  1. I just bought the cheaper throttle lock off of amazon and it's great. It's not meant to be a constant throttle lock or cruise control but it's great to rest your hand for a little while. I've used it out on the back roads but not on the highway yet. To use it effectively I've found that it needs to be as flat as possible on the bar and not up near the thumb where the grip starts to curve. Very happy with the $20 purchase.

  2. Wow I didn't expect this much feedback haha. So let me ask this. Has anyone ever had to use their weapon in a self defense manner? or have even drawn the weapon in a situation before? I always see stats about how less than 1% of the entire CCW have ever been in a "situation" before but stats are usually bogus nowadays.

  3. Yup. Fuel is always a big crowd, with everything from a Lamborghini Aventador to the usual ricer crowd, and bikes from scooters to adventure touring rigs to modded CBXs to vintage iron. Killer biscuits and sausage gravy, too, if you get there early enough!!!

What's the fuel thing about? And

The Wed meet at O'Dells is primarily a Junkie crowd since they were the ones to put it together. Used to be some bad blood between OR and AFJ, but the AFJ crew has mellowed greatly since the forum was created and they're a great resource for hooking up for weekly rides into NKY and some on the east side of Cinti. LocalRiders.com is a smaller and less active forum but has a core of about 20-30 regulars that get out every now and then. Check 'em both out.

  4. I swore by Corbin's on all 3 of my super sports. Tried a different direction on the VFR and that was a mistake as it's not nearly as nice as Corbin route

I guess I'm going to have to give it a shot thanks

  5. It will help for numbness on longer rides.

Corbin has lots of different textures for the seat surface.  Tell them you want one of the more grippy surfaces.  Oh, and don't order from their website.  Call and talk to someone.  They gave me some good ideas for customization that I wouldn't have though of.

Here is one I had custom made.  After about 30,000 miles, I sold it on ebay for about $50 less than I originally paid (after I sold the bike).

That buell looks amazing. Love those bikes. Thanks

I have a Corbin on my ZX6R. I love it. The biggest difference is that the seat is wider in the back so when you're not pressed up against the tank for spirited rides you can scoot back a little bit and have your butt actually be spread over the seat instead of having it split your cheeks if that makes sense. As far as longevity, A+ so far. I've left it in the rain a couple times and it dries out fairly well as long as you leave it for a bit. Finish is still perfect after that as well. I got mine off of Ebay for about 80 bucks less than retail, still brand new.

I'm going to call and see if they might cut a line out kind of what you see on road bicycle seats to spread it out and allow more blood flow.

  6. I thought they would do anything. Did they say that?

I looked on their page and there was no option for the gsxr series. I will call after work and see if they do custom work. Ideally I would like to have a center line cut out down the seat to help with numbness

  7. I like Corbins.  I've had 3 of them.  I find them to be very comfortable for distance riding.

If you get a Corbin, order it directly from them.  Not a dealer.  They will customize if free of charge, with different materials, color, height, etc.

does the seat help to keep you from sliding around and slamming into the tank? what about numbness for long rides? thanks

  8. You flip that lever up with your thumb and that locks the throttle. So it is not cruise control..you will drift up and down on hills. But they work very well. Used them for years.

I know several people that have the second one. Same principle and it too works well.

The third is extremely popular, it doesn't lock but lets you use the weight of your palm so you can relax your fingers.

I looked it up online and they said the first throttle assist wouldn't fit my gsxr 750 bar.

  9. I have the first one as i bought it from iron pony and it works really good i think.

you can pair it with a cramp buster also as those really help also.

How does it work? You just set your speed and lock the throttle with that button in the front?
