Thanks. There's a group of riders that are gonna do that run and I told them there's a section to avoid. I just couldn't remember.

Does anyone know what section of 555 we bypassed? I can't remember.

I practiced that a lot today and my hand never fell asleep on me or went numb. It did feel like I just worked out my legs and lower back afterwards but I'm in really good shape... Benefit of being in the military I guess. I've been reading that book (.pdf) and it has shed light on many things. Some of which I think should be taught at the basic riders course. Never knew that getting on the throttle just a little bit can get you out of certain situations better than braking or closing the throttle.

I did notice that actually. The times when my wrists 'ache' more is when I'm slowing down or riding for long periods of time through slow speed zones... Like 25-35mph. But I'm going to try and use my legs more to keep my weight off of my wrists.

That could be my problem. I will make a mental note and try putting that to practice.

Strange as this may sound when I was riding upright my right hand was falling asleep on me and when I tucked I had feeling again in my hand. So I just tucked almost the entire trip, I also found it comfortable for me through the turns. Maybe I'm developing a bad riding habit??

I know exactly what I did wrong.. Entered the turn too fast and failed to look through the turn. Never had another close call after that, except for the white truck who was trying to run us off the road.

That was an awesome ride. I no longer feel like a rookie after that journey of twisties. Although next time I'm going to stay out of the corn fields. I like corn but not that much. Wish I had that moment on video to see what it looked like. Looking forward to the next time.

You can add me to the list. Just cleared my weekend plans to make new ones... Ride!
  11. I checked out Jackass Flats FB page and they are having $1 burger Saturdays along with Wednesday Bike Night and Biker Sundays. Not sure what the difference is but whatever. They don't show a time when the $1 burgers start but if you don't get there at a decent time you'll be parking in the grass so bring a kickstand pad or something.

    Ziebart

I just dropped my bike off at Ziebart to get a diamond gloss application and they hooked me up with a good discount. They dont advertise it but they do have services for all kinds of bikes. What I'm getting is a diamond gloss for all paint surfaces. Had them do my truck years ago and the diamond gloss is amazing. Ten times better than wax. Google them.
  13. It was pretty cool... Live cover band and great food. I was worried it would be nothing but HDs as well but there were around 100 sport bikes rolling in and out of there... Busas, R1s, R6s, Ninjas.. You name it and it was probably there. The $1 burger thing is at Jack's and they did it last year and I heard they are doing it again this year.
  14. I checked out the QSL bike night and it was decent. A few of us ended up at Jackass Flats.. There were too many bikes to count and their burgers were excellent. Will be going again this coming Saturday for $1 burger night.
