  1. In response to Kritz, yes Fostoria is only 10 miles or so on Route 12 but I usually go the back way on Route 613 to County Road 18. That's also the quickest way to American Powersports where I bought my Victory last September. It might be 3 or 4 miles more going that way.

  2. I got my first cruiser style motorcycle in 1997. It was a 1996 Honda Shadow ACE 1100. After a couple standard bikes I went back to a cruiser again in 2002, a 2000 Yamaha Road Star 1600. It actually vibrated a lot like a Harley and I called it my "good vibrations" bike. I got an out of court settlement in 2003 and traded it in on a 2003 Royal Star Venture full dresser. There's been a few more bikes after that but I don't want to waste too much time.

  3. I've been riding now for over 42 years and getting on motorcycle forums & websites maybe the last dozen or so. Most of my friends ride Harleys and I respect their choice. No doubt the most popular brand cruiser there is. I have never owned or even ridden a Harley Davidson and that doesn't bother me, but I don't bash their bikes. I have seen this dead horse subject kicked to death on many forums only to anger the participants. It doesn't serve any purpose other than to stir the trouble pot. Buy what you want, ride and enjoy it. It's your money and your time.

  4. Thanks to all of you. I hope to get some serious riding in this year. Possibly going out to Spirit Lake Iowa in August for the American Victory Rally which has plant tours of the Polaris factory where Victory Motorcycles are made. Since I retired in 2007 my motorcycle mileage went up to about 9,000 to 10,000 miles a year.
