    Dumped it!

You tell em how you feel, its your choice if you want to get seriously injured in a minor crash or not hell we can all die walking down the street, tripping, and smashing our head on the si de walk, or drown in our bowl of cereal. Doesnt mean were gunna wear floaties or helmets all the time although I do like to were my kevlar helmet and wave at every person I see sometimes when im driving my car
  2. Well im glad everyone confirmed the no passing rule, especially cuz ide probably do some crazy ass line and get tboned my first few passes.
  3. Yup, thatd be where I wrecked.
  4. You make some very good points here, I have no clue on track rules, hell the track never even crossed my mind till yall mentioned the instructional value of doing a track day. I dont look at my mirrors in a turn ever and I sure as hell dont look behind myself in a turn.
  5. RIDE PENDING DUE TO RAIN(hope it doesnt rain) feel free to come in your car Saturday we will be meeting up at 11am at QSL on colonel Glenn in fairborn. The plan is for those who want to eat and get to know your fellow riders or chill in the parking lot with old friends come at 11am. AT 1 pm we will be leaving for our planned route for those interested in going. The route will be about 100ish or so miles(ill post approximate miles soon) For those who are only interested in riding with us please be here by 12:30 so we can get our riding group established. For those interested in eating and going on the route please be here early(11am ish) so we can be out in the parking lot by 12:30 to establish our riding group. For those just interested in just meeting your fellow riders and will not be attending the ride come as you please, we will be at QSL from 11am till 1pm, although im sure those of us that will not be going on the route will probably be at QSL past 1pm. As soon as I get home I will hop on my laptop and post the route, but here is a quick rundown of it. We will be taking 657-35-350-71 there are quite a few twisties on the route . Im sure alot of people here are familer with this route. Im hoping to make the ride with everyone if I get my bike fixed in time(I have the parts ordered already from sportys trikes and bikes(who go through vista Kawasaki for OEM Kawasaki parts). If not I will be riding my cage to QSL. I will also post the location of QSL once I get home for those who do not know how to get there. Also PLEASE no drinking if you ride your bike(especially if you go on the group ride) drinking 1-2 beers and riding a bike is NOT the same as drinking 1-2 beers and driving a car. Ive had too many friends wreck after just 1 beer on their bike. I know I cant make you not drink, but im just asking please dont do it on your bike and im sure if ur going on the group ride and drink people wont want you endanger their lives and wont let you ride with them. Sorry for the lecture on drinking, I know everyone here knows this, but as we all know there is always that 1 person who doesnt give a damn.++ http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=201343075178991181581.0004be007ec08882b86f4&msa=0 Location of QSL + Route Feel free to call(after 3pm) or text(anytime) during the week or call/text me any time Saturday if you have any questions. My number is 937 732 1155 INS- 5 Possibles-6 Total- 11
  6. Ahh, I just dont want to rush a turn cuz there is a bunch of people wanting to pass me if im going slow.and they try to pass me on the same line im going into. But ya I guees if I can try to make the same turn a little faster with.every lap thatd be cool with me.I just wouldnt rush into a turn without training wheels juet cuz everyone else makes it look easy cuz they got the experience. Ive seen alot of high speed wrecks on the tracks due to someone going too slow and the other guy is passing him and they both go for the same exact line coming out the turn. Im not sure how often it happens, but I just know it happens from the YouTube vids ive.watched. I will never rush into anything im not confident doing, unless I have no choice(example: i hate hights, but have no choice but to fly or climb a ladder or get on a roof if I have to) but as far as something I can control if im not comfortable doing it period then I wont. Hell I got fired from 1 job for refusing to get on a ladder while it was sleeting outside, my hoss even knew i.fell off.that same ladder 5-6 times in the past cuz it has to sit on a steep hill. Hell everyone at that job has fallen off that ladder at one point or another and my boss was too scared to ever get on it and still fired me for refusing to get on it in the sleet. So ya, idc what people expect or want me to do, I wont do it if I have the choice or dont feel safe, but if im going slow ill atleast have the.common sense to stay on the outside while people pass me up (God knows I cant stand slow.drivers in the left lane)
  7. this is probably a stupid question, but.... is there an option to like rent a roll bar(not sure if.that is the.correct term I just call em training wheels lol) to prevent laydowns if you fuck up in the corners? Obviously its not gunna keep me on the road if I slip up, but atleast itd prevent me from rashing my bike up any more than it is and ide.rather look stupid with training wheels taking high speed turns than actually wreck the bike making a 50mph corner.
  8. http://www.abdecal.com/ohio-riders-decal/ or just www.Abdecal.com if you want to look at everything. Has 2 free decals that I know of for OR members. You just pay $0.50 shipping fee.
  9. I could swing a 1 day class on sats since ide only.have to call off 1 job, but would I be able tobtake that over the 2 day course since I havent tooken the msf b4?
  10. Your prob right, I think I called it 325? I knew it was 3 something lol. Im not good with road names, I couldnt even give you directions on my daily work commute when I take the back roads hell I cant even name the street I get on every single day on my way home from any place, I just know its a 1 way.street and my wifes mom and both her grandmas live on and thats real sad cuz ive lived here for 6 years. Im glad to hear that track day helped you out even with.that mich.experience on a bike. I hope when I decide to do it that I can get as.much.out.of it as you did.
