  7. I feel dumb, just glad it was fixed lol I was so blinded by thinking it was related to the oil change that I couldn't think outside that box. I couldn't see the forest through the trees. 1979 CB750 Limited Edition
  8. It was the bulb.. I want to thank you guys a ton. I've been up and down forums trying to figure this out and you guys are the only ones to continuously answer my questions and continue to suggest things. Beers on me if you guys are ever in Wayne county. 1979 CB750 Limited Edition
  9. I didn't even read your comment before my last one skullcrusher. Can't believe I forgot to mention the tailight... 1979 CB750 Limited Edition
  10. So I CANNOT find this part secondhand online. I called our local Honda shop... $141 dollars for that little bastard. NOW, its got me wondering. Again, because I'm a dumbass, I put an LED bulb in my tailight a week ago. I never noticed my stoplight running, but I've been dealing with a charging system problem so I wonder if I just overlooked it, I haven't really been running the bike. Is it possible for the lack of power draw from the led bulb in the back to trigger the stop light as it thinks my tailight is out?... Testing to follow, I just want to keep you guys in the loop. If this whole problem was cause by an LED bulb I'm probably going to break down in tears lol 1979 CB750 Limited Edition
  11. Turn the bike off** Jeez, too excited to type. 1979 CB750 Limited Edition
  12. ***So, I start the bike and the light goes on**** 1979 CB750 Limited Edition
  13. Ahhhh! Fuck yeah! So I unplugged the stop light module and turned the key over and the oil light is on. This is normal. So, I start the bike and the light goes off! I turn the bike off and the light turns back off! I have no idea what that little module does or why its been making my life hell, but I KNOW I have pressure from burping the filter, and the switch is clearly responding to the oil pressure by turning off when I start the bike. Im going to replace the module, but you guys think I'm safe for a ride around town? 1979 CB750 Limited Edition
  14. Okay, so the stop light module has been making this whole process funky. I unplugged the module then unplugged the wore to the sensor and the light comes off and stays off. When I reconnect it to the switch, it comes on 1979 CB750 Limited Edition
  15. I just want to unclip it. Unless its the problem I don't want it gone. 1979 CB750 Limited Edition
  16. Wiring diagram Stoplight warning unit 1979 CB750 Limited Edition
  17. On it. I'll post results. I also want to unplug the stop light module and see its effect on the circuit. 1979 CB750 Limited Edition
  18. I couldn't find a single round connector on my bike, all rectangle. Do I just take it from the connector closest to the bulb to the switch? 1979 CB750 Limited Edition
  19. And if we get this fixed I'll have to ride out your way with my county-wide famous "Dusty's Dust" hot pepper powder as a Thank You. I've got the 2014 WORLD record hottest pepper's this year. All heat, very little effect on flavor ???? it's sensational. 1979 CB750 Limited Edition
  20. I had noticed it too. There's four wires that run into a little module that controls the 'stop warning light". Now, as I already tested the light is delayed to turn on when I turn the bike one with the wire disconnected. I think what is happening is that the circuit IS open, but the module all the wires run through go "oh something's wrong here" and turns the light on so I know to address the problem. I did check my brake lights front, back and even neutral light. All functional. I wanted to reroute the wore and see, but it appears to go from the bulb to the sensor on one wire, and then from the bulb to the stop module off the other. I don't know where to run the line from as a start point. 1979 CB750 Limited Edition
  21. Thanks, man! Hellbent on doing this "myself". Hopefully this is the last thing I NEED to do this season.1979 CB750 Limited Edition
  22. Thanks for the reinforcement. Its literally my dream bike and it fell in my lap, the previous owner kinda pulled one over on me. I paid 1,500 cash and have sunk more than 500 in parts I to it. None of the parts were guesswork, it needed them all. Its been three months and I've put 12 miles on it. I'm just frustrated and broke. I really think the switch is bad though. Should be here sometime next week. 1979 CB750 Limited Edition
  23. Oops, didn't see your add on to my quote. Yes, key off 1979 CB750 Limited Edition
  24. I put the clip from the test light on to the connector at the end of the wire that connects to the sensor. 1979 CB750 Limited Edition
