I never trust anyone that injects their title/position/rank to a conversation that does not require it.
Well, the reason why, partner, is...why the hell would I give a shit about military discounts if I'm not in the military? I only introduced myself that way in order to show that I'm in the military and on topic for the thread.
The Internet is interesting...I know...and being skeptical is safe in this environment.

Snapper33, is there a chance your family lives in Polk?
Uncle Puck, I've only lived in Ohio 18 months of my 24 month tour so I do not know where Polk is. To answer directly though, I live in Columbus.

Check that for a proper "Oorah", its okay soldier I won't hold your shortcomings against you.
I said Oorah for 12 years and for the past 13 I've been saying Hooah.

I'm sufficiently cross-pollinated and immune to asshole-e-ness.
Hooah!

Not all commissioned billets are the same but I would expect the rank deals more with allocating resources and the logistics of making his decisions stick through the politics of command. I'm assuming he has some supervisory duties this experience should have left him with sufficient communication tools to keep him from being caught with his pants down.
My tactical mistake was due to living a life in the military, not learning all aspects of dealing with civilian public.
Coming here helps me learn. I show my military asshole-ness and you all respond with your civilian asshole-ness and we cross-polinate.
Your tactical mistake is assuming that I'm a REMF and not considering that I'm an infantryman who knows not the politicalness of civilian life.
As stated, I make mistakes as I learn your world, but I will stand and hold the line as I do it.

... but your self evaluation of prevailing is premature and inaccurate.
Not for an optimist...

Uncle Puck,
It was a strategic, not a tactical mistake. I learned, I didn't run, and I prevail.
-
Scruit, I learned and I agree.

OK, I get an A in the sense that I voted otherwise, but as a Soldier I have to support all lawful orders by the CIC; you know this. And if you work at Delta Epsilon Guns let me know and I'll show up in uniform with ID in hand and get your A+, I'm above-board and not infallable. I learned, I didn't run away.

Yeah, the internet is funny that way. Real meanings and intentions are resonated by how YOU feel, not by the reality of the sender's intentions.

Thanks, I did admit in my edit that I learned. It was an ass-whoopin, but I've taken beatings. Public sentiment came out, I learned, I'm now attempting to put out the information correctly.
My "crying-like-a-4-year-old" was for the troops.

It should. The overwhelming response on my other post was that I should not point out who does not; but who does. This meets everyone's request.

Thanks upfront for any advice.
I'm restoring a Moto Morini K2 and I need new brake hydraulic lines. Is there a place in Columbus that will build new ones using my old ones as patterns?

Serious pathology happening. The kid was going to trade school because his Dad was MAKING him go. I read into this as the kid was a known looser and Dad was trying get him off his dime. The kid probably has a history of stupidity. Dad probably does too as he let the kid leave w/ the gun with stated intent to shoot someone.
A warm winter's day, road hazards, and the AMA.

Great story and the opportunity to ride in Jan is awesome. You sound like a very conscientious rider; good skills to keep.