  11. I dont have a huge interest in hitting the track, but with the classrooms and coaches and training skills its something ide.deff consider. But as far as just going there to play around like most people doesnt interest me, ide rather play on the roads anyday. I didnt buy my bike for the speed(obviously since its a 250) I actually decided to go with the.250 so I wouldnt have the ability to go stupid fast once I get comfortable. I know my car doesnt go fast, but ill push every bit of 120+ on the open roads like an idiot, but not to the extent where im gunna put myself or someone else in danger e.g. traffic, unfamiliar roads, kids in the car, bad weather and whatnot. I really dont have any intentions of taking my bike over 70mph, but.that could.change and if it does I know ill top out at 100ish.
  12. ya ive seen those vids right after I bought my bike. I also watched the captin crash vids. One of the guys from here has the vids and were gunna watch em again sometime soon.
  13. Ya I told him you warned me about.thay b4 we left and about a.mile b4 we reached.that twist. If I was nerves about it I would of said something to you. Although I just didnt realize you couldnt see around the cornor.so.kind of caught me by surprise when I came up on it lol. I was expecting.kind.of.a small straight or wider turn between.the.apexes. He did tell me it was sharp though and that didnt bother me. I guess a little over confidence could of effected my judgment on going through that twist. Oh well, shit happens, its no ones fault but my own. Ane honestly the only thing about our ride I wasnt 100% confident about was the wind, but I drove slower to make up for that and he did a good job of not losing me and looking back constantly to make sure I was still visible. Hell he even pulled off to the si de a few times till I caught up and when cars got between us. If he would of left me behind I still wouldnt of gone faster.than what I was comfortable with. Now if it wasnt so windy outside I prob would of done a better job.of.keeping up with him in the straights, but he never once made me feel the need to rush or ride above my comfort level Although if I didnt tell him about my riding skill b4 hand I prob would of felt bad about him riding slower than he.is used to, but he.seemed..cool with it and he ended up being cool with it. Although I did feel bad about him getting stuck on that hill making a u turn trying to get to me, I thought for sure his.bike was gunna tip over and all I could do was stand at the bottom of the hill and try to stop traffic(which luckily there wasnt a single car comming) Now idk what I would of done if I wrecked and he didnt come back for me, I had no cell reception and no knowledge of how to get my bike started after it cut off and no clue where I was even at, but luckily he knew enough to get the bike started again and helped me get the bars straightened out so that it was ridable again. And im glad I was on a light 250 that I could pick up by myself otherwise I would have caused others to wreck if the hike stayed in the road. Ive tried picking up a heavy bike b4 by myself and that didnt go very well.
  14. im gunna do.some parking lot practice with one of.the guys from.this.forum once I get.a.chance to. And yup.I need to study some.more, but I can only really practice those.situations.once I get.in.a.situation like.that again. And sometimes its hard to do the.right.thing even if you know.what.ur supposed to do on a split second decision event. Im pretty good about defensive.driving.and avoiding accidents in the.cage, now only if.i.can get to that point on my bike ill be good. Although I do learn better from DOING opposed to watching/reading/listining about what to do.
  15. Them mudflaps are pretty horrific looking lol. idk why they even make em like that since everyone takes em off anyhow I suppose they could make a fender kit if someone did want em on their bike
  16. I was thinking the same thing
  17. I know I need to practice more, I dont speed on my bike or take turns over the speed limits for that reason. Im fairly comfortable riding around town and whatnot and not worried bout what traffic thinks of how I ride (50mph in a 55 due to feeling a lil shaky in winds on the straights) Its not reaply that I didnt know what to do, its more that I dont understand the reason to do what you do(as kmt mentioned) and then basic instinct kicked in over what I learned to do in these situations.
  18. Ill try to get some pics, I didnt take any yesterday but ill have my dad take some for me today.
  19. Ya I am fairly new, I only put 400 miles on my bike (360 b4 I wrecked it) and only about 200 or so around town on other peoples bikes. I dont plan on putting the bike away though, im gunna just try and not make the same mistake again. In my car it took me about 2-3 times of taping my breaks in the snow b4 I learned my lesson. Took 1 time turning right at 90mph b4 I learned my lesson and 1 time taking a tight left in 3rd gear at 25mph(can make the same 25mph turn in 2nd though) I know the car is alot different than a bike, but if I cant take the courses right now I think.the next best option is just practice. Luckily ive never wrecked my car though, except when some guy hit me on the highway. But I do realize a slight mistake on a car and your prob not gunna get hurt( especially when no cars are around) and on a bike a little mistake can get real bad real.quick.
  20. Ive had a couple people from here offer to take the msf(again) with me, im just trying to figure out how to get.the.course knocked out without calling off 2jobs in a single day.
  21. I might look into that one of these Saturdays down the road, whatever I can do to better myself I eventually want to do. That quick double apex caught me off guard on the hill(first one ever for me on a bike) ive took em with a slight straight away b4 but this was 2connecting curves. If I didnt work 2 fulltime jobs itd be easier to knock some of the safety classes out, but for the msf I would lose 32hours of work if I had to call off for 2days. after I wrecked I noticed quite a few bikes riding the clutch in that same turn, which is what im gunna do next week(if I get my bike.fixed in time) when I attempt it again.
  22. It was in a sharp down hill double apex(serpent hill?) Over on 325,I dunno if ur supposed to, but you can lol. Bikes only 300lb im 180, pretty easy to lean the bike.
  23. how much do track days run for novice?
  24. Actually thats the slowest I took any corner all day. 10mph is fast?
