  1. You can totally hunt with an AR... I would suggest something by CMMG or Stag Arms with the Plus Package. Got to have that 1:7 twist! Doubles as an AWESOME home defense weapon!
  2. What's everyone got planned? I've finally got a weekend off work and my old lady is heading to her folks place with the kids so, I am going on an all out motorcycling tour of the lovely state of Ohio as long as the weather is somewhat cooperative. I've only been riding on my way to and from work so I have been itching to get out and explore. It's getting a little chilly in the mornings and evenings up here and I've had to break out my leather jacket more than once. I've found most of my gear to be somewhat lacking in the warmth department but, I guess that's to be expected coming from the Keys... For the most part though, it's been pretty awesome riding in all my gear and not sweating like a hooker in church. Riding with a little chill in the air can really get you going in the morning!
  3. I like Ninjas and chocolate!
  4. So, I've come to find that the roadways in Ohio may be the worst I've EVER ridden on. Every 5 seconds it seems I'm hitting some kind of fucking speed bump on the road... WTF!!!??? Every seam in the road seems to be some kind of un-godly speed-bump. What gives? There has to be some kind of explanation for this phenomenon. 270 is bad but so is 23, 53 and it seems almost any other road I've ridden in Ohio has this same problem of these crazy, out of the blue, speed-bumps... SERIOUSLY. WHAT THE FUCK?
  5. Well, I won't say that I slayed the dragon but, I fought it pretty good! I only had time to make 3 passes: 2 northbound, 1 south. I wish I could've spent the entire day though. I'll post up more details later... I'm worn out after traveling from Tampa to my in-laws in KY in 2 days. Heading up to Ohio tomorrow... not really looking forward to that as my ass gives new meaning to the term "saddle sore".
  6. LOL! Well, yeah I definitely got raped down here! $1200 (with Military discount). They did some other shit too but DAMN!!! If I was mechanically inclined and had the proper tools, know-how and time, I definitely would have done that stuff on my own... I think when I get out of the Coast Guard I'm going to MMI or some similar school...
  7. So I just had some work done to my 2008 Ninja 650. I was wondering how much it would cost up that way in the great white north. Oil Change - Full Synthetic Air Filter - Replaced (Provided by me) Spark plugs replaced New brake lines installed (provided by me) chain adjusted Rear Tire replaced And the most expensive part of the job: Valves checked and adjusted. They had to get some shims... Anyways I don't know if this enough info but, I was just wondering how much something like this would go for up there. The shop I took it to has been, up until this point, reliable. They've had the bike for over a week now though! They told me 2 days at the most!
  8. Oh, no doubt. I've gotten her up to 120 indicated but I didn't have my GPS with me so I don't know how fast I was really going. The faster I get on that thing the higher the speedometer error...
  9. I had a guy tell me that he had the same bike I did, same paint job and everything... I have a rattle can custom paint job and I guarantee it's a one-off! Same guy told me he was doing 160 on it with his girl on the back (I own a Ninja 650) down this super busy road that has lights almost every other block... Me: Wow! That sounds pretty dangerous! (Rolling my eyes and sarcasm dripping from my voice.)
  10. Thanks for the offer but, I don't think our dates match up! +rep sent though!
  11. Well, as you all may, or may not know, I am moving to Ohio this summer. I'm not looking forward to the ice and snow but, the trip itself is providing me with an opportunity to get some serious saddle time. Anyhow I'm traveling from Islamorada, FL to Tampa, and finally to Port Clinton, Ohio... It's about 1500 miles one way. I have no idea how much ground I'm going to be able to cover in a day. The parallel twin on my Ninja vibrates like a mo'fo' and after about 5-6 hours I need a good long break while my hands and feet wake back up. I am thinking of heading to the Tail of the Dragon too (it only adds like 60 miles to the trip). I don't know when I'm going to get another chance to ride it anytime soon. Anyhow, I'm planning on leaving Tampa on the 19th and I figure I can get, at the least, past Atlanta in one day. That will put the Dragon within striking distance on the 2nd day. The only bad thing is that I'm not going to have much time to play so I'll probably only get at the most 2 runs, and time to stop for a t-shirt! My travel plans on the bike are fluid though, as I'm not used to spending the entire day in the saddle and I don't know how sore I am going to be...
  12. I take my 8 and 12 yr old out on the old Ninja all the time. They got all their own gear and we don't get on the bike without it! I've only taken them on local rides though as the turnpike is like 45 mins away. I don't really like riding 2up though but, I put up with cause the kiddos love it!
  13. Oh! I didn't think anyone even listened to the radio anymore. Pop in an 8-track grandpa! LOL. I got this off of failbook. I lean more to the right anyhow. Most of my views are more towards the libertarian side i guess.
