  1. Nope. Net Neutrality wasn't a federal law, it was an F.C.C. regulation so it only needed the vote from the commission today. The commission voted 3-2 so that's it, it's done. Even though the repeal happened, it isn't instant, there will be lawsuits and other battles to happen, but as of right now if say comcast wanted to restrict Netflix's bandwidth until Netflix paid them more money they totally can.
  2. Considering how you normally are, I am shocked about this. the House Representatives from Ohio that supported ending net neutrality are: - Bill Johnson (OH-06) - Steve Chabot (OH-01) - Brad Wenstrup (OH-02) - Bob Gibbs (OH-07) remember these names in the upcoming senate elections and unseat them. This isn't a Republican vs Democrat thing, there are plenty of Republican reps that didn't support this - this is a fucking over everyone who isn't a telecom thing. Edit: Here is how much Money the Telecom industry paid to the above House representatives for Ohio for their support of killing NN: Bill Johnson, Ohio, $196,666 Steve Chabot, Ohio, $332,083 Brad Wenstrup, Ohio, $33,750 https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/7xwknx/republican-members-of-congress-fcc-letter If an NN law gets proposed to congress, you can bet these representatives will vote it down since their votes have been bought by Telecom. Don't want them to do that? vote them out of office.
  3. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/14/technology/net-neutrality-repeal-vote.html anybody want to talk about how Ajit Pai and the Trump Administration just fucked us all?
  4. wouldn't he just call everyone in this thread a cuck for being sentimental?
  5. what's she gonna drive once you sell it?
  6. Actually didn't have to research too much, I've kinda switched my next year DD purchase obsession focus from a 996 Porsche to a '07-'09 GT500 - so the blower already looked familiar. Finding a thread where someone was putting one on an LS in a bmw, that was pure google luck. A turbo is probably packaged better, plus no parasitic loss. Roots blowers these days are for old guys that like to hear blower whine. What people are doing with turbos on LS engines blows my mind. I like the setup the guy had it with a whipple charger lower end and a fabricated flat plate top to mount the blower. That's kind of an old school way of making a blower fit and could probably be done for cheap - but yeah, I'd probably hold out for a much cheaper blower, even if there is less fab than a turbo setup. I think the whipple manifold alone new is like $650.
  7. Looks like an Eaton M122. Should be easy to get parts for. I think the Shelby GT500 used one stock, looking at the one posted that looks like where it came from. May want to reach out to magnuson supercharger - he's an eaton dealer. IIRC the front drive rear inlet is a truck and hummer blower setup so you'll need the manifold for that. Most LS roots blowers for camaros/vettes/GTOs use a front inlet and rear drive setup for cowl clearance. Edit: I take that back - there may not be a manifold for it. here is a thread that might be relevent: https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-induction/1490932-homemade-m112-my-ls1-bmw.html
  8. amazing work. That's awesome.
  9. wow, those floors are roached. Good thing they sell a complete floor panel. what are those front wheels? they look like Cragar S/S clones.
  10. I'm still waiting for the big tire, tube chassis, tesla doorslammer drag car. Surprised one hasn't happened already.
  11. I had to look them up. Mirko pilots Ferraris in GT3 for a variety of teams. Sam Hancock Was Aston Martin's factory driver in 2010 including 24 hours of lemans, but I don't think he has had a pro ride since 2012. He did the commentary on the video of the fastest lap ever of lemans. considering the cars it's a nice little easter egg.
  12. on old carbed bikes and cars, I just misted water from a spray bottle into the running engine to clean the carbon. Always worked. It's an old timers trick but it works 100% - if you don't believe me, look at the cylinders in any engine that had a head gasket leak where antifreeze got in the cylinder - clean as a whistle. The water literally steams the carbon off.
  13. RUF tester Stefan ‘Der Professor’ Roser in the Porsche racing driver Mirko Venturi in the Testarossa racing driver Sam Hancock in the Aston.
  14. I don't know if that paint is original to the car, but that color looks like "Tangerine", which was was a factory color for Mustang II's, Cobra II's, and King Cobras. The paint code is 85 and the data plate should confirm that it is the original color. Because this is a mustang, you can also get a "marti report" to confirm the car's options, color, etc... Man...if it was refund season and not xmas...
  15. If you run top tier fuel from branded stations (BP, Shell, etc...) there is no reason whatsoever to do a fuel treatment. Those fuels already have the same cleansers and detergents in the fuel and you have been doing it all along. If you run spot market gasoline which can be hit or miss on quality (Giant Eagle, Speedway, UDF, etc), then running a little bit through the system every now and again can't hurt. Personally I use seafoam on my older carb'ed vehicles, and my jeep which only sees use once a week. The E10 fuels can be hell on older carb'ed systems and they aren't as clean running or designed as modern FI, so there are lots of pockets for sediments and garbage to collect and then block something. The Jeep sits around and I put the cheapest shitty gas in it so throwing in a can of seafoam once in a while helps a bit. For your daily driver though? if you aren't using top tier gas, just take a month and fill up with that stuff instead. It may be cheaper, but it's def easier.
