  1. I went from a zx12r to a brand new street glide. Takes all of 5 miles to get use to the differences in the bikes. Floor boards are awesome. The torque is about the same between my 103 and what the 12 was the bike is just heavier. The cvo has a 110 a little more grunt than the 103. Also it is a fly by wore throttle can be a little touchy at first. Like said when moving around at slow speed the throttle is your friend use it to help you move the bike. I'm in love with my new bike. And I have no clue what ysr is talking about with harley riders I ride mine hard like I stole the damn thing.

  2. Was the zx12 really that bad? My wife is perfectly comfy on the back of the cbr 1100xx for rides less that 6 hours. After 6 hours she gets antsy. one of her first rides with me was the rainy river ride with fonzie.

The truth is she has a bad back which won't let her ride on the back of a sportbike. I have a bad leg which I had to push myself too much to ride the bike. This new bike doesn't make me want to get off and walk around after 50 miles

  3. Congrats on the new 2015 Street Glide and I welcome another pirate to the forum. One word of warring do not let the fiancé get to close to the Harley Motor cloth section at any of the dealers. LOL

Is this advice coming from previous experience? And thank you I just needed something more conducive for my bad knee. I didn't have a problem riding it 100 miles home from the dealer where as the sportbike I'd get 40 miles in and my leg would kill me

  4. You made a great choice. You will have a blast running around with your wife with both of you being all nice and comfortable.  Now put together some not too long little trips. Even 2 day trips. Like down to Charleston WV Saturday morning, stay at the dog track/casino..eat hot dogs at Hillbilly Hot Dogs and go home Sunday.

PA for the Frank Lloyd Wright house...Falling Waters and swing back through Moundsville WV for the prison tour.

Both trips would include nice curvy roads....

I will do that. Charleston is only 2 hours from me. I'm still getting use to having a passenger I've always rode solo until now

  5. congrats, you'll love the street glide.  if you need something powder coated let me know

I will definitely let you know it's the denim flat grey so I think I'm gonna do all the chrome powder coated flat black eventually.

And thanks everyone I've got to go through the motions with the break in period but so far I'm liking the bike. It just calls out ride me. And it puts a bigger smile on my face than my sportbikes ever had.

  6. After a long thought process I have considered selling my zx12r for a bagger. My fiancé can't ride on the back of my sportbike and really wants to ride with me. Don't get me wrong I love my zx12r. Of the 3 bikes I've owned it's the best one so far. And not because it's a powerhouse but the overall feel. It's comfortable smooth and very nimble for as big as it is. Am I making a mistake or should I keep it and just buy the bagger and have 2 steeds in the stable
