  1. just saying... not like getting hit by a car. Tosses you like a rag doll. No damage to the bus, but damaged the side rear of my vehicle. Wasn't that fast or bad of an accident, but whipped me like it was. Interesting experience. I was probably going around 10 mph ish and they may have been going around the same or a touch faster. They thought their lane went straight, but it was left only. My lane was straight or left, so when I was turning they hit me. Kids and bus driver were fine as far as I know. It's like getting in a fight with someone who weighs about 250 and you weigh about 50. It wasn't the real short short bus, but maybe like the medium sized one.
  2. Went there again yesterday. Went in from the South West side this time. Still a lot of thorns. Your clothes are going to be ripped by the time you get out. A lot of little streams throughout. Small enough to jump over, but be careful because in some places the ground sinks and you may get wet ;). Be prepared to walk up and down a lot if you don't have a GPS Topo map. I put some pieces of wood under my vehicle this time to make sure I didn't get stuck in the mud at the side of the road. No luck yesterday as well. I saw a muskrat and a few birds. Only sounds I heard where other hunters walking in. It seemed as though there were hunters everywhere. Everyone is rattling their antlers. it is a small space and I didn't see a lot of deer activity in terms of footprints in the mud or rubs, etc. in the location I went in. I didn't really do any scouting other than using maps. I would not hesitate to say that is part of my problem. I didn't hear a lot of gun shots on the last day of gun hunting compared to the second day :). I do like the area, a lot of random things to see if you ever wanted to go for a nice hike. Just be prepared for thorns!
  3. Coshocton, smaller area. Little over an hour east of Columbus. Simco Wildlife Area
  4. Well, I'll give my own update since I went yesterday. I was in the south east region of the area. It does have straight cliffs that you will have to go around depending on where you want to hunt. I didn't hear a see or hear a peer from a deer. People were shooting around the area, but I saw nothing. There are a lot of thorns walking in from this direction, so make sure you are protected all over! You basically are walking through thorns from head to toe from the street. I parked on 141, be careful where you park unless you have a 4/4. I recommend putting some pieces of wood under your tires before you park, so it is easier to get out. I got stuck and had to have someone help push me out. I was out there for 10 hours and didn't get any ticks on me, but a couple other guys stated they had ticks all over them. It is a nice area, some hunters walked through the area I was sitting, I don't care, but just made myself visible to them, so we weren't shooting at each other :). As I was walking out a couple of the guys said the area isn't as good as it used to be and stated a lot of does had been killed off in previous years. I'd probably go back because the area is nice, but no luck on this trip.
  5. Not looking for all your secrets, but more curious to know how deer handle a location like this versus other areas. I have never been to the location, just trying to read through topo and imagery maps. Seems like there are a lot of drop offs and cliffs from the images. Anyone ever been in the terrain there? Want to know what I am getting into... I'm still trying to figure out where I can park
  6. Another good read on a lot of these regulators: http://www.triumphrat.net/speed-triple-forum/104504-charging-system-diagnostics-rectifier-regulator-upgrade.html A quote from it:
  7. This is a good forum I read about the issue: http://badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290431/684243.html?1340136031 I do have the updated rotor that throws oil on the stator. That doesn't stop the bike from losing voltage in stop and go traffic. I don't know how these regulators will help this bike below the 2k range or below the 4k range like this article expressed.
  8. 1125 has tons of charging issues. Regulator sucks, parasitic leak on the battery, stator burnouts, voltage issues, etc. Unless I'm riding crazy all the time, stop and go traffic will destroy the battery and stator in no time. The stock regulator on the bike is tiny compared to the SH847. I don't know a lot about regulators, but I believe the FH020AA is a shunt style and the SH847 is serial. Shunt won't work on my bike... then again I'm just regurgitating what I've found online. If it was plug and play, I'd be all over it. If it was my cheapo Blast that I try to mod everything I wouldn't mind cutting wires and playing around. This bike I try to touch as little as possible. With all the charging issues on the bike I would just feel more comfortable with someone with more experience and knowledge wiring, etc.
  9. Thanks for the info. I'll send him a line. You are up North a couple hours, right (from Columbus)?
  10. I've never felt very comfortable messing with electric. Didn't know if anyone would be interesting in helping me install or simply installing a SH847 regulator on my Buell 1125CR (http://www.roadstercycle.com/#SH847_SERIES_RR_KITS_ARE_NOW_AVAILABLE_). Looks like the regulator may have to be installed under the tail unless you recommend something different. Anyone open to helping or want the job? Let me know what you would charge. I'm in central Ohio not far from Iron Pony.
  11. Was just thinking of going out, but wasn't sure if anyone was riding tonight... In Columbus. Don't live far from Iron Pony.
