Hey guys, I figured I would post this up. I have it for sale on the subaru forum but of course I'd prefer to sell to someone local. I'm just pasting the original post below: I'm selling my 2002 world rally blue WRX. I am located just outside Columbus, OH. I am the first and only owner. The car has approximately 35k miles on the chassis, about 3k on the engine. I'm asking for $10,900 as is. I have just reduced the asking price for this car. My circumstances have changed that I need to sell the car, so my loss is your gain. I originally purchased this car as a daily driver at the end of high school. I went off to college and it sat in a garage for about a year before I brought it out to Boston to make it my project car while I tried to help out the guys at DSG while getting my engineering degree. We worked on it for about 3 years where the guys at DSG built the incredible drivetrain, which is the jewel of this car. After I graduated I took the car back to my hometown and stored it because as a fresh grad I didn't have the money or the garage to work on it. It stayed in storage for about 4 years when I recently took it out and had the guys at AMS do a fresh tune, look everything over and button up any small issues. At their shop the car put down 560whp on a conservative C16 tune. I'm selling the car because I recently relocated and I need the money for the downpayment on a house. I'm extremely attached to this car and I have taken great care of it. Totally babied it. It has never seen the track although it was built for it. This car is a project car and I don't recommend it for a daily driver. It has no AC, no real interior as I was prepping it for a cage, no radio (no speakers but the stock radio is in place). I replaced the driver fender because it was damaged and I haven't repainted it yet. I also have plans for a new hood (the current hood was a band-aid solution to evacuate intercooler air). The driver side front fender was damaged and replaced but hasn't been painted yet. There is also a ding on the passenger side front fender. There is also a small scratch on the trunk. I am in the process of fabricating a new hood, so if the car is still here when that gets done I will add it, the current hood needs some stiffening in the front.

I'm hoping the weatherman is wrong. I'm going to plan on riding sunday AM before it rains starting on 79 in Newark since that's the area I'm most familiar with. Pokey, my saturday is booked otherwise I would check that out. I love pulled pork!

Is anyone going to be in town and down for a ride over the long weekend? I'm thinking Sunday. I finally got the bike back together and have taken it back and forth to work a few times this week and she feels pretty good. I'm looking forward to getting back to the twisties this weekend. Anyone else available?

Even though this is taking forever, I figured I would post some progress pics. I pretty much have everything purchased with the exception of a tail light and a method to mount the license plate. I'm working on the tail section and seat right now. I really wanted to cover the tank in carbon fiber but I didn't have sheets wide enough and I didn't think it would look good with seams so I decided to do the tail section instead. Because my sheets are still pretty small (about 15" in width) I'm doing the tail in sections. This was the first part that I did. I ended up using a dry fabric and doing a wet layup with some awesome epoxy called MAX CLR. It's super clear, wets the fibers great, has a good working time, flows really well (almost too well). I have since cut off the excess on the front portion of the tail, and its in the oven curing the right side. I'll post up some pics once I get the whole thing covered and then comment on how the second and third coats work out with some sanding. For my first time doing a wet carbon layup I think its turning out pretty well. In the meantime I need to get the headlight assembly and front fairings on but at least all the parts are here.

So I read the thread that was posted about the carbon vinyl that people are putting on their tanks and I was inspired. I NEED to cover my tank in carbon. Fortunately, I am a ballistics engineer at a composites company, and I can get my hands on just about any sort of carbon fiber prepreg that I could want. So in prep for this tank project I went and got a scrap gas tank from a junk yard in decent condition and sand blasted it. For this practice round, I've got some plain weave prepreg that I am going to lay up over it to see if I can get it to lay without creases. The stuff I will actually use will be a unique tri-directional q-iso carbon that will give it a look that most people haven't seen in woven carbon. I'm going to try to mix some red into the final clear coat to give it a nice reddish hint to it when its seen in the light. Here's the PW: It's nice and warm in our work area which is bad because it makes the carbon sticky, but good because I can stretch the fibers in the adhesive. Getting ready to lay it up now. Looks like I'll need 2 plies in order to get the total coverage I want. I'll bake it on monday. Anyone with experience doing this I'm all ears for advice.

Can you 4 wheel there too? Are there places where you can rent dirt bikes for off road courses?

It sounds crazy, but I would do some circulation exercises like yoga and stretching focusing on hip flexor and hamstring areas where main arteries pass that go to that area of your leg.

I'm in if I can get my bike together in time. When do you need to know by? Hoblick, I'd be interested in getting in on that trailer too.

The route, and mainly, good, solid roads without potholes, gravel, and many intersecting roads. And of course, no crashes! I am pretty patient and I don't mind waiting for slower paced people to catch up when changing roads.

Hi everyone, I'm in the Columbus area looking for a shop that will paint some race body work to match the factory stuff. I want to make sure I avoid those places that put on a thin layer without the bonding agent and it ends up flaking from rock chips, etc. Any suggestions?

When I lived in Charleston I had my 2009 CBR1000RR stolen. It was parked right in front of my apartment, around 1pm in the afternoon. Supposedly, a couple of guys stole a van, pulled up next to it and just threw it in. A few months later the sheriff's department for a town about 50 miles away said they found a frame with a matching VIN at the bottom of a lake. Hopefully, the guys that took yours aren't pro's and are making the mistake of riding it around or just changing the paint. I hope you have better luck than I did.
