  1. The face shield looks like it would have less distortion than the fulmer
  2. I happen to not like the rounded road helmets for only one reason, the bar is too close to my face. Years ago I had a fork snap in a BMX race over a set of jumps and I hit face first on the top of one of the jumps. The Shoei I was wearing cracked the mouth guard and the strap gave me a black and blue hangman's smilie around my neck but my face never hit the ground or the bar. I can force a round helmet back til it touches my face, I don't want one of those on my head if I were to ever crash hard again. I was however, forced to buy a Bell Revolver flip up because being a motor ref for bicycle races, I need to be heard, not muffled, plus it makes talking into a radio much easier.
  3. Nothing like blowing smoke up my tail pipe. I guess in my own ignorance, I never did see a result or the fact that is was a vintage event which I can't figure out where the Ducs fit the vintage bill I also noticed it never mentioned any other factory bikes being able to participate so I guess if the Hodaka factory entered, they's took 2nd
  4. Hi Meef, I remember you telling me that a while back when you were selling yours. Mine does too, but I hate having any visor down so I only use it when I have too. I used to use goggles with my Shoei but now that I am old and need glasses it's not quite so convenient so I usually wear a bifocal safety glass or my prescriptions. Sturg, If you get one, you may want too look at the helmets that have less of a sharp bend in the shield, which is the issue with the Fulmer's distortion.
  5. I have a Fulmer Dalton Highway. It is by far the most comfortable helmet I have ever had outside my Shoei MX helmets, the down side is the shield, it gives a slightly distorted view and the vents flow enough I tape them off in the winter. The upside is, I rarely have it down unless it is freezing or raining. I liked it enough I have 2 They tend to run a bit large, I usually wear a medium, these I had to get in small
  6. My guess is, only a couple of those bikes will see real dirt and if they do get dirty, it'd probably be from am alley or dirt parking lot.
  7. A little while ago a friend of mine stopped by with a new bike. If you are interested in one of these beauties, go to http://gormancycles.blogspot.com/
  8. *it happens I email stuff to my office and sometimes takes days to get there, should have mailed it and got it t he next day!
  9. Well that's just beautiful, it's 6/22 and I just got an email that this post was made as well as a few others. Almost 2 whole months
  10. Were do you work? I work out on the edge of the zip code almost into Canton near Perry/Southway
  11. I'm not into the cruiser scene but I rented on in Maui one year and enjoyed the ride. When I came home I saw that one sitting at the Local Shop and had to have it. The bike is stone stock and will more than likely stay that way unless I find a set of matching hard bags. It's great for taking long back roads rides to dinner or just to enjoy the scenery. And you have the bike I want! Well, wanted, until I rode it and realised my knees were in the way. I love the bike but it just felt physically too small, same with the SV650. You never know when one may come up that's too good a deal to pass up. I also like the RC51 but this little 8 year old girl wants a side car and if she gets her own way, I'd get a Ural or Royal Enfield.
  12. Thanks all Not sure how many people on here I actually know except Buildit and possibly CBRJess. For you Transalp admirers, I bought that bike during a knee reconstruction back in 89 when new and for some reason can't seem to part with her. The bike has never left me stranded, even when a CDI went bad. The bike has 1 carb, 2 plugs, 2 coils and 1 CDI for each of the 2 cylinders. I was able to ride home on one cylinder, twice.
  13. Been riding since 1979. I like to ride everything but prefer off-road the most. I've competed since '82 in Scrambles, MX, generic SX and occasional Short Track (sucked), enduros and trials. I pretty much like all styles of motorcycle but choppers & scooters the least. I also enjoy all sizes of bikes & motor types but prefer singles and twins. My current rides...
