  1. I've seen his bike over on the Ride Ohio forum. He has more picture of it posted over there.
  2. Ditto on this weak ass moped horn on my Victory.
  3. Kinda new here myself. Welcome
  4. I'm not a sportbike owner/rider but from a cruiser perspective that's like putting a newbie on a Rocket III Triumph, just as nuts!! For a sportbike to begin on I would guess a 600cc is plenty enough to get into trouble on. I would even lean towards a 500cc for a newb to learn on.
  5. Brings back memories of the inline four cruiser styled bikes I once had. First was a 1982 Kawasaki 550 LTD from new in 82 to 1985, then a 1982 Yamaha XJ650 Maxim bought used from 1988 to 1992. Then I went backwards in 1996 buying a 1979 Yamaha XS750 Special triple and unloaded it in 1997 (bad troubles). My last inline four wasn't really a cruiser. I bought a 1998 Honda Nighthawk 750 in 2001 after a kid rear ended me with his grandma's car, destoying a beautiful 1996 Triumph 900 Adventurer triple.

I'm a cruiser guy, well since I got my first cruiser in 1997 (96 Honda Shadow ACE 1100). I've had quite a variety of bikes over the 42 plus years that I've had motorcycles.
  7. In response to Kritz, yes Fostoria is only 10 miles or so on Route 12 but I usually go the back way on Route 613 to County Road 18. That's also the quickest way to American Powersports where I bought my Victory last September. It might be 3 or 4 miles more going that way.
  8. I'm new here too, but I'm rolling out the welcome mat for you.

I got my first cruiser style motorcycle in 1997. It was a 1996 Honda Shadow ACE 1100. After a couple standard bikes I went back to a cruiser again in 2002, a 2000 Yamaha Road Star 1600. It actually vibrated a lot like a Harley and I called it my "good vibrations" bike. I got an out of court settlement in 2003 and traded it in on a 2003 Royal Star Venture full dresser. There's been a few more bikes after that but I don't want to waste too much time.
  10. I've been riding now for over 42 years and getting on motorcycle forums & websites maybe the last dozen or so. Most of my friends ride Harleys and I respect their choice. No doubt the most popular brand cruiser there is. I have never owned or even ridden a Harley Davidson and that doesn't bother me, but I don't bash their bikes. I have seen this dead horse subject kicked to death on many forums only to anger the participants. It doesn't serve any purpose other than to stir the trouble pot. Buy what you want, ride and enjoy it. It's your money and your time.
  11. Thanks to all of you. I hope to get some serious riding in this year. Possibly going out to Spirit Lake Iowa in August for the American Victory Rally which has plant tours of the Polaris factory where Victory Motorcycles are made. Since I retired in 2007 my motorcycle mileage went up to about 9,000 to 10,000 miles a year.
  12. Thank-you very much! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. We're trying to grow it a little each year. Much of our funds go to helping veterans and our community.
