  1. S14 swap. I actually have a 1JZ swap now but 2JZ has been my username for years.
  2. Not to be rude, but does it matter? I'd like a cushy cruiser for a trip if I can find one. I do plenty of straight 2-3 hour trips (minus 1 gas stop in the middle). I don't particularly enjoy them unless I stop a lot which makes the trip twice as long. Id rather ride for several hours and only stop for gas then stop every 45 minutes to stretch, you know? Plus... I wouldn't believe a soul that said they comfortably enjoyed a 16 hour straight ride on the back of a sportbike haha
  3. Places to rent a bike? Seat cushioning is a small fraction of my discomfort. Cramped riding style of a crotch rocket vs cruiser that causes leg cramps and laying on my wrists for too long are. No matter how nice a cushion I get, 6+ hours on a sport bike two-up isn't happening. PS, she's got nice junk in the trunk for cushioning But she's still ready to be done riding on the back of the Buell after an hour tops. She loves my bike, but it's not a bike for going on long trips.
  4. Never planned to haha. Thank you though.
  5. I've been wanting to take my girlfriend on a long cruise somewhere recently so I've been looking at a place that might rent bikes. I ride a Buell Firebolt so that's not exactly fitted for the situation. I can do about 2.5 hours by myself but I'm in pain by the end (I occasionally ride from Columbus to Toledo, but I'm very sore and antsy by the end). I certainly do not want to do that with a passenger, never mind the lack of storage issue. So anyway, I'm looking for something with two comfortable seats suited for longer hauls, a highshield, luggage, ext ext. Cruise control would even be nice but thats not as important. The comfort, space, and storage is though. I know Harley rents at some of their locations but apparently none are near Columbus (Mansfield is the closest). I don't need a Harley though. I could truly care less what the bike is. Yamaha, Suzuki, BMW, don't care. So long as it meets my criteria. Anyone know of a place?
  6. How did you like your 1125? A friend of mine had one and said he loved riding it but he also went through two engines in the year that he owned it. After that he said he'd only recommend XB's because they are just as fun on the street and less prone to problems (which I'll agree with based solely on mine). It was a sweet looking/sounding ride though whenever it did run. I wanted to pick one up myself but I was deterred by his report.
  7. Roger that. I'll keep an eye out for you if I ever go to QSL
  8. I don't live far at all from Mid Ohio. I was really just planning to do one day my first time. Get there in the morning, ride some, then pack up and head home. If I like it enough then maybe I'll venture out and do weekend events further away from central Ohio. I'm pretty excited about this now actually. It really sounds like the scene is quite accommodating and there are a lot of good people involved.
  9. I know, I was only kidding so I don't have to use everyone elses "trailer" lol. I have a truck. I lugged my bike around in the bed several times when going on vacations or simply when I first picked my bike up out of state. I don't assume the cost would be all that bad really. Like I said, I do car racing so I have a general idea of costs. Thanks everyone for chimming in btw. I feel a lot more comfortable about giving the track a try now.
  10. Noted. Invest in personal trailer if I wish to do track days. That's the biggest thing I've taken away from here
  11. I've read what is required of the bike and the necessary gear but how does the actual track riding work? I've never raced a bike. Do you have to line up in a grid and race from the start or are there open track days where you can just go out on your own and go at your own pace? I love riding down in the hills and feel that doing a track day is necessary at some point to have a some fun and improve my riding skills som. I won't lie though, the idea of lining up with a bunch of veterans and going at it makes me a little nervous. Cars are one thing. I've been on a track in a car several times. And I dont care if I'm slow my first time. I just don't want to get in other people's way and jack up their lines. Sorry for the extremely noob-like question. Just trying to figure this all out.
  12. Where are you? I'd be interested in seeing some other Buells at a meet or ride or something, specifically ones with some aftermarket goodies performed. Curious to see what some xb's look and sound like with different mods.
  13. Welcome fellow Bueller. Post some pics!
  14. Ohh, okay. No, nothing like that. I'm all about motorcycle safety. Military drilled safe riding and the proper use of PPE into my head. Except boots. I cheat a lot and wear tennis shoes when it's warm out :/
  15. Are clubs frowned upon or something? An acquaintance invited me to ride to bike nights around town with the veterans riding group he's a member of. Is that what you're talking about? ~confused~ PS, I see a lot of US maps with states colored in. What are those? The states which that member has ridden to?
  16. Club? Like, biker club? No, I don't know many riders here unfortunately. Only two of my buddies ride and one doesn't live close by.
  17. lol, nothing bad. I was looking at google images for a certain bike and one of the pictures was on this site. I saw the website name and decided to join. More pics of my bike to come soon! One of the mounts for the headlight bracket was broken so I decided to fix it and install new front turn signals while I was at it. I will get pictures when it is complete (probably today). BTW, thanks for the warm welcome everyone
  18. Roger that. I will check the fuse today and report back. Thank you everyone. Im not very wiring savvy.
  19. I haven't blown a fuse in the past. I don't believe the new LED has a fuse installed into it. The connection was not insulated while I tested it just in case I wired it wrong.
  20. You mean the kill switch on the controls? No, everything else was still working.
  21. What would explain none of the lights I tried working though? Fuse? Could the LED have blown a fuse? I don't have any fuses under the seat or in the headlight and I don't have front end fairings btw. It's a 98 thunderbird sport. The only fuses that I do know of are under the right side mini fairing compartment.
  22. Today I went to wire in the new LED taillight. Mind you, this isn't the first LED taillight I've had on the bike. I was replacing an aftermarket taillight with another one that is the exact same but with LED's instead of a single bulb. Dimensions and wiring are the same however. I wired it up without wrapping it to check that I wired it correctly and it lit up. Then I went to check the brake light and suddenly all the lights were off, as if the wires came undone. I rechecked them and no luck. I tried the non led light and no luck. I even tried the big OEM triumph brake light. No luck. I tried every wiring order possible and they were not wired the wrong way. My guess is that somehow a fuse blew or e relay or something? Any idea? And If so, any idea where those are at? Also, are LED's SUPER effing sensitive of something? I might have accidentally touched one of the diodes while installing it. So now I have no running or brake light. Rushing to figure it out because no running/brake light is grounds for zero riding and I have a Triumph meet and cruise to hocking hills this Sunday to get ready for :/
  23. Hey everyone. Found this site while doing a picture search on google. Seemed like a good way to find out about what goes on in Ohio. Anyway, I currently have a '98 Triumph TBS in yellow and black. Mods so far are limited to a rear fender delete, forks raised an inch, and LSL clip on handlebars (and a few other minor cosmetic changes). I have had the bike about a year now. Before that I had an xl883 converted to 1200. I do enjoy the sporty ride of the triumph more. It would be hard to go back to something not intended for twisty roads. Anyway, just sayin' hi.
