  1. Well, in the past we've seen some very intense 250 class battles... unlikely the repave will affect their lap times much, they were flat out all the time anyway!
  2. I'm headed there this weekend to help Sam Wang ... hopefully it stays dry
  3. Well, seems you're all grown up now, so to speak! When you start doing 36's, come school me on me how to do them!
  4. I wont be able to get to Pitt, but am planning to get over to Nelson's to help Sam Wang on 7/22 & 23
  5. hard to say, I still suck in all the same ways .... I'm a wuss on deep braking LOL
  6. and one more, the first link but easier to get to .... Braking down into Turn 7 China Beach ...
  7. another clip of going through madness
  8. I think this was race 10 on Saturday ... got an awful start and spent most of the race clawing back positions.
  9. my nephew took a few camera vids during my races ... IMG_1565.mov (is there a good way to embed vids?)
  10. cool beans I-Zapp ... got it all together?
  11. man, don't let what you think others will say deter you .... last year I started both races on the front row and then carefully executed a retreat to the mid/back of pack. I rode my best, and it was what it was ... had a blast doing so.
  12. I'm in .... running the 1098 in the big twins classes.
  13. I got down to Mid O yesterday for what turned out to be a superb day. Track surface temps got up to 100 so we had really good traction. No Lifeflights (thank goodness). After the 1 session, I came into the pits and noticed my oil pressure light was ON. Fack. Before getting too wigged out, I took a look at oil level. Check. Next I looked at the pressure sending unit .... hmm, oil seeping out of it. Good, at least in the sense I had not lunched my engine. But no spare on hand ... I head out into the paddock looking for fellow Duc eurotrash owners ... 1st guy I come across reaches into his tool box and pulls out 2 sending units he's welded up for just the problem I experienced. Says, here, take this welded up sensor and give me your failed unit. Riding day is saved .... Helping our fellow riders and racers .. it's how we roll. BTW, it was really good to see Rusty out on track ... had been a while!
  14. Just unreasonably hopeful. No matter. I'll ride at mid Ohio, do the vintage day event, and whatever else I can make time for
  15. does there appear to be any reasonable chance of us racing bikes there this year?
  16. I got 4 days too ... talked to Gwen so mine were 146 each
  17. I met Ryan somewhere along the way at nelson ledges and Motoseries. But only in the last year did we get a chance to ride with each much (MidO). I am truly saddened to loose a fellow rider, and a good one at that. Keep hitting the apexes in the clouds my friend ...
  18. I had a great time racing at Mid O over Vintage Days. Let's just say the fast guys schooled me a bit... While walking around on Sunday, I spied Wes Cooley's superbike in the pit lane, with Wes sitting there getting ready to ride a few laps of honor. As I was attempting to take a few pics through the chain link fence, one of the guys down on pit lane said, "come on down." So headed down and had a few moments conversation with Wes, a really decent guy. He had a really bad accident in 1985 and still showed some signs of the injuries. We got to taking taking pictures of his bike and he graciously offered to have one taken of the two of us. The bike sounded glorious going down the front straight. There were several Japanese fellows there as well who came over from Japan. One spoke some english and relayed to me that one of them was the former Kawasaki Z-1 lead designer and had the serial #1 of the original Eddie Lawson replica. They got a huge kick out of Wes's old bike and knew a great deal about Pops Yoshimura. Great Fun ....
  19. Ryan, the last part of your sentence above sounds ominous ... you OK? bike OK?
  20. VMD Roll Call Who is racing what? I'm doing STARS HW and MegaTwins/Tripples on my eurotrash 1098.
  21. Most track maps have that as turn 6 after madness ... you know, I could "feel" the pace had changed in that session.
  22. A reminder to ride with our heads. From the 6th advanced session on 6/30. I was told that a racer struck a track day regular at the bottom of the hill; you can see bikes up against the wall in my windscreen. At least one guy got life flighted away from track.
  23. vf1000ride Reminds me of my 999S racebike ... something like 15,000 race miles on it. 3 or 4 crankcases along the way (yours will be fine, mine was built a little). Man that bike served me well.