  16. Do you know what brand they are? If they are diecast there should be a makers mark on the bottom of the fuselage or wing.
  17. These are really cool underrated cars. They made 4,318 of them, but the automatic is rarer because it was a nearly $300 option. In case anybody wants to know what makes the King Cobra more special from a Cobra II or v8 mustang II: http://www.mustangandfords.com/featured-vehicles/mump-0705-1978-mustang-king-cobra/ It says "4-speed manual" but the car looks like an automatic. What auto trans is in it? Is it the stock one or did someone swap in an OD.
  18. I will start off by saying, If you can run the front plate do it. It's $50 you unnecessarily pay to the state and you can't see it when you are in the car anyway - I'd rather spend the money on a plate relocation kit to make it less obtrusive (including ones that fold when parked), then to the state. That being said, I have been running without a front plate for a year now. My plate was ripped off my BMW by last year's flooding and it took a piece of the bumper mount that made it cost prohibitive to fix without replacing the whole bumper. I have it just sitting on the dash, not even suction cupped like some people do so it isn't visible from the front unless you are right up on top of the car. I have not yet been pulled over for it, nobody has mentioned it to me, nada. I basically drive only in suburban areas though and rarely downtown. Now my wife, someone backed into her car 2 years ago and cracked the carbon fibre grille cross bar the license plate was mounted to. For a week she drove without a plate, and she got a ticket while parked at a meter downtown. I fought it and won, but I made a mount for her plate and remounted it. Since then it has not been an issue. Now to be fair, my car is a white bone stock 3 series on poverty wheels. It has no visible "performance enhancements", tint, or makes any noise other than stock. It doesn't give anybody a reason to pull me over. My wife's car is a lowered black audi with many visible carbon fibre parts, a semi-loud stainless exhaust, and completely blacked out (tints on windows and lights) that we jokingly refer to as rolling probable cause. She gets pulled over once a year and it's hilarious to see the officer's face when behind the tint is this smiling, bubbly 5'5" woman (usually hauling my daughter in the back). Prior to the BMW, I got pulled over in my jeep (2015) for alleged speeding. I had just been hit by a co-worker two days before and the front bumper was mangled (and the speedo not working). The officer mentioned it but let me go with a warning. YMMV Here's the thing, It's not a "priority" for anybody, but if you are attracting attention and they want to write you for something but don't want to stick you with something burdensome, you could easily end up with one. It makes a good reason to pull you over in the otherwise absence of substantial probable cause. Also it is low hanging fruit for the parking enforcers downtown, so you roll the dice and you takes your chances. Is it a big risk? depends on where you are going but I'll say no. Every city, township, village, etc has their own enforcement stragety, so if you find yourself driving through a lot of small speed trap towns (Linndale I am looking at you) I'd put one on just to avoid the potential for a hassle.
  19. So I guess you bought a new car after all. very nice
  20. I think he is talking about the '18 power tour, since PT is usually in June. Now is the time people start making arrangements for the event so if you are dead set on going in '18, you should start making hotel bookings now. http://www.hotrod.com/events/power-tour/ I have wanted to do this since the first one, and while I attended the year they were in New Orleans (2003) doing it with my GTO has been a dream. Austin, if you do get your poop in a group to do this and want a co-pilot/navigator who is a sub par wrench but has a passing knowledge of the inside of a Pontiac engine, let me know.
  21. Which is funny, because during drag week most of those guys have no problem pulling trailers with their support gear over hundreds of miles. http://st.motortrend.com/uploads/sites/5/2013/09/1957-chevrolet-drag-week-towing.jpg Actually, now that I think about it, reading up on drag week coverage, esp classes and results, from the past few years would probably be the best answer as to what it takes to "play in the streets". You should probably attend the next Drag week, even as just a spectator although it is September 18 so maybe you can get the car running by then. There are always going to be the Jeff Lutz's of the world pouring cubic dollars into a tube chassis doorslammer, and thankfully the money needed for that keeps that pool small. Most of the rest of the field is going to be what you see in something like NHRA superstock classes.
  22. just looked it up on ECS's site and they use the F10 M5 calipers for the E9x swap instead of the E60 calipers. I don't know the difference between the E60 and F10 calipers, is there one? https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-parts/front-6-piston-big-brake-kit-382x36mm/004038ecs01kt/
  23. Thanks for the Plug Clay!!!1 Tim, as clay mentioned I am very very rusty at it but I'll ask around the pinhead community. I've seen some stunning work at car shows here in ohio so I know there are talented professionals working this city. I met this guy at good guys a couple of years ago, his work seemed solid - maybe give him a call: http://greasygorillapinstriping.daportfolio.com/
  24. congrats ben. Bummer you have to sell...although you could always point your wife to me as an example of someone who continued to ride after their kid was born. Lot's of people do it, just sayin.... Is she gonna make you give up cycling too? because that's way more dangerous.
  25. Almost nothing interchanges between the two models suspension wise. That being said, I think ECS makes an adaptor kit for the M5 brake calipers to fit the E90 chassis. I can't remember what generation M5 it is though.
