  1. Tpoppa, this why we get H-D gear. Once your family knows you have a HD it's over. Gift cards every birthday, x-mas or anniversary .
  2. You can find one- but it will have a salvage title !
  3. Saw this deal and had to buy it for the wife. FN-FNX9 for $449. Normally that's a $600 gun. Couldn't find it cheaper anywhere on the net. 3 mags 4 back straps. Great Lakes stores are north east. 2 in geauga county, one in lake county. They do have a website and do internet sales. Sale ends the 28th
  4. You will like it here, everybody is pretty cool! Welcome
  5. Thanks mike , I did a bunch of reading late last night about Sena and agree with both of you.
  6. Sounds like fun but I see mt Rushmore every August! If you go that far keep going to glacier .
  7. That is sweet! A man needs his necessities !
  8. Wife said I need to buy a seat , and I showed her the passenger peg drop kits so I have to get those too. I'm willing to bet with dropped pegs and a good seat she will like her 10-15 rides a year just as much as she did on the roadie . Not crazy about a tail trunk but I will need it for all her crap . She will miss the 500 watt stereo , and I will have to get use to ear buds again . Oh well
  9. Nice pics- I too so regret selling my TL- son was born and I needed the dough! My boss rides a FJR and swears by the angel GT's . Tires have come a long way! Harley tires still suck- hard as a rock but they last forever!
  10. Think the pioneer will stay cheap or is it to flood the market the first year? I would love to have one
  11. Very cool Tim , thanks for the info. I always ask about the suspension since I'm 6'1 245. Any bike I have had in the past needed an upgraded something in the legs dept. so I am glad to hear your a big guy with no issues. What year TL ? I had a green 97 that was a hoot. When I bought my Sv in 03 it was not as wild as that TL it was a bit more civilized- I remember that rotary shock was a bit strange on the TL but the bike was so fun. It did run hot like you mentioned. Should have kept that thing !
  12. Thanks mike. I have been reading a lot about the secondaries , and why they are not needed. I'm sure after I buy one I will be bugging you from time to time.
  13. Thanks mike ! Your right about the COG those guys know everything! Nice bunch too. Going to look at a 09 tomorrow in Toledo , 10k miles for $7999. Has heli risers, grips and high windshield already. I don't care much for linked brakes anyway. Traction control would be nice but I can get into this bike much cheaper. Does the bike need a shock ? Or is the stock set up good?
  14. I saw some of you ride the concours 14, my question is about the years. I see lots of chatter about engine heat on the 08/09 models , as well as heavy steering . Both those were addressed in 2010-up ( says the internet) so I was wondering how bad it is or is it BS? The newer models have lots of goodies- heated grips , traction control, linked ABS , but I can get a good mileage 08/09 for 4-6 k less. Thanks in advance
  15. I plow a 320ft by 14 ft drive with a polaris 4x4 600 sportsman . Plows great, and I live in the snow Capitol of Ohio. No issues at all. You get cold, but you can also put snow where you want. Carhartts and heated grips do wonders. Then when your done you can flip the switch to 2x4 and chop donuts ! Snow blowers do a very nice , clean job but you can't ride them or use them year round!
  16. Helmet , coat , gloves , closed toe shoe . And $10.00.! Oh and you must cave a chain guard. Crazy that you must have a chain guard but zero skill is required! Black birds suffer their a little since the linked brakes don't allow for a good burn . They spray compound but dry hops are not enough there. Don't be surprised if you spin. Some guys dig it since they don't wheelie as much .
  17. Not a lot of black birds around - are you a Thompson drag raceway guy? I think I already know you. That's like 12 min. From my house. I spent a lot of Wednesday Nights there in my years!
  18. I sat on the v2 at the bike show - got yelled at for going up on the riser to do it! Felt great- very KTM like. Before the Connie I was really considering the adventure class bikes, love the tiger 1050 and the strom . The new tigers are nice too but I will go down to one bike if I buy the Connie . It can do it all- slap, tour, sport ect. Good luck on your hunt for the BMW, like those too- wanted a gt 1300 but can't see giving what they ask for a 7 yr old model. I guess you get what you pay for.
  19. Not sure I meant to discount all brands helmutt, just the start line . The price difference is closer too . $21,000 for their touring rig is getting real close to a Electra glide and the bolt is $9200. That's more than a 883 iron. The stratoliner is $16800 and a road king is 19,899- things are getting closer. He'll I bought my roadie because it was cheaper than the cross country and vision from polaris. There are $25-35,000 HD units but the base models are lower. Sorry if I implied other makes are inferior . They just need to do their own thing like triumph , Ducati and guzzi have. Otherwise they will always be tagged as " just likes" . They have other options but they know what sells.
  20. Your lucky, my " bitch" wanted nothing to do with the bandit 400 I bought her a few years back . Just not her bag . I sure hope I meet you this season on a ride , I'm sure we could find something to talk about . I work in Hiram so I'm sure I can find the only guy in Ravenna on a multi-strata .
  21. Not the case Duane , ride height is gained as well as composure at speed. Your from Bula so this season I will me you half way in lake county , and let you blow mine down 307 . Then you can tell me how this bike ain't bad for a big pig. The new frame and tire sizes introduced in 09 really helped the touring class HD's - better legs on that big girl really help her out. Haven't found any other makes in the cruiser world with a stock set up even come close . -the new moto guzzi is close but I don't fit on it. Stock to stock the Victory wins hands down over any HD but we are not talking stock !
  22. Sweet pokey , thanks . I never rode a DL 1000 but have had the mill in my 03 SV 1000-love that motor. Surprised you don't want the new Vstrom. The BMW is great but you pay for it! Thanks for the advice on the Connie- I demoed on in Vegas last fall and decided I needed one. Fits me well and the wife seemed ok on it.
  23. I like that reply! They were the best shock for the money that would hold my 245lbs without being hard as a rock. Lots of guys out them on the touring rigs to gain ride height and drop the horrible factory oil over air shocks. Don't worry their not chrome!
  24. I agree- my bike has olhins in the back and Racetech up front and my underside stil looks like a cheese grader. - the point is you were comparing a high end sport adventure platform bike to a 800+ lb sled as if they were part of the same disipline, they are not - my posts are to replies I read over this year old post were in defense of sigle sided arguments. I don't disagree with any point any of you made about HD inability- but dude its a cruiser- Not all of them go putt-putt-putt and have fringe and flags. I have shown many of poser squid with chicken strips a wheel mid corner, just as you have pasted many of parade groups holding up traffic, blocking you mid apex . Each their own, we just look at it from different angles. - BTW nothing wrong with BMW's!