  12. Bike is running. I put some oil back in the bike, did a few manual turns (clockwise), attempted to start with battery and it would turn just a touch. Was turning better, but would eventually get back to squelch. Got an 80 amp charger/starter and cranked it a few times with some fresh gas and starter fluid. Bike turned on and was running strong. I let it run for about a couple minutes. I didn't hear any odd sounds, there was some white smoke, but I imagine that may be from the starter fluid because it eventually went away. I felt around the stator cover to see if there was any abnormal heat, everything seemed fine. I took the stater off and attempted to start the bike again with the battery and it started right up. I really have no clue what may have happened. Just a guess would be I didn't oil anything on assembly and cranked the heck out of the rotor nut. Next steps are putting airbox back on, etc. Gonna need some new tires on it though, they are old and have been sitting for a whole year and a half. I'll have to watch closely and make sure nothing else goes wrong. I live south of Westerville in Cental Ohio. Probably 2 miles from Iron Pony.
  13. Raising thread back from the dead. I'm back at this bike again. I pretty much left it sitting this whole time. New season, can't stop thinking about it now. Here is another video of me turning the crank manually left and right. Also, what happens when I attempt to start. Just a note, there is no oil in the engine at this time. Also, I still cannot get the cover off, but if I can't figure out what is going on I am going to have no choice but to crate some sort of puller to yank the cover off.
  14. Well after learning more about it I wasn't too impressed. You don't have to take any classes, just past a simple test, pay some money, and you are good to go. I thought you just had to pay 20 bucks and you are good to go. They still want finger prints and a picture of your balls to make them happy.
  15. Was reading more about it. Looks like you complete there test for $20, and that is the proof you have to get a non resident license, which then you have to pay $100 bucks for.
  16. Yeah, I guess having one fist in my ass is not as bad as two.
  17. My rights were taken away when someone told me I had to get a license to carry a gun.
  18. Okay. I think I was misunderstanding how this works. I was thinking I get a VA information stating I passed a test, then take to complete the license part. What was throwing me off was the sites kept referring to registering with your local county. Since I don't live in VA, I was thinking I would have to do that here. I guess all I really need to do to be "legal" is to pass the VA exam and get a VA license for $20.
  19. The vaguntraining one is only $20 bucks. From what I read, they give you a certificate, may have to take to your local sheriff in Ohio to get recognized. Is that what you did with PA Tonik?
  20. I get that part. The test is super easy. I didn't even watch their video. Just didn't know if anybody had experience doing this and had any issue. Looks like if I'm in VA, I do this, then take to local VA county office and it gets approved. Didn't know if same thing would approve in Ohio.
  21. Just curious if anyone has ever done any of the online Virginia CCW courses and have it recognized in Ohio? There are multiple VA websites that have you take an online test for your CCW, pay a fee, and supposedly get your CCW. Any experience with this? Couple examples: https://virginiaconcealed.com, https://secure.vaguntraining.com/
  22. I don't know if you are referring to the motorcycle attachment or the tire changer itself, but... I would say worth it if you don't care about your rims and manual labor. You need to bolt it to something. I used a pallet and that still destroys the pallet. Ideally it is bolted to a concrete floor. You are going to scratch the crap out of your rims. You'll need some sort of lubricant to help get the tire off. Depending on the size of tire and how much you care about your rims, you may only get a few uses out of it. That is my experience. I have an extra one still in box that I have been wanting to sell.
  23. Here are the updated installation instructions: Installation 1125 Rotor / Nut ( update tightening procedure ) Note Crank Locking tool is already in position 1. Match the double tooth spline on the crankshaft with the gap in splines. in the rotor hub and slide the flywheel hub onto the crankshaft 2. Press the flywheel onto the starter gear. 3. Rotate the starter gear and the freewheeling gear until the teeth mesh 4. Clean the threads of the crankshaft and crankshaft nut ( ALWAYS USE A NEW NUT ) with brake cleaner Note Where LOCTITE 272 ( red ) is unavailable , Use LOCTITE 278 ( red ) 5. Install the flywheel nut a. Apply LOCTITE 272 ( red ) to the threads and the mating face off the crankshaft nut. b. Tighten to 285 NM ( 210 ft-lbs ) c. Back off the nut counter clockwise approximately 720 degrees d. Tighten to 285 NM ( 210 ft- lbs ) e. Back off the nut counter clockwise approximately 720 degrees f. Final tighten to 400 NM ( 295 ft-lbs ) 6. Remove the crank shaft locking tool 7. Install the plug and tighten to 15 Nm ( 11 ft-lbs )
  24. I took some silicone spray (because that is all I had that I could spray) and sprayed it into the cp sensor hole. Turning was easier but cover still will not come off.
