be able to meet up with all of you at 7:15ish at the Shell. See everyone there. Shad
  6. Well they have been working on making bikes all month, if you go to the Eric Buell racing site you will see the below message: The Erik Buell Racing parts store will be shut down for the rest of the month of May for inventory reasons and to meet 1190RS production demands.

    squid?

As others have said. My normal gear consists of helmet, jacket with CE armor (textile during the summer), riding pants CE armored (I have a convertible pair that I wear all year round), boots and gloves. Yes it gets hot when you are sitting in traffic but better safe than sorry. Shad
  8. I will probably have them replace the instrument cluster when I have the valves adjusted in the next few weeks. My dealer has been good about ordering parts in advance so when I bring the bike up they can fix it quickly. I just want to clarify my battery situation. If the bike sits for three weeks or so the battery is under 12 volts. It will still start, but I like to have it a close to full charge just in case. And since I am constantly charging cars and an RV it is just one more thing that I have to put on a charger. Shad
  9. Just flipped over 12K miles on my 09 CR. I have had the following issues: Had the wiring harness recall done at 4.5K at 7.5K Stator died and was replaced under warranty and at the same time the seal was replaced to fix the clutch weep issue. I have seen the fuel light issue a couple of times, both times it was less than 25 degrees out. I have ridden many other cold days and not seen the issue. On the rare occasions where the bike sites for more than a couple of weeks I put it on a charger. It will drain the battery if you leave it sitting for a long time. Another thing to consider; the bike gets very hot is the summer, even with riding pants on the Aluminum frame can get hot enough to be very uncomfortable when you touch it. I do love riding the bike and have no intensions of selling it anytime soon. Plus you just don’t see many of these bikes on the road since they didn’t make a lot of them. Shad
  10. Millstone Southern Smoked BBQ 12970 Grey St, Logan, OH 43138 http://millstonebbq.com/ Very good BBQ and it is right of off SR33 and SR664. Good place to stop before your Hocking Hills ride or after it. Shad
  11. I found the AlpineStars to be about a 1/2 size small. I normally wear a 9 1/2 size tennis shoe and I had to buy a size 10 set of Alpinestar Ridge boots. I am not sure if they make them anymore but the price was pretty good ~130 at Iron Pony. I have had them for about 3 years and they have worn pretty well. They are no race boot but they offer good protection for street driving. Shad

    Hello all

Hi everyone. I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Shad. I found this forum a little while ago and thought that I would register since it seems to be a good source of information on riding in Ohio. In the last couple of years I have gotten back into riding. I ride most nice days to work and on the weekends my wife and I try to find interesting roads to ride on. My latest bike is a 2009 Buell 1125CR. And my wife rides a 2011 Harely Sportster 1200. I live in Johnstown, it is NE of Columbus. I have been having lots of fun riding and have put on a little over 25K miles in the last 2 1/2 years. Shad
