  1. I have a Hero 2 bought for $150 with some goodies from another OR inmate and I've been having fun with it.  My favorite mount so far is a curved adhesive tab attached to my helmet's chin.  It's rock-solid and gives me the ability to start and stop recording with my hand, which is nice on longer trips where I don't want a whole memory card of boring stretches.  It also tracks with my eyesight and absorbs a lot of vibration, though it does pick up head bobbles and wind turbulence.

I've used a suction mount on the windscreen and tank side for other perspectives and it looks great, just picks up engine vibration, creating "jello" effects at specific RPMs.

glad you like it man, I missed it so much I had to go out and get another, I upgraded to the hero 3 though.

  2. I did a little scout ride today of the route all the way up to 669 (I took 78 instead of grabbing 555/669). Not sure if anyone has figured out the logistics of the gas stop but here are my thoughts based on what I've found:

    • Shell station on E. Canal is closed
    • BP station on E. Canal is closed
    • There is a Turkey Hill and a Speedway on E. Canal both with 12 pumps
    • The route will take us up Burr Oak Blvd to Buchtel where there is a 12 pump Marathon station out of the way.

If you're leading a group and see both stations on Canal are full of bikes, keep following the route up Burr Oak Blvd. to the Marathon station.

I live in Nelsonville the speedway has a decent sized parking lot and riders could always park in the lot at the BP that's closed...

Also I don't know what turkey hill station your talking about? there is a go mart farther down canal st though.

  3. how has it been?

I am looking at several 2002-2004 Jetta's.  none of them are diesel, because those people want crazy money for cars with well over 200k...

I'm looking at a 2003 with the 2.0, and a 2004 with slightly higher mileage (106k) and a 5-speed.  that one has the 1.8 turbo.  Both are between $4k and $5k, and have leather interiors, so fully optioned up.

its nice but high miles 205,xxx only negative I have noticed is really shitty wiring

save yourself the trouble and get a nice honda
